I run a KM/EA brute, and he does pretty well all and all. Yes, I have CJ and Maneuvers, old habits from my fire tank. He is solo-centric, or if in teams, he's not tanking. I use him as a surgical strike system, rush in, do damage, get out. Those "You have 5 minutes until the PPD arrive" missions are a snap.

Indeed, using the MF guide, my 'shade is a total blast to play. When I have that "I gotta blow junk up" feeling, out he comes.

Anybody and everybody in the mission you want! I've spent many missions TP'ing around a Sorceror or FF Generator I've confused. -
The Doctor also has taken on energy from the Mawdryn during their attempt to end their life. Who knows how that could have messed up his psysiology. In addition, it was an artificial limit imposed by the Time Lords, and numerous mechanisms to proceed past it were presented. It could be one of a number of systems, and I'd be curious to see it addressed.

How is the assumption incorrect? You have issues getting invitations for your Stalker on your server. A number of people on other servers have no problems in getting their Stalkers invited to teams, myself included. Simply raising my "Looking for team" flag on my Kin/Elec Stalker will get me an invitation to a tip team or similar in fairly short order on Justice.
Tanstaafl was not, as far as I can read his/her mind, claiming that there is no-one teaming on your server. The contention was that people refusing to team with Stalkers (or some other AT) is a problem that is likely only found on some servers. And ultimately, if you can't get invitations to a team and it's really bugging you, start one. Look through the LFT window and grab some people who are up for a mission or whatever. If no-one wants to join the Stalker-led ITF, start something else and make a few friends. Tip teams are quite popular at the moment, and could often carry at least one team member quite easily, so even if they're thinking "lolstalker", they'll still run the mission... and then be thoroughly impressed by how much damage you put out and the ways you can manipulate aggro, at which point they might think about running that ITF.
In conclusion, it seems likely that archetype discrimination is a problem found far more on some servers than others. And regardless of this, there are definitely things you can do about it. -
For those who think "This AT/Power/Build can't do it" I scoff. I began this game with an arrow/fire, Issue 6. I had teams kick me, because they saw only the powers and not the player. I've taken that toon to 50, and he is awesome. I find a build that people go "that's weak" and I go and build it. I've built the mind/psi dom, the ninja/TA mm, the SS/EA brute, the fire/fire tank, everytime someone tells me that "that is da gimpzors" I go out and make one!
And then I proceed to make my next 50.

I have run several DA, and the two best secondarys I've found for it so far are:
Mace - it's slower than others, but it does a great job of aggro control
Electric - it's end drain eliminates a lot of DA's end issues early on. -
We have two HP laptops, a Dell, an MSI Netbook, and two Toshiba. Your charge against HP is correct, for their Intel based solutions. The AMD HP we have is quiet, and does not have any heat issues over what any other laptop offers. I'd not recommend a Dell at this time, unless you have the moola for an Alienware or Precision.
I'd note, I'm finding the AMD based laptops (one of the HP, the MSI and both Toshibas) are outperforming the Intel for playing CoH. Even the little MSI Netbook, with it's single core AMD and Radeon 3200 graphics is playing with some Ultra Mode settings enabled (Shadows and Reflections). -
I just recently purchased a laptop, with ultra mode in mind.

I run a Dark/Mace, and whomever says it cannot tank anything I believe is very must mistaken. Even at the low levels, it was keeping pace with my other tankers, and even excelling in a few areas.

I am an Arrow/Fire Blaster. My Secondary was originally all but ignored, as I focused on my primary. I could not understand the point, as I'd thought my point was to attack from a distance.
Then one day, I partnered up with an NRG/NRG Blaster. I saw her charging in, and letting loose at point blank. The next day, I ran Tera Volta, and respec'd, focusing a balance between ranged and meele. It was night and day. When before I could get 1-2 off, and had to be careful of mob size, now I was able to snipe off the biggest guy in the mob, then PBAoE the rest! I became damage-central. Whatever I was thrown against, it did not matter, I would throw damage out at such a rate that little could stand in his way.
That is why I am a Blapper, because I am a Blaster. At range, or meele, you are mine to be damaged. -

If all you want are decent shields, you never had to play Tankers at all. Scrapper defences have always been decent. Tanker defences are simply superior.

When I play a Tanker, I want to play a brick, something you pound on and on and on until the bad guys fists are bloody. I like having some damage, sure, but shoot, I actually went from lvl8-20 with one tanker just running Mudpots and his lvl 1 attack, thats it. To me, a Tanker is there to be the one being hit, the shield for the team to hide behind. It is a thankless job at times, but it is one I relish when I play my tanks. -

This I do know somewhat. Arachnos was a large organization controlled by the Weaver. When Recluse took over, it split up into various groups (Arachnos headed by Recluse, Council by The Center, 5th Column by Requiem). -
Rooted + granite has saved my teams hide more than once, such as when dealing with a GM.
