  1. So glad I'm not the only one who is having issues with this hardwired keybind.

    I did try all of the suggestions listed above, but to no avail. I even tried switching keys around, only to find that the alt+. on the numpad will not stay bound for me (another bug?)

    Recently (like a few issues ago), a keybind was added (alt+enter/alt+enter+1) to allow going from windowed to full-screen mode and vice-a-versa, but when I sent a petition to support regarding this, they told me they didn't know this was even there and eventually confirmed it did exist.

    I have looked through the Keybinds to see if I could change this, but it's not there and there is no way of changing this annoying keybind. The problem is that I have certain keybinds to perform some actions that are very close to this, and very frequently I find my screen going from windowed/fullscreen/windowed in the middle of battles.

    But..... before anyone starts suggesting I change all my key-binds, I really don't want too. I have been playing for over 7 years and used the same keymappings on all my characters. This would be a real inconvenience to me.

    Can you developers either remove this keybind or add it to the list of keymapping options, so I can change it myself.............. Purty please?

    Most of what you have mentioned will work in Sirens pretty well.
  5. The only way you will break up a hero snuggle and cuddle is through teamwork and nothing else, being the lone ranger won’t break one up, as you will only end up dead very quickly and you will have died for nothing.

    Zylo is fun, I have seen his build and it is expensive. When I asked him why he didn't have a travel power, he said 'I don't need a travel power in here' and laughed. I think both his brutes and tanks are kind of 'tongue in cheek' alts and he knows it.

    There is another tank in Sirens called 'G-Ternal' and he is totally different from Zylo. He is a dm/wp tank with loads HP, regen and defence and it can be funny watching 4-5 stalkers taking forever to kill him.

    I'm using part of this build for a new stalker I'm making, just one thing, Numina's Convalescence - Heal in HPT? Wouldn't you be better off using a normal Heal IO instead of this one? 60mil compared to 500k? They both give the same % of heal as far as I can see.

    All in all, please nerf glad jav procs, and give me 7 first.

    And just go back to i12 pvp, thanks.

  8. Could someone tell me if the placate pro in psy is actually broken or is this working as intended? The reason I am asking is this, I seem to be getting placated every single time when fighting psy blasters.

    So if it is working as intend, then I think that it is a tad 'too much' and if it is broken, when can we expect a fix?

Today In sirens I was playing around on my lil dom and I was fighting two heroes, one was a Warshade and the other was a spine/dark scrapper. so, I kills the Warshade and I'm down to half my life and now I’m one on one with the Scrapper. He gets me down to a smidgen of my life bar, so I pops two greens and I'm right back up to near full life and carry on fighting.

    Next thing the scrapper pops phase and says 'lol weak. You're weak' and I'm like wtf? So the convo goes like this:

    Me: If I'm weak why did you pop phase'
    Scrapper: Because you popped
    Me: Too right I popped, I was about to die
    Scrapper: Because you're weak.
    Me: What? I'm supposed to stand there and let you kill me?
    Scrapper: You had to pop because you’re weak, why bother coming into a pvp zone if you're just going to pop like that?
    Me: lol you have to be joking right? I wasn't the one that phased on a scrapper to a weak dom.
    Scrapper: If you’re good, you wouldn't need to pop!
    Me: I was fighting two of you on my own lol

    Anyway, he continued to moan about me popping two greens and calling me weak.

    For all my time I have played in Sirens, I have never recalled any such rules about popping a couple of greens and I have never had a dev sending me a warning that it is against the PVP rules.

    So... is using inps in a pvp zone totally acceptable?
  10. The other day in Sirens we had some heroes who thought it was funny to tp-foe people out of the villain base and spike then and yet nothing was said about this. So, I decided to get my EA stalker out and started to tp-foe them into the base instead, and that is when all hell broke loose.

    I find it funny that the care bears starting whining about me doing it to them. Don't want to get droned, don't come near the base and you won't happen to you. It doesn't take rocket science to know how to stop being TP'd in the first place.

    I"m only guessing at your second problem here, but try using ALT TAB to select the correct version of CIty you want instead of just clicking on the taskbar area.
    Thanks everyone for your help. I guessed that this was a Windows 7 and drivers problem. So far I have tried quite a few Nvidia driver versions, and so far nothing has worked for me.

    I even tried Alt Tab and that doesn't work for me either.

    One thing I did find out was this, If I open a browser (I use firefox) when I can't swap between screens and drag it around the taskbar and I can sometimes resolve the issue. Sometimes just rebooting will help as well.

    I well try the CMD to lower the frame rate while inactive. Thanks for this tip.

    So looks like it will be windowed from now on then. Even though I prefer fullscreen.

    I really hope you guys can help with this annoying issue I seem to be having with COH right at this moment.
    I recently upgraded my computer and I originally had windows XP installed, but I just installed Windows 7 a few months back and this is when this issue started. My graphics card is an Nvidia Geforce 9 GT and I have all the latest drivers for windows and the graphics card (196.21). Running 4 meg of memory. (2.76 as only on a 32 bit OS).

    When I run to accounts on the same computer (this one) I seem to have two issues that could somehow be related to Windows 7 or/and the Nvidia driver.

    1. When switching back and forth from each account the screen will freeze, yet everything will carry on as per normal. I have to press the ‘Start’ key on the keyboard and re-click anywhere on the screen and I return to COH normally.

    2. The second issue is sometimes when switching back and forth between two accounts, I can switch to the secondary one, but when I click on the screen it takes me back to the first one and I need to log out of them both and start again in order to get the two accounts to work correctly.

    Has anyone else encountered this or am I the only one?

  13. 1. Capped the XP to the same or as less as 'normal' missions,
    2. Removed auto SK,
    3. Limited the spawn sizes and amount of bosses per map?
    4. Finally, Made maps only available to zones of that lvl?

  14. While I know this is nothing compared to the OP, this still reminds me of a funny time doing freak missions with my friends and SG.

    I was playing my spine/sr scrapper doing freaks with a 8 person team and they were +4 to me. We didn't have a tank on the team and as a joke, I was asked if I would like to try herding them. So I laughed and said ok. I started off with a few, herd no problems and then we gathered some pace and were doing just dandy.

    Well, I wanted to see how much my little girl could take, so I herded more and more each time and I did this and we had the few odd deaths here and there, until the last room. I think I practically hered every Freak in there and the team wipeout started and I was the last one standing.

    I was lucky that I was on a team with friends and SG members, or I would have been kicked I guess, but they all thought this was funny and I was asked not to tank on my scrapper again unless I got taunt in future.

    I still grin about that to this day and I miss all my old friends (they have all left the game) when I think about this.

    To be really honest? I'm getting that way myself now in Sirens. Everytime I go into there, all you here is 'Anyone want to duel?'     Personally, I don't understand this sentiment at all. In there, you are free from interruptions, and you can choose to use temps, inspirations or not, and can even remove much of the hated i13 crap like speed suppression.

    I don consider myself as experienced or on the same level as most of you guys, but recently I have been playing in the arena with my VG, and I have to be honest, I am loving it there now. The duels are totally different than in zones. You have much more freedom to fight and no one cries foul if you pop an inspiration or accolade. You know that you have to use them at the right time or end up being out of them when you need them most.

    There is nothing more boring than standing toe to toe button bashing it out.

    Right now, Sirens is nothing but a Blaster/tank infested place. Mainly fire, sonic and psy and with devs as a secondary.     Another example would have to be Slows. Stormies, Colds, Ice have been reduced to a ghost of their former self's. When you applied Snow storm on someone, you knew it would reduce their speed down by the percentage said, but now, players hardly notice that it is on them, all except their recharge speed goes down slightly (Even this can be countered with IO's now). So what is the point of bringing a chocolate gun to a gun fight, in the mid day sun?

    All I can say is that all the sense in pvp has been knocked out. As someone who doesn't regard herself as a great player like many of the people I know, at least I know that skill mattered in PVP before. You had to read the game, understand what was needed to best defeat the other team. Now, it is just a 'Gank feast' of damage, and with players that previously who would never have stood a chance, getting kills the don't deserve.

  18. What a sad state of affairs this is.

    So, what is the whole point of this? Do you actually have any real agenda or is it lets just gank the people who duel in zones because they piss you off?

    From what I have seen so far, it sounds more like a bunch of children with bad attitudes. No wonder the developers refuse to take the pvp community with any respect or take us seriously when they see garbage like this.

    Don't get me wrong, while I whole heartily agree that when you are in a PVP zone, expect to get attack and don't whine about it if you do. There shouldn't be any rules expect the ones enforced by the developers.

    So what is your point behind this? If it is to throw your weight around like some big bad bully, then you fail badly. Instead, why don't you do something more worth while, by trying to promote the use of arena, with holding tournaments, ladders, and maybe trying to educate newer PVPers the benefits and how this could help with their PVP skills, then you might actually be helping this ailing community, instead of helping drag it further down the toilet.
  19. I would just like to know how they can even dare delete peoples' alt for leveling to fast. They put the mechanics into the game and couldn't be bothered to beta test the design properly (Or probably more due to the fact the managed to piss off all the beta testers they had).

    So, rather than put in the man hours into correcting this, it is far to easy for them to spend countless hours looking through loads of data mined information, than fix the real issue and problems.

    From my non-PvPer perspective, having a completely different set of rules for PvP makes me even less likely to try it out. I don't know if it makes it more casual friendly or not, but the very idea that my character will function completely differently in PvP is a point against it in my book. So if it was done to entice non-PvPers into PvP, my guess (having absolutely no data) is that it was a failure. Same with the PvP IOs, which appear (again with absolutely no data to back this up) to have done nothing but encourage PvP farming rather than actual PvP.

    I can't believe I'm complaining about changes that don't even affect me, but yeah. Even as a complete outsider, it sounds like it's taken an already poor add on feature and made it worse.     They basically shut off their brains and reverted to something Stateman claimed a loooooong time ago. Basically, that players don't care about numbers at all.

    That is how new pvp is designed. You go in and if you completely turn off all existing knowledge of how things should be and just play it is actually kind of newbie friendly. Or least a bit more than i12.

    However, that makes a mightly large assumption that people won't realize things are completely different and that some of their best pve attacks are now their worst pvp attacks. So in the end if said newbie has even a tiny bit of existing knowledge new pvp becomes MORE unfriendly than in early issues.

    I have no idea what they were thinking as it goes in the exact opposite direction that the rest of the game has been moving in with more and more transparency:

    I totally agree with every part of your post. I don't think I am a newbie, however I don't generally figure to well when it comes to stats and IO's, but I do notice a big difference to how my character behaves in PVP compared to PVE.

    If the developers want to attract new players to PVP, I seriously think they have done everything within their powers to actually put new people off and now they have resorted to bribing people with the new PVP IO's in order to bring them in and keep them. I think that will only work for so long.

    I cannot for the life of me remember how many times I have had to explain to new comers when they ask 'Why are my powers all different?' and this will continue to this game goes under (Which I fear might not be that far away now).

    I know that Castle hates Spines, he has more or less said that he wants to totally change the AT, but I think he remember the outcry there was the last time. Maybe not so much now as most of the old school have gone, so maybe he is judging the changes with PVP, as to how far he can go with PVE in this matter? I guess we will wait and see.

    But, it looks like this girl will be 'hanging up her spine/wp' that I have worked on and had so much fun with over the last two years. I think there is only so many respecs and adapting a person can do before they realize it is a lost cause.

  22. For the last year and a half I have mainly played spine/wp in Sirens and she is an alt I feel most comfortable playing now.

    However, over the last few months I feel I am now being forced to 'hang up spines' due the the increasing amount of nerfs and the changes to damage that Spines has when in PVP. I find it ironic that if I want to deal any real damage, I have to use a tier 1 pool power from Speed or Kick from Fighting pool. I will not do this out of principle.

    I would like to ask Castle how he can justify they low amount of damage thats Spine does now and considering 'Doms' even with their tier 1 powers can out damage a Spines tier 8?

    I'm not asking for a massive increase to Spines, but just to have the PVE damage in PVP would be good enough for many spine users and many of those who have been forced into using FOTM alts, just do some damage.

    Castle, it is really sad when you're forcing spine users into temps and power pools to do some decent damage. Care to explain why please?

  23. I have a SS/Fire brute, today I noticed that when I have rage on auto it will fail to auto the power and I have to manually click it to actually work.

    I have tried other powers like hasten and they work fine (it will auto no problem).

    Is this a known bug or issue?

    Edit: Actually, I have now tried to auto 'burn' and 'Consume' and the auto fails to trigger.

    Dark did you even read any of the other posts in this topic? I very much doubt it with your own post.

    I did some tests yesterday with a few stalker friends of mines, each time I was able to interrupt their AS quite easily. So I guess the times that I failed maybe as someone suggests more down to lag spikes during game play than any other factor.

    Regarding RTTC and it's ability to bring stalkers out of hide, wasn't this a bug? I seem to remember (around issue 11 or 12) that this was removed? I might be wrong, but I am sure this might me the case.

    I will go test this just to be a 100% sure

    Antigonus hit it on the head though, once the initial check is done the only that can change is whether they stalker is hidden or not. I've begun many AS's that ended up being 200pt gut checks because I was hit during AS but it never interrupted just didn't crit.

    At best you can hope for that I suppose, but interrupting AS would be a hulluva accomplishment and a credit to your ping and rig

    Yet why after two years of doing it in Sirens, both on Infinity and Freedom, so why would It start just doing it since issue 14?

    I normally have a few lapses, like when I'm typing to someone in zone (then I deserver it), spiked or double teamed or I am watching TV, but generally I will interrupt an AS if I am ready and waiting for it.

    When it happens again, I guess I will post my combat logs, would that help?
