I guess it's about time I make a post on here. I made my account August, 27 of 2005. At that time I was 11 years old. By 2006 I had taken on leading one of Champions top 10 Supergroups, Order of the Champion. The amazing thing about it was that this wasn't any supergroup. This supergroup was where I got my first 50. It was where I realized that in an MMO you don't just play a video game like on Xbox then quit, you stick around because the people in the game are your friends. At first I remember thinking you can't have friends online. They're not real? Over and over again I was proved wrong. Whether it was my late night talks with Sinny, or cleaning up the mess that Nibz made. Early on those were the days. I remember when Stryker was trying to recruit me out of the SG I was leading... I remember when I saw PON and their High Council, and thinking wow it must be cool to be on the High Council of such a prestigious SG.I remember the first time I PVP'd. I placed 2nd in one of Bud's Tournaments on my Mind/Thermal against a Widow from Freedom. I remember the first time I made a Mids build, it was for my Emp/Psi Defender. That character alone has well over 1500 hours invested on him, and to think that I've got 13 other characters with just as much time and effort into them I don't even want to calculate how much time is now going to be just code on a shut down server. Losing City of Heroes is like losing a friend, and for me a mentor. Whether you all realize it or not because I played this game at such a young age as I was growing up you all influenced me heavily. I remember wanting to be just like @Teh Artic and @Sinful Blaze. Then I remember wanting to be a good Supergroup leader, and of course we all wanted to be as filthy rich as Enigma. I've done a lot of things I regret, but overall I couldn't have imagined a more fantastic turnout for a mere $50 purchase.
@4shes, words cannot explain how glad I am that we're going to stay in touch. There is nothing as magical as seeing the two of us on a team-kicking ***.
@Hunter, some of you may remember him, some of you may not. He was my first Supergroup leader, and the person I tried to lead Order the Champion in the name of. OTC was more than an SG, it was a responsibility, it was a family, and a home...thank you Hunter for showing me how wonderful a SG could be and then passing on the honor of showing others that exact experience to me.
@Black Tabby, I know we haven't known one another that long, but I'll always remember you as the ULTIMATE Claws/SR Scrapper, and for being a good sport about all the canadian jokes.
@Brutal, Mids builds. The end, glad you're still gonna be around.
@Taker, I met you through Angie B, and I'm so glad that you ended up joining us in OTC. You could always make us laugh, and you're an irreplaceable friend.
@Sepultura, I know you were never formally recruited into OTC, but wherever we were, you were also. Your the estrogen boost our group needed. I'm so glad that you came along.
@Jester of Cowbell, I'll never forget the 2 month break I took from the game and how you assumed the role of holding the Super-Lead for me in OTC. I'm going to miss you and Marsh a lot. But I couldn't ever thank you enough for the speedy TFs, and the great friendship. I hope to see you around.
@Marshman, you were always so soft spoke... until you ordered chinese food haha. I'm gonna miss you and the stories about your son. I hope you stay in touch on skype.
@Cherry, We were in a bit of a rough patch here towards the end, and all that aside. You've done wonderful things for the Champion Community, I thank you for assuming the role that nobody else wanted to.
@Artic Keeper, you're annoying, you can't spell, and there isn't a thing I would change about it. You're willingness to stick to villains side through all the loneliness is unbelievable. I'm glad you're coming with us.
There are so many more people..
Sinny, Braije, Enigma, Gladiator Engraged, Budweiser, Placta, Angie B, Nibz, Fiery Enforcer, Cam, Family Stone, Horus, Amygdala, Cobalt, Demon Enforcer, Kaszandra, Teh Artic, Sinful Blaze, Siphon Blaze, Habachi, Nator, Elf Stalker, Iltat, Ready Aim Fire, Prixy, Felicia Divine, UC, Ziva, Tanks for Nothin, LOG, James T Mobster, Larsen, Frost, Wynguard, Angel, Fanged Knight, War Admiral, Jonny Neutron, Masque, Tritonfree, Deno, Sgt. Claw, Athena Shadow, Azure, Viking Queen, Viking Princess, Streetlight, and the hundreds of others I've teamed with, or seen on the streets of Paragon City.... -
With tactics you should easily be able to attain a 22% to hit bonus allowing you to instant cast your snipes. So my vote is obvious.

I must say I disagree that fire is sub par for brutes. Therefore this is what I've come up with.
The build I've posted below DOES have panaceas in Healing Flames because I saw you had them in your build so I was willing to slot them as well. However I checked it and if you slot doctored wounds your recharge on hasten only increases by 0.9s So I would recommend saving yourself the money. With Panaceas hasten recharges in 121.1 without it it's 122.0
I also noticed that you took Dark Obliteration. Don't do that. While I love the power and Gloom's awesomeness if your truly looking to min/max your build Fiery Embrace will benefit Fireball WAYY more than Dark Obliteration.
Hasten is soo close to perma.. you've got a solid amount of HP, a solid end gap, and soft capped smashing lethal defense.

Also I believe your Mids is out of date. -

I noticed that you said you liked your Illusion/Storm Controller. Something I'd recommend trying is Earth/Storm... If you don't want to repeat storm maybe Earth/Trick Arrow, Earth/Sonic, or even Earth/Dark. Earth Control just offers amazing control and debuffs, well paired with another debuff set. Earth offers -Def like crazy and -to hit in Earthquake.
-
I've considered Pain over and over and I always seem to lean away from it. If you've got experience with Time Manipulation I'd like to know what you think of it. Those seems to be the two contenders for my remaining character slot.
-
I need suggestions on what to pair with Ice. I've already got a Kin, Cold, Dark, Storm, Trick Arrow, and Rad. I'm willing to make another of any of these if I find the build solid enough however I was hoping to make something I've not yet played before. My main reason for an Ice primary is because I've never played it and Blizzard will be epic with the new i24 changes. Thank you a head of time for all suggestions or comments.
-
I think these two have covered most of the incarnate slots to the degree that I would've however for interface I would recommend Diamagnetic's highest %chance for -Regeneration primarily because that is the only de-buff Trick Arrow does not have and it brings it down a lot in comparison to other de-buffing sets.
-
Ok so now that I've looked at your build there are a few things that need to be attended to.
First and most importantly Disruption Arrow. I noticed you didn't take this power and while I don't take a lot of the powers that I'm told to (EMP Arrow) I do believe Disruption Arrow is easily the best power in Trick Arrow. This offers a -15% resistance every 20 something seconds (making it permanent). Acid Arrow provides another 15%. So by skipping this power your opting into being half as effective as other Trick Arrows. Just keep in mind -resistance is your only affect that cannot be slotted for. So you need to take every power that offers it in order to stack it.
Secondly, I notice you do not have a travel power of any sort. I see this often on the forums maybe it's just not that important to you all, or maybe you just don't run speed Task Forces like I do. However in my build you'll see that I've managed to fit in a travel Power at the cost of Aim and Snap shot. I willing to make this trade because I've already got my 22% to-hit. Allowing my snip to instant cast replacing snap shot. And if I've already got 22% to-hit I'll have no use for aim.
Lastly, your mastery set. I've chosen Mace Mastery obviously for the Defense to Smashing, Lethal, and Energy Damage (providing me defense to the 3 most prominent damage types in the game). Secondly because of Focused Accuracy to help me achieve the instant casting snipe. If your taking Power Mastery for Power Build Up's secondary effects boost I would recommend taking Soul Mastery's Power Boost. This power recharges faster and offers the same secondary effects boos. However if your interested in Power Build Up's To-Hit bonus I understand.
That is all that I can think to tell you. I hope you find a build you like. -
I didn't get the chance to look at your build. This is the one I intend to run. Keep in mind these numbers include the alpha slot.... Just an idea for you to kick around until I get a chance to look at your build later.

This is the Archery/TA build I intend to be running. Let me know what you think.

I had never thought about it. It would work great in theory but keep in mind repel says for every enemy repelled it will take a chunk of endurance...
-
I would run something more along these lines. Soul Drain works beautifully and any lieutenant/minion that comes in Melee range of you will be stunned or held because of Choking Cloud and Oppressive Gloom. Notice that this build relies on Accolades and an Alpha slot so if you're not going to get those on this character do not use this build or it will not perform as designed.

I ended up swapping out my Clarion for Barrier and picking up the Melee Hybrid for the Mez resistance and increasing my survivability all around. I'm glad I did.

Nobody is able to open the builds and look at them, try yourself the Data links do not work. Try posting the Data Chunks it's a bit more reliable.

Honestly fire has a great appeal to it, many of the great Flavor of the Month's have had Fire Blsat... Fire/Mental Blasters, Fire/Cold Corruptors, Fire/Dark Corruptors, and many, many more I'm missing. I guess the answer to your question is yes, there is a point to non-fire blasting toons. Secondary affects pretty much covers it all.
If you go Electric you get some solid End Drain and a pet. It's cool to play an Elec/Dark as a corruptor and have up to 3 pets with your Mastery, and up to 5 if you pick up Lore.
Sonic obviously offers great control and resistance debuffs making each attack do more damage.
Ice blast's Blizzard is probably the best nuke available to Corruptors because it benefits most from scourge, and as targets die the new ones that walk into the patch they're damaged by it's affects while most other nukes just drop the intial targets. It pairs really well with the Ice Storm in Ice Blast and other rain type powers. (Sleet or Freezing Rain)
Rad Blast is a very powerful set as well, often underestimated. Has 2 really solid AOE attacks, you can perma stun a boss, and every attack lowers your enemies defense significantly (often helpful for kins who need accuracy for their powers)
Dark Blast's -ToHit, self heal, and control makes it very powerful many people are even able to tank with Dark/Dark Corruptors as Dark/Dark Defenders do.
Obviously there are many more options but these are just a few reasons to pick powersets other than fire. -
I've never been more impressed by a powerset other than Trick Arrow, it's totally underestimated by so many players, and honestly I think thats because it's associated with Archery (sorry archery lovers). So I would never say that's a bad idea.
However I once had a Cold/Archery Defender that I absolutely loved Sleet and Rain of Arrows were on the same recharge timer so that was really nice. Every mob I was able to drop them to nearly half health in a few seconds because Sleet increased the amount of damage Rain of Arrows did. I can't imagine the damage you could do with that combination on a Corruptor because of scourge. Keep in mind I had my Sleet 6 slotted with 1 Endurance Reduction IO and 5 Damage procs, many times that alone would 1 shot minions and Lieutenants while Rain of Arrows had 5 Positron's including the proc and the Javelin Volley proc. You did say you wanted some recharge bonus and while cold does not offer one I found it up every 30ish seconds easily. -
I found this fire/rad/fire build in another thread it was posted by UnicyclePeon

JAR0 This is very similar to the Fire/Kin build I posted for you on the other thread. While there is nothing wrong with Hyper's build I prefer to have all my toons soft capped to Smashing and Lethal Defense. Here is what I was able to come up with. Please notice that in order to get the endurance where it is I had to take Cardiac Alpha. I don't know how savvy you are with incarnate powers, but the Alpha slot is the first one you unlock so it shouldn't take too long to get this. Also this endurance gap is provided that you have your accolades. So I would not recommend this build unless your intending to get both your alpha slot and your accolades on this character because without them this build will be an endurance draining pit.
Anyways here is the build, once again without fire imps. I stand by my opinion that they'll die unless your constantly healing or buffing them, the only build I've seen them work successfully on is a Fire/Sonic controller because they're resistance is increased.

I know no imps sounds rough but if you'll give it a try I think you'll find yourself fine without them. I was appalled by the idea at first but after debating with a friend about it I tried it. You'll find at higher levels the content does so much AOE damage that the poor little guys end up dying before you get much use out of them.
-
I like the build dead boy posted above. I find that unless she's going to be doing strictly fire damaging content however that she would benefit by trading Temperature protection out for consume.
-
I think that if they'd swap either Tesla Cage or Voltaic Sentinel for a T3 ranged attack (blaze/cosmic burst/etc.) they'd see a larger population of players making Electric Blasters.
-
The main thing I see that your lacking is hit points, I found the biggest improvement in performance once I broke 2000 HP so here is a cheaper (no purples) version of the build I run. You'll see there is quite literally no defense to speak of whatsoever. It still functions for my needs however because I fight only fire damaging enemies.
