  1. This might not be popular but I like the new changes.

    I play a Force field / Archery defender on Union in RV alot, for a very long time I've had to rely on many underhanded tricks for kills (pillboxes, heavies, longbow mobs), or just be satisfied with being really hard to kill in my personal force field.

    Tonight even with the heroes outnumbered I went out and got 5 kills in about half an hour, all brutes and stalkers, before now I could have spent a good couple of minutes shooting a petless mastermind to kill them and now I can go out there with my non-billion influence build and make a tangible difference.

    The pvp changes get a thumbs up from me.
  2. If its a case of turning salvage into an extra costume slot it must not trigger every time, I did it earlier and waiting over an hour, no zombie invasion
  3. Please can someone help me with the following questions regarding the Rectified Reticle + perception enchancement?

    1) Can I slot just this Enchancement into a power or do I have to take other enchancements from the Rectified Reticle set to gain the + perception?

    2) If I slot the enchancement into Vengeance will I gain the + perception

    a) All of the time

    b) Only when Vengeance is active

  4. Please could someone who has tried both Sleep grenade and LRM from the munitions mastery set, give me an idea what they are like to use?

    I've been trying to weigh up which one of them to slot, I'll got enough slots for only one of them with my build.

    I figure sleep grenades will give me some added control, no redraw time (Its for an Assault Rifle/Devices blaster) and looking at the hero designer I can fire one off roughly every 60 seconds, for a 47 second sleep effect, generally I think it will mesh quite well with my build.

    On the other hand, the LRM missle will add some damage to my build, will look really cool, but the bad sides are weapon redraw time, long recharge and its complete overkill for soloing.

    Any advice?

  6. Its a good idea, which under the right circumstances I would be up for, the only problem I foresee is that some people are going to be paying through the eyeballs to move all there pvp alts to this server (whichever it might be).

    Maybe if the character transfer thing had a "move all" for a set price?

    Btw how much are people paying for complete sets? I have some inf stored up, maybe 70 million-ish between several alts, hope that I won't have to spend that much though .

    Oh one last thing, how does exempting work with inventions? could I jump into SC and still have my set bonuses?

    DOuble FF sets?

    I'm playing a force field defender at the moment because I really can't remember the last time I've seen one above lvl 22, and at lvl 28 now fully SO'ed people are regularly surprised by the defence we can give them.

    To give you abit of ingame experience from last night I was the only defender on a team of 6, 2 scrappers and 3 blasters fighting +2/3's and no-ones health even dipped out of green through several missions, I was well impressed, I even got a tell afterwards from one of the players saying how he used to think bubbles were a wasted power set but is now turned around on the subject.

    As for stacking bubbles with other force fielders, I can't say I've tried this in ages because I haven't seen one, lots of people seem to give up around lvl 22-ish, but I find when teaming with a good empath deaths are extremely rare, as these two sets work really nicely together.
  9. Couple of force field questions with regards to pvp:

    1) Personal Force Field

    I’ve heard off but I’m not sure on the numbers of the defence cap, how does the PFF work with regards to the defence cap, is it under it, or not affected by it, or something else entirely?

    How would defence enhancements affect this in pvp with regards to the defence cap, I read a post on the US forums that recommends 3 SO defence enhancements to reduce risk of being hit to extremely marginal.

    2) Detention Field

    In pvp is this resisted by any status effect protection toggle, also can you use break frees to escape from it?

    Figured out how to get dull pain in there and stealth, quite a squeeze though, I thought about it and plan to get to lvl 50 for those final few extra slots, and just combine a few enchs to get +2's and upgrade using bounty earned +3's for the things I can.

    The build has slowed down to a crawl with my latest mad scheme unfortunately, trying to get quite a few accolades before lvl 30, not doing to bad, at lvl I have 22 force of nature, demonic and invader.

    Now I 'm just working on deathless for high pain threshold, which means getting too debt cap and joining a lower lvl team maelfactoring down to there lvl and working it off, repeat as necessary, its very slow but I'm making progress.

    Lvl 27 I'll start work on Born in battle cause you can't finish getting that till lvl 30 anyway because of a exploration badge you need in warburg.

    And then I'll have + 20% to my hitpoints in sirens, extremely overslotted, full of +2/3's wa-ha-ha! .
  11. I'm playing a Kinetic/Electric defender and I was wondering how well two powers mesh with these sets?

    1) Voltaic Sentinel, not sure about this one, would anyone recommend taking it?

    2) Thunderous Blast, I've read lots of defender guides that are either way about nukes, but not much on this particular nuke when combined with Fulcrum Shift, any advice?

  13. I am trying to get several badges for some accolades kind of early, if anyone is willing to help I'll pay for it.

    I need the following mayhem mission exploration badges:

    Talon of Talos (lvls 30-34)

    Brickhouse (lvls 35-40)

    Anarchist (lvls 41-45)

    Gate crasher (lvls 46-50)

    You get me into the mission, I go get the badge (the character is a stalker and I have maps) I leave the mission and transfer to my main and give you 100k infamy, really easy money.

    The other badge I need is an accomplishment badge called "Bad Luck" its given out at the end of a story arc from the contact Hard Luck (lvl 30-35) if you can get me through that mission I'll give you 150k.

    I know not everyone is interested in infamy however so I willing cut a deal for any supergroup that needs a little more prestige.

    I prefer solo, but get me the badges and I'll join your supergroup till lvl 24 in supergroup mode (I'm also going for the deathless 5 million debt badge so thats going to be a long time) and you'll gets loads of free prestige.

Reading through all the suggestions and advice (Thanks everyone by the way), I think I'll be switching out barrage for energy punch which is a bit harder an attack, definitely won't be getting rid of stealth though [img]/uk/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img], I would have liked dull pain but the build is just to tight for it and will have to try and make do without.

    Captain, this build is all about racking up kills, fast and as dishonest as possible, I have a lvl 45 brute which will only be going to 47 like Biowar, who is built for sirens when I feel like a fair fight.

    I Think I've just about squeezed everything I need in there, in hero builder it lists hide with a 7.55% def, so with that 3 slotted it becomes 11.88%, with stealth running I get mildly respectable 14.4% def against everything but psionics and toxic.

    The basic none complicated plan is to build up/assassin strike, then hit for energy transfer which I hope should finish off most heroes.

    Oh I like a nice fast recharge on hasten but I'm open on useful things to do with those 2 extra slots.

    I should point out I build pvp builds based on the fact I'll be staying in sirens so theres no point in slotting anything over level 30, oh and I'll only be going to level 47 so I can keep +3's in my enhancements.

    Bit odd perhaps but I really enjoy that zone, and want to get the most of the toons I take there.

    So let me get this clear in my head, tp'ing people in mobs is petitionable, if you repeatedly go for the same person/few people, gloat about how you've put them in debt, or do so with the intention of putting them in debt (not sure how your supposed to tp someone into a mob without giving them debt under the new system though).

    For example, I go into sirens tomorrow and start tp'ing every hero I come across into mobs, not singling anyone out just any hero I can find, and I don't make any comments to anyone about it, no gloating and no apologies, simply using the most efficient way I have of killing heroes, is that petitionable?

    Surprisingly enough /ignore also blocks supergroup invites so /ignore everyone until you can make your own group, just for you.

    Done this with every alt worked pretty well so far.

  24. Uhm there are rules already posted for PVP in at least one zone anyway "Its heroes vs villains" posted by statesman himself about Recluses victory.

    To be honest I think this applies to everywhere except Warburg where its "everyone for themselves".

    Don't get me wrong it would be nice for the devs to clear PVP up, make people play nice, but they aren't going to, so its easier to just accept [censored] people.
  25. Yeah I felt the same way a couple of weeks back, so I started building Mind/Psi dom for pvp, specifically in Sirens, lvl 22 now so getting near ready.

    Problem I'm finding at the moment, is being neither non stalker or brute is that EVERY hero goes for you first, there can be lots of villains around and I still seem to die first, fortunately I kinda anticipated this and phase shift is planned in my build, just need too get him to a higher level now.
