Quote:I think that Virtue's typically three hami raids every other day, with zones that fill up 30 mins - 1 hour before the scheduled time ,says otherwise. Hell, it seems Hami attendance is INCREASED.
- Hami raids used to happen every week. Now they're non-existant. Ergo, the game is dying.
Now if we could only do that redside. -
I dont even run WoC on my blaster until I hit 50 and used the Purple Confuse proc, otherwise its just a fodder for set bonuses.

Quote:Its a old power from beta, Prot bots used to have dispersion bubbles, but the devs thought that was too powerful (for good reason), but instead of deleted it, they just made it so the prot bots will never use it.Thanks for the clue regarding using Unspecified...works much better.
NOW, for another related and extremely key question.
Per Red Tomax, with Upgrade the Prot Bots receive Dispersion Bubble as one of their powers. I was rather counting on that for extra defense and mez prot. However, I've have Upgrade for several levels now and I've NEVER seen them throw up a Dispersion Bubble. Is this a bug, or a change, or a misprint/mistaken piece of data on CoD?
Further, although they will place a Force Shield each on every other bot for a total of two, they will only Force Shield me once. WAI or a bug?
Also one Bubble for you is WAI, they dont want robot MMs getting 20% free defense. -
Quote:Then there is the fact of the Hasten crash, using Lingering Rad for EB/AVs and etc, all of this adds up when you are running so many toggles, and expensive ones at that.AM isn't even close to perma, 45 seconds or so of downtime. But, yes, I still have problems. The reason I have problems is as follows: I get more recovery from AM, but it also speeds up my attack chain, I also use Hasten to bring AM back faster, which speeds up my chain more. Between that and my toggles, I'm okay, but if I need to use my heal on top of that is when I run into problems.
I don't have the cash for purples, otherwise I would likely not be having these issues, since they have recovery as the 2 slot and recharge as the 5 slot bonuses. -
It isnt as common as say fire/kin or ill/rad, but yeah it is one of THE powersets combos that show off the power of super teams and the like. (and most people cite fire/rad superteams when explaining the power of superteams)

Iirc, isn't the target of AS, the caster of demoralize? So if all the stalkers hit 8 different targets, the effects should stack because the casters of demoralize aren't the same? If this is true, then it obviously wouldn't work on a AV, since you would have only one target to AS. (unless it had other mobs in the spawn)
-
You could build a spine/dark to solo AVs, but it would be infinitely easier to take other builds and do the same. Trying to survive and kill one hard target is the direct opposite of what Spine/Dark was made for. :P

Quote:If slows are a reason for saying that frozen aura is worse because "it reduces their fury" then Stone/Dark brutes must be abominations to the holy institution that is Fury.
Of course earlier you managed to take my comments on the difference rage makes being partly mitigated on brutes by fury and ice being full of slows that tend to prevent you building fury; and turned it into me saying "Brutes don't get it, thusly it sucks"...
IE. If a brute with a primary that has mitigration (normally KD, Footstomp, fault) + Dark armors mez auras, have no problems with generating fury, then every brute should have no problem. -
You all crazy Scrappers *shakes head* These builds make my head spin and cry at the same time...which is why i don't try and just stick to my MMs and Corrs. >_>

Pets never do, which is why on pylon DPS tests, MMs and builds that focus on pet damage, get a large range in their times for each trial due to how random Pets are compared to players.

Quote:People that do so for AVs are either:When SR builds can solo AVs and TFs without Aid Self, it's easy to see why some people think they can get more benefit out of two other powers than 2 medicine powers. A lot of that comes down to mind set, sometimes I really don't want to stop the carnage, just because I may get hit 2 more times and have to pop an awaken. From my experiences with SR, the amount of times I really need a Self Heal isn't worth the investment, or more so the loss of two other powers I'm using considerably more.
1. Dark Melee and have Siphon Life as their main heal (and good damage power)
2. Use Greens for their healing needs (but that violates many peoples personal rule about no insps/temp powers for AV soloing)
3. Are insanely lucky and the AV didnt hit them once/more then once.
4. Have an extreme build designed for regen + max hp AND don't get hit twice in a row so they can regen back the damage they take in time.
For everyone else, Aid Self, is a shortcut that makes thing easier (no need for greens / luck) or fill in the gap (not Dark melee), and doesn't want to spend forever making an extreme build that doesn't need Aid Self)
(This is all in the thought process of soloing AVs, disregard for normal play)
Edit:
Btw if you check the scrapper forums, the general consensus is that X/SR (generally Fire/) + Aid Self is the easiest way to make an AV soloing melee toon. (generally very cheap as well) -
Quote:For Soldiers, I would really want to hear the really really really good reason a person would not take a 15% defense toggle and take something else, not to mention that it gives the defense to everyone else, I really would. So I could get a laugh before I /facepalm.Obviously one choice in a game decides of someone's intelligence. *roll eyes*
That topic is a beaten and re-beaten dead horse. Some people don't take X power in Y set and people wonder why.
1) They don't know much about the power.
2) They have a good reason to skip it and you should ask THEM, not random people on the forum. =p -
Quote:For a Bot/ MM -KB is gold, it allows you to keep mobs from being scatter due to the various KB attacks of the henchmen, which means more burning patch damage. The other immobilizes would be work better with the other primariesWhy do you say that Electrifying Fences is the best immob? Compare to Web Envelope:
Electrifying Fences
range 40
radius 10
end 12.7
recharge 20s
duration 17.9s
cast 1.17s
accuracy 75%
Web Envelope
range 80
radius 15
end 12.7
recharge 20s
duration 17.9s
cast 2s
accuracy 78.8%
It looks to me like Web Envelope is better on range and (critically) radius. The accuracy bonus is not that big of a deal. It loses out on cast time, but that's a fair trade. The larger radius of Web Envelope translates to more than twice the area covered (707 vs 314).
Plus you can get Web Envelope earlier and without any prerequisites, which is nice if you don't want Static Discharge or Charged Armor.
Also, almost every MM worth their salt gets at least the epic shield from the patron set, res shields stack with BG-Mode and many MMs build for defense and Scorp Shield helps. -
Quote:If he didnt, soloing those would be impossible, even if he had enough dps to overcome the regen, it would take AGES to actually kill the GM.Also, if you look in the Team Flag/Search box, Silverado has typed "Fire/Ment/Force".
Hell of an impressive feat. I'm imagining that you weren't running into and out of melee range to use Drain Psyche for the -Regen (since that seems like suicide) ?
(you need around 360+ dps to overcome GM regen, and highest end DPS builds have only broken 300+ dps so far in practice) -
-
Actually that is false, a Cold with minor global recharge and/or Hasten can double stack sleet for a duration, which doubles the -res compared to rad, and when Heat Loss is up, it triples compared to rad (which then makes the -dmg even better)
Also while Benumb isnt perma without massive global recharge, it has -special, which would completely destroy the special effects of any of those annoying AVs. (especially with PBU)
Cold/sonic for -res stacking <3 -
Quote:Actually, my bot/dark runs with about 25-30ish defense to the three positions and when i lay all my debuffs down, Darkest Night, Fearsome Stare, with Fluffy standing next to the target, the AV/GM has the lowest chance to hit be possible for their mob class.
The non protector bots have about 30% defenses, you've got more than 30% defenses and 43% resistance to a few types, the pets have decent resists as well. You've got taunt to keep things on you, and enough -tohit to effectively softcap yourself against anything that isn't an AV, AVs sadly will turn your Tohit debuffs into practically nothing, but thats what bodyguard and healing are for. -
Quote:Virtue is basically the same, besides the fact that our raid days are set and tend to alternate sides every other day. (makes it easy for most people to attend at least one of each raid a week)Justice raiding is nothing like that. We post it in the two most widely known general-purpose global channels on the server (both of which people try to actively advertise to new players so they can find out about events.) It is usually posted at least one day in advance, and 3 days in advance is quite common. Often, but not always, a post is made on the forums. All these things are given extra advance notice for villain raids, because the lower population means that less notice may cause insufficient attendance.
Absolutely no preparation or planning is required for the vast majority of attendees. Instructions about how the leaders are planning the tactics are given at the beginning of every raid. (Most of the leaders have macros for this and they are readily passed around.) The instructions are terribly simple if you just focus on the instructions for your team.
The zone size limit is and remains a problem. Sadly, I just don't see what can be done about it with respect to getting significantly more people involved in a given raid. -
only problem is that for MMs, you cant control the pets attack chain, so the time ends up varing, especially if they spend time running up to melee the pylon.

Quote:Raids are doing that atm, at least as far as i know, Virtue is doing evacless raid for most of our Blueside ones (redside still needs a bit of work without emps)I suppose that it would be possible, if you got the timing right, to get all the yellow mito aggro team back out into position to grab aggro back right after the pop and start the next cycle without going through the rest-and-rebuff process, but it would be a great deal trickier to pull off. If you could do it, it would make for an impressive raid time, though.

Quote:Virtue Redside Raids dont use MM streaming anymoreWere you doing Guardian's "okay, we had our raid and it went well, the rest of you peasants can have a raid without interference since we got what we wanted" private SG raids, or the more public raids that the SG allowed afterward if they didn't slip up and cause a yellow dawn or otherwise feel the regular players were out of line?
Regardless, when the new raids went live i was playing mostly on Virtue and found the raids there to be quite fast and fun. Most raids were completed in about 45 minutes. Since they were advertised in the forums, global channels and even through broadcast in several zones, and held at the same times and dates every week they were first come, first serve public events that hinged on everybody doing what they were good at and adapting based on which AT's/sets showed up.
Virtue raids are still going strong, but i haven't been to many Virtue raids since the first successful use of the no evac strategy. Which is sort of a shame, since getting that to work was an interesting change in tactics and i've missed the most recent innovation that combines elements of the no evac strategy sans the pets with regular tactics.
Oh, and redside raids are entertaining in that they remind more of the old Hamidon raid with the MM pet stream drawing aggro. And for Blueside, Evac-less is now pretty much the standard raid strategy unless we dont have enough attendance that raid. (typically the second raid)
