CoHHelper and Hijackthis

An invasion event wouldn't be bad if it were not like the current invasion events but more of a new GM spawn that takes place in different zones. Currently if a Zombie or Rikti event happens then there is no safe place in the entire zone. Wherever you are the fight comes to you with the exceptions of indoors or under cover. A proper Praetorian event should pop up at one location only like the GM spawns do. A portal pops up and PPD pop out and set up a perimeter. If they aren't defeated then they just hang around. If they are then a tougher wave comes out. If that goes down and etc...

Final stage, a War Walker comes out. If defeated then then event ends. If not then it begins to patrol the zone. It could follow a set path like the Rikti bombers that is set to avoid the player gathering locations like city hall, tram, Wentworths and such. While the walker is patrolling the zone is considered under Praetorian control. The billboards are replaced with their counterparts and clockwork begin showing up and cleaning.

So this gives us something that is good for players and the game. A new GM which just happens to be a giant robot. Plus it would give players who haven't purchased GR a sneak peak at what it's like. They can see and fight the PPD, Praetorian Clockwork, and a War Walker.

The code for the increasingly tough multiple spawns followed by the GM is already in use in Croatoa. The GM which spawns then leaves its location for another one is already in use in KR.

And there is already a separate forum for suggestions which this thread should probably be moved to.

And if you had an Aion account a bunch of those got hacked which of course ties into your master ncsoft account.

I don't mind improper grammar. After all not everybody is highly educated or typing in their native language or completely without learning defect.

On the other hand I despise text speak. Text speak in a situation where one is not pressed for time is much like using ***** speak in everyday life.

Do you say "I'm heading to the store to get groceries. Do you want me to pick up anything for you?" or in order to save a few seconds of time do you say "Me go store. You want?"?

Update your video drivers IMMEDIATELY

You are currently using the bad drivers that nvidia has since withdrawn which cause severe video card overheating.

Vexen. Get this program and run it CoHHelper then cut and paste the information here. That will tell us what video card you have.

But this sounds like either seriously outdated drivers or else an on board graphics chip rather than an actual video card.

Like it was said above, the 430 isn't a gaming card. It's really fairly low end.

The problem many people have is in thinking that just because a video card is a brand new release that it must be better than the card that they have had for a few years. Oddly it's unlikely anybody would make that mistake with cars. Nobody is likely to trade in their 10 year old Mustang for a brand new Honda Insight with the idea that since the Insight is newer it must be much faster and more powerful.

And yes AG, it's entirely possible that the 430 could be quickly overheating even though it's a brand new card. Some cards are stressed much more by opengl and it just may be that the 430 is one of them.

At any rate. Before "upgrading" a video card it's a good idea to check out this page http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html or something similar. Just a quick look shows that the 430 is about the same power as a 7950 GT which was a decent though not top end card 4 years ago.

when you put in a support ticket you are asked to create a new account. NCSoft keeps two or more separate account and password combinations. One is your master account. One is your city of heroes game and forum account (what you use to log in here and in game). If you create a support ticket then you have to create a third account/password combination. It's possible that when you logged into support you created an account/password combination that was slightly different.

sounds like impending video card failure. Particularly the triangles. Monitor your temperatures to see if your video card is overheating.

Definitely overheating. And if it's been happening a lot then the card is probably now damaged to the point that it will definitely fail before too long. If you can't afford a new card right now then the best thing to do is use speedfan or some other GPU control program and set the fan speed to 100% when playing the game. I managed to eke out an extra two months gameplay on my old 7900gt that way.

But above all else open up the case and make sure all the dust is cleared out and that the fan on the card is spinning when powered up.

It was ok. Definitely has some potential. However whoever is handling the music needs to learn the meaning of unobtrusive. While most of the score works well there are a couple times when the music is so out of place and in your face that it takes you right out of the show. It's like putting in training montage music at a time when there is no montage.

I don't believe it is a physical limitation so much as a law. It's a rule put in place by Rassilon. No more time lords = no more time lord rules = no more limit on regenerations.

Run CoHHelper and Hijackthis. Both should be free.

In the meantime add -compatiblecursors to the end of your desktop shortcut

So if it looks like this "C:\Program Files (x86)\City of Heroes\cohupdater.exe"

Change it to this "C:\Program Files (x86)\City of Heroes\cohupdater.exe" -compatiblecursors

The one thing I'm really dreading is that Riley will show up on the created planet and somebody else who is near death will have a vision of the place. There they will see Riley and also TJs baby which will give a sort of pseudo validation to their vision. In other words I worry that the execs have ordered the writers to work in a sort of pseudo religion/mystical aspect because BSG had the whole angels thing and it was popular.

BlueMyth. Don't worry about what is the friendliest server. Compared to WoW all of them are friendly. Most servers have at least a few of those obnoxious "Lrn 2 pla noob!" types but there are almost always incredibly helpful types as well. My preferred server is Virtue.
