Yeah, thats a silly myth. It's just that Freedom and Virtue have more forum users than some of the smaller servers, thus we hear about those visits with more frequency.
-
Yeah I'm not sure about the AVGN movie. His profanity has thankfully matured with him though so perhaps it won't be that bad.
I'd still like to see him make a cameo in one of Freddie's projects though. -
I thought he closed his shop a few years back though?
-
I'd created a superhero way back when I was 14 called Maestro.
Had little to do with music though, rather he forced his own evolution and in doing so became Master of this reality. Able to bend reality to his will
I used Maestro in many games from then on.
So natually, when I picked up this gem and finally decided on Energy/Energy Blaster I rolled him up and typed in the name...
Name invalid? I just figured someone else already had the name (I took full pleasure in handing the AV Maestro his pink slip as soon as I found him. Teach you to take my name!)
Anyways, I was really into Roman culture at that time so one of the 1st names that came to mind was Sytavian. Though I didn't like the way Maestro Sytavian flowed.
So Mavius (May-V-Us) was born!
These days, I go by Mavius in most every game I play. -
I want to fight Dinosaurs. (Disclaimer: I know that would require a new 4legged skeleton)
I'd love to have some mysterious portal to prehistory open up and threaten the entire universe for various reasons.
I'm seeing jungles, sorta like Eden but more tropical. With various Dinosaurs around.
I just think that would be more stimulating than a Moon Base zone. When I think of the moon I think of 2 colors total. Grey and lighter grey. Other than SJ being applied to everyone (for reduced gravity) and perhaps a vanguard type base I just have never seen the appeal of a Moon Zone. Just me though, I know its bar none the #1 requested zone so...
...I won't be shocked at all when the new zone in Issue 21 is yet another cityscape. -
What your suggesting is actually already in the game. We call them Inventions though. I'm being serious.
Way back when Jack was still Statesman he was working forever on the much touted, highly anticipated skill system. This skill system was to augment our natural abilities and give us some leeway in broadening our roles. Things like Spy gear, Computer Hacking, Magic potions and the like.
From what I recall, the speculation was the skill system would work like a combination of enhancements and temp powers. Someone that focused on the Barter skill for example would get discounts at the tailor and stores.
He worked on the skill system for well over a year and half before finally realizing it just wouldn't work in this game. So it was altered and reimaged for another year+ then finally.
Finally, the Invention system was announced. Much to the shock of the forums. We had never heard of this Invention system! What happened to the lauded Skill system?
So Jack came down from on high to tell us the tale of woe. How he was unable to properly balance the skills for all AT's and thus it was scrapped for the simpler to use and code IO's.
Just FYI. -
The problem with the suggestions section is this game is 7 years old.
At this point it's like Southpark>Simpsons. It's all been suggested multiple times in the past.
So you have a few diehard vets that patrol the section like predators stalking game waiting for the next inevitable (and it will happen) unaware poster that thinks his idea for vehicles in game is the most original thing ever! Then they make the suggestion, are shot down in flames (usually with a polite yet snarky copypaste and proceed to get overly defensive because, maybe we haven't seen it from their view yet...
So, I have no problem with people posting suggestions outside of that PvP zone.
Though, you gotta /facepalm sometimes when those threads come up and the poster doesn't want to hear the valid reasons. -
Indeed, our current OCR have been much more active than in the past. I can't begin to express how happy I am at the new crew with Z and Beasty really doing a great job at keeping this community in good spirits.
The Ustream chats have been wonderful. It's a great feeling seeing the sincere excitement as they relay news to us and in general just relate to us on our level.
As far as actual Dev participation ingame, can't say I've noticed any more than normal, save the recent Praetorian events. That's to be expected though, as I'm sure they are plenty busy atm.
In short, Keep up the good work guys!! -
I think they opened the slopes on Freedom after the event back on the 27th. Perhaps they forgot to seal the dimensional rift afterwards.
-
*Overly mushy praise of our community with words like Best and Epic.

Besides, I've been a gamer long enough to understand that in COH Dungeons=Maps, Quests= Missions, Equipment= Enhancements/IO's etc.
So using broad definitions serves his purpose of evaluating players of MMO's as a whole while still singling in on this game. -
Only group I'm sure of that is weak to fire would be the Banished Pantheon. Probably others but this is the only one I'm positive on.
That said, shoot me your @Global and I'll email you 10 million or so to help with your bankroll. -
Done, took less than a minute for me.
-
Not to mention pulling some of those outfits on in less than 4 minutes.
Very cool. -
Welcome to the game.
Can't tell ya how big I smiled when I read you couldn't find Frosty! Us veterans have 'arrested' him well over 10,000 times or more and as a result have the layout memorized. To remember what it was like the 1st time is a treat!
I still recall that rush to 14 for Fly. To me, that level has always been where the actual game starts. Well, that and level 22 for SO's.
Edited to add: I didn't see it mentioned, since your looking forward to flying. Head over to Kings Row and run a few radio missions for the safeguard mission. When you beat the safeguard mission you'll get a Raptor Jetpack that lasts for 2 hours! (more than enough time to get to 14) -
*Attempt at humorous reply fails due to uncontrolled laughter. With winky for added post length.
*Passing reference to best thread evah cliche, extra points for use of 'you win an internet lolpic.

Wow Mondo...
Did you collect all these over a few months and then just posted all at once or you doing all these 'on the fly'?
It's like you've opened your suggestions notebook and poured out a years worth overnight.
By the by, love the Rush avatar. One of my ex gf's nearly ripped my hand off as she got that tattooed on her shoulder. -
Here's a thought.
The Dev's would never release the Incarnate goodies in a booster because it's their incentive for us stalwarts to get into the endgame and they want it to be hard to attain by default, so you spend longer trying to get said rewards and thus are an able body ready for the trial for all the others out there still chugging along.
So they wouldn't let us pay for it outright because it would defeat the very purpose it was designed for. If we can simply lay down 10 bucks and be done with it.
So...
What if they did release an Incarnate booster that inlcuded the armor and aura's but charged $60.00 for it?
That way they wouldn't be giving it away, most people would look at that price and laugh before running a few more trials, but it would give the option for those diehards that really want the stuff without the hassle or simply don't have a 50.
More money is more money.
Would those in this thread that want a booster be for it if the price was something astronomical? Because that's what they're wanting it to represent both in look and time spent in game.
Just a thought. -
Indeed, this new 'must enter melee' bug came around with the release of Demon's. I do recall a post by a redname saying they had to tweak the code so Demons would work.
Thing is, before the change for Demons, MM's still suffered a similar bug. Only instead of charging into melee, this bug made melee pets stick at range. Been that way as long as I can recall. I had to create a specific bind for my Grave Knights so they would actually use swords instead of spamming gloom at point blank range...
The new bug fixed that problem for my Necro but in return broke my poor little robots. I'd rather have it the way it was before honestly.
I'm not saying I feel like we'd be overpowered, I'm saying I think that's the Dev's viewpoint because they've never acknowledged it's a bug. Though I can see their reasoning. I know my MM's are the most powerful toons I have in game atm and if I could lock my pets in a certain location and then go to town...
I'm seeing my MM running around like mad so Protean follows me constantly while my bots blast him from every corner of the room kinda being their reason for leaving it.
Demon's broke more than the Ai though. MM's had a list of issues for a bit after that. Though the drop dead when dismissed bug did prove useful for soul extraction purposes, it was still a bug. In fact, they fixed numerous MM issues after Demon's yet have never mentioned the Ai being wonky as a bug. That's where my theory comes from. -
Quote:I'm pretty sure this is how Warburg has always been, in fact I'm positive as my Blaster got ganked by an 8 man hero team the 1st time I went in.If anything, I would love to see one of those zones rededicated to full on "Free For All", everyone vs everyone combat!
As for the idea, yeah it'd be really cool, if we had a PvP population. As it stands though the majority of them jumped ship after Issue 13 destroyed their fun. Have you tried to PvP in zone these days? Confusing isn't it?
Like others have mentioned. This game was actually designed to not have PvP. I started playing 2 weeks before the arena's came out with Issue 4 and I can tell you that PvP in this game has never been all that popular.
As not having it was a selling point to begin with, then got shoehorned in with the anticipated launch of CoV and well...
/Unsigned unless they fix the mechanics of PvP first. -
You have to wonder if all the ones so adamant about complaining about the complainers were to avoid the threads that bother them so much if those threads would be getting so large.
As it is we have a portion of the forum upset over certain issues and the other half of the forum getting sick of hearing about it. I say, quit antagonizing them if you want it to stop.
If every thread on the subject was nothing but the same few posters all high fiving each other for being in complete agreement... The thread wouldn't last that long.
Then you have to add your voice to the chorus which in turn invites them to try and hammer their point home even further, dragging out the same reasons back and forth ad naseum.
If you don't like the thread, don't read it. There is no need to fan the flames after your intital /disagree post.
*This isn't singling anyone particular out, just a trend I'm seeing. -
Have you seen the alternate animation for X-ray eyes?
Lasers do look cool!
Perhaps it'd be easier to add a similar animation to Energy attacks. -
One problem...
Positron absolutely hates Clowns, for realz.
(at least thats the reason I remember being given when I suggested a clown summoning set years back. Though honestly, it's probably just to limited in overall appeal.)
I just figured they could throw together a bunch of Carnival npcs and call it a day. -
It's happened to me and it was indeed very amusing.
I was on my Dark Melee scrapper jumping through Croatoa when I saw a group pounding on Jack. I ran up to his feet to start wailing on him when his club comes flying past me to hit the tank. Next thing I knew I was flying backwards over 100 ft! I landed on my back and took a screenshot.
I think it was a bug, or aoe kb, I'm still not sure. Was very exciting though!

Thing is, since they were so quick to acknowledge and correct the MM issues with the trials it has me questioning if this is an actual 'bug' or is WAI.
To my knowledge, I've never seen a redname comment about it ever.
More than likely, it's left in to ensure we aren't overpowered. Honestly, MM's are very formidable even while suffering the bug. It's just now with the +4 mobs that it's starting to weaken us thus the proposed level shift for pets.
When you think about it. If we had that level of control over the pets we could break the game. Even more so with Incarnate powers.
This is why I doubt it'll ever really go away.
I could be wrong, feel free to point out a dev statement that it's being looked at. I'd like to be able to play my bots/storm without the little buggers turning into scrappers. I just don't think it's a bug like everyone else.
