This is a known bug. According to QA, it's related to having the shivan shard temp power (there might be other things that cause it, too, but this is what they've been able to reproduce).

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've had this happen to me long before I ever got the shard.

Please, if you disagree with someone - state your opinion and leave it at that. No need to bash people for their thoughts/ideas. Some people want X - others don't. Agree to disagree. Thanks.

Now, Isolator. I have made the suggestion a few times to somehow work another chance at Isolator into an event or something. As you have seen, it has not been a successful suggestion so far. It may never be.

As far as I know - the devs have no plans for including an alternate method to get isolator if you did not get it in outbreak.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Several of my heroes were made before Issue 2 came out, so they didn't even have the option to get Isolator. I think that's just tough. It's like whining about not getting the Halloween badges just because you weren't playing back then.

I have to agree with the Devs on this one.

As several have noted, I7 features content mostly for City of Villains (levels 41 to 50, in fact). This is exactly what we did for CoH. City of Heroes will receive a cool graphics upgrade, new base items (Empowerment stations!) and access to Recluses’ Victory. It’s true that CoV received more attention, but that’s mainly because we needed to fill out the levels. I had the option of releasing I7 or waiting until we could fill out the City of Heroes content. Obviously, I chose the former. New content should get out there when it’s ready. We'll be focusing equally as much as possible on each product moving into the future...

For those who have speculated that Newspaper missions are coming to City of Heroes, they aren’t…yet. That’s coming a little later in the year. I’d like to add something different to the CoH system…

    [/ QUOTE ]

bah, who cares about the heroes? They've had long enough attention. They have about 3 times as many zones as we do.

I have it on good authority that Jake is in fact... a 5th Column Mekman.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can't tell you how many 5th Column Mekman I've rescued from missions. Even our Oracle has the spirit of one that talks to us.
  5. I think Flight is fine. Most of my characters are flyers, and, even if my teammates can beat me to missions, I still think I'm far better over all in terms of hover blasting/buffing.

I'm still rather confused/upset at why Group Flight somehow missed the "Flight shall no longer have -Acc" memo. Did a Dev screw up here? GFly would actually be useful then. No, everytime I try and use it to get my pets up somewhere, all I get from my team is "Turn that damn Group Flight off! I can't hit anything!" Which really, griefing fellow teammates with it seems to be it's main function. I wish there was atleast some way that I could make it work on my pets only. Or, better yet, remove the -Acc like it should have been done a couple Issues ago.
  6. Very nice. The only obvious missing detail is how they scream like little girls when you ram your steel claws through their organs. Otherwise, it was a good read.

    Some more good news...

Ice Tankers and SR Scrappers have long lamented that Defense doesn't scale with level. Because mobs higher level than a player possess an inherent to hit bonus, Defense isn't as effective over levels as Resistance.

A while ago, peoople have requested something be done. Well, we've done a bunch of work and done this. Defense powers will now work equally well against critters, regardless of their rank or level. For instance, your defense powers will work equally well against a Boss or any critter up to 5 levels higher than you, as it does for an equal level minion. This change has no effect on a player who does not have any Defense.

This change is coming in I7

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wow, that's going to make Stalkers a whole lot more effective in PvE.
  8. Serial Killers

At first, the Serial Killers were a harmless group of college kids obsessed with high profile killers. Their fan club would change dramatically as the killers they worshiped would eventually become the leaders of their group. Their new super powered villain leaders would teach the former harmless college kids how to become cold blooded killers themselves.

The Paragon Times reported on the young group's exploits, turning them from common thugs to celebrities. The ranks of the Serial Killers swelled, causing a new, city wide threat. Finally the Serial Killers poised ready to conquer the Freedom Phalanx and take over Paragon and rule the city by their twisted whims...

    Digital Killers

An army of droids, they shared a collective databank in a heavily fortified bunker. The entire army could be ordered to follow any command at any time. That is, until their base was destroyed.

With it, the Digital Killers have lost their collective memory, programming, and objectives. They have no memory of who they are. Their only memory is they are charged with protecting the Earth. Their first decision is that heroes pose the biggest danger to Earth due to their failure to protect Paragon from alien invasions, earthquakes, meteors, radiation fallout, giant sink holes, industrial accidents, and monster infestations. Villains are also a threat, but their general success at protecting the Rogue Island from huge disasters has made them lesser targets.

The Digital Killers are currently looking for former members of their army that they have lost contact with. More information of them can be found at www.killersofvirtue.com
  9. Since my villain group Serial Killers is pretty much full with 75 fairly active people, I've started a couple overflow coalition groups. I'll mention one for now. It's just my Corruptor, Sabrina, so far. It's kind of a joke SG. Something for people to make an alt for, do some light RP and be silly. It's called....

    Catholic School Girl Killers

The basic requirements are: Must be a girl(your character, I mean). Must have a privte school like uniform. And must have a normal sounding girl's name. First and last name would work if the first name you'd want is taken. Names like, "Becca Smith, Jessica Jones, Tina Michaels," etc. Japanese names would work too, I suppose.

The eventual goal--to have an army of deadly Catholic School Girls.

If anyone's interested, send me a PM
  10. I guess it depends on what you're playing. I got to 40th with my stalker, solo'ing missions against Longbow in Warburg. I thought they were pretty damn easy even on the 4th diff setting. Longbow is easy because...

    - No caltrops
    - No debuffing powers
    - No pet summoning
    - No particular resistances to anything
    - No healing other than some bosses
    - No holds, imob, or sleep other than the rare stun or web gernade
    - No phase shifting or teleporting
    - No self rez'ing

Hmm, maybe I'm missing something, but I think they're the easiest fraction in the game at all levels. Arachnos are way more dangerous, especially the Crab Tankers that have Lethal Resistance. You can AS them with your claws, but that just seems to make them mad.
  11. I don't think Tower TP'ing is a "valid tactic." I think it's a cheap exploit and needs to be fixed.

But as a Stalker fan myself who's gotten Stormies as bounties, I have to admit, I can totally understand the Stalker's point of view at finding, perhaps, the only way a Stormie can be defeated.

Hurricane is *far* too effective against melee types. If I can't even get close enough to hit a Stormie with Brawl even if I try jumping on them with Brawl qued, then something's wrong. I wouldn't stoop to using an exploit myself, but I can totally see why Stalkers would hate you and want to make you pay.
  12. I've watched /Dev Blasters in Warburg, stand on a ledge and lay mines in one spot, then drop caltrops there, and use TP Foe to port an enemy right on it. I watched a Blaster instantly kill a Scrapper doing that.

For the record, just hitting AS alone can't one shot anyone. You need to use Build Up first, which your enemies can some time hear a Stalker do and run away from the sound before the Stalker can hit AS.

Also for the record, even though a Blaster can one shot a Stalker, a Stalker can't one shot a Blaster. Even in Warburg where the heroes had -15% Res and the Villains had +15% Damage(because of us villains having no one else our level to team with so we solo missions in Warburg for the extra xp), but even with all those bonuses, and my hitting a tiny red with three green damage SOs in AS, I still couldn't one shot a Blaster... though I left them with a sliver. If they hit respits before my next attack hit, then I'd have to run. But if they panicked and ran or stayed to fight thinking maybe Defiance would kick in, then I just needed one follow up attack to hit and they were gone.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
Why not have it that neither the npc nor the player can push the other?

    Players should have pushing priority...
If it's a server issue with numbers of npcs in one area you can easily have them fade out if the density goes to high?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or have the NPCs occassionally run for the doors and escape. In either case, NPCs should not be in the vaults period. I'd be pretty scared if somebody robbed a bank while I was there, but the vault is the last place I would run to. I'd probably just lay on the ground until the robbers left.
  14. Two issues with SR. As you get higher level and can fight mobs higher level than you, SR is far less effective than other defensive sets since the Conning rules will eliminate any protection you had.

And second, Stalkers have much lower health than Scrappers do. If a Stalker gets wounded enough to where the damage resistance kicks in, it's not going to save us like it might a Scrapper.
  15. I'm surprised so few people are talking about the Gladiators considering how fun they are. They definately need a lot of tweeking though. Three Arch Agony Mages are industructable unless you have two people attacking you with their armies at once.

I've never lost with 3 Agonies...always a stalemate. Everyone I've ever fought with 3 Agonies either stalemated with me or won.
  16. You know, about that page, it lists Stalkers as having Medium Health and Corruptors as having Low health. When actually, Stalkers are tied for the lowest health in the game and Corruptors have more than Stalkers do.

Well, it also says that Stalkers are the easiest to play, when they're definately the hardest to play well.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
We're asking for this same exact thing in CoH too Lokana. It's probably easier for them to make such content for Villains, but Heroes could also seriously use some AT-Centered missions.

Defenders, and MM's could assist a Garrison of entrenched Longbow/Arachnos soldiers in a "Keep atleast XX men alive for XX minutes" base-style Onslaught. Controllers and Dominators could assist some bounty hunters pursuing runners/fugitives. Blasters and Corruptors could lead an assault team against large amounts of destructables. Brutes and Scrappers ... Well they do fine with the current content. Tankers and Stalkers could lead missions against just bosses while being supported by a couple of summonable LT's for backup(They'd have 3 to choose from--Nem Sniper, Crey Medic, or a CairnStone, but could only summon and have 2 of them out simultaneously).

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I like it.
  18. I'm sure there will eventually be a "'Go to Mercy Island' or 'Go to <insert other island zone>'" option. So another zone with totally different starter missions. Mercy Island isn't much fun to hang out in. Aeon City really feels more like an Atlas Park. But you're not going to want to hang out there until you're about 10th or so.

I think it would also be nice if there were AT specific starter missions. Like, "A Stalker, eh? Go sneak past these enemies and steal the plans for the death ray." Or, "Greetings Brute, this guy owes me money. Go break his legs and pummel all his friends."

I know making content based on origins doesn't work since most people are Magic and Mutant. But ATs are somewhat evenly distributed--well other than Corruptors and Dominators are less common.
  19. I think two things need to happen for BB and SC. One, make the Arbiter Drones better. Heroes can gank you even while you're standing next to the black helicopter in SC and the Drones don't do anything(the heroes have learned where to stand to avoid getting hit by them or some just don't work at all). And two, remove the ability to hear enemies over Broadcast. It was fun at first, before the heroes knew we could hear what they were saying, but they eventually figured it out and enabled their "hear villain speech" option. And now Broadcast is often the "talk trash" channel(though it's also used as friendly chatting between enemies, but that can be accomplished with local).

This can be fun at times. There was this one Blaster bragging over Broadcast about how he and the 30 other heroes camping our base ganked the two villains hanging out by the Evil Scientist contact. He went on and on about how if we didn't like getting ganked, we had no business in a PvP zone. And he got wounded by a turret and backed up(away from his teammates) and I snuck up behind him and AS'ed him in one shot. Then, over his dead body, I typed in local, "Hi." After listening to him brag for an hour about how rad heroes were and how much the villains sucked. The second I took him out, he went to the hospital and left the zone.

As big a smile as that put on my face, I strongly recommend disabling hearing the enemy over Broadcast(for those that don't know, you can't hear them by default, but you can enable hearing foe speech by clicking an option). But, if you want to take the time to type to close by enemies in Local, more power to you.

After I5, some people were saying the same thing..."the game is a ghost town"...to which my reply was, "but we're gaining customers..." Naturally, my reply was dismissed.

And yet then good ole' SirBruce posted his MMP numbers - and City of Heroes was shown gaining subscribers. Odd, isn't it?

People are stupid. I honestly don't know how you can deal with rude, disrespectful, stupid people on the boards all day long and still give positive responses to everyone. I know you said recently you just think of them as costumers that care, but still.

I can't think of a reason why the devs would want to "avoid" having level 50's generate extra prestige. It sounds like a perfect reward for maxing out your character, to me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why would you want anything other than level 50's in your SG then?

All I can say is thanks to the Devs for thinking of this.

Other mobs can break my placate on another target. Or that a mob can attack while placate is animating, still be placated and I lose my chance for a crit.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Any more detail on this so I can get QA to try and replicate it for me? Are there certain critters that do this, or is it a general case? Do any special circumstances need to be met?

    [/ QUOTE ]

In beta, I played a regen(no +Def), and this happened to me a *lot* Now that I'm playing SR on Live, I'm usually not hit after I Placate, so my Placate is usually not wasted.

Though I notice something odd. Sometimes it will "knock" me out of Hide, so it seems. I'll appear visable. The "Hidden" is gone, and yet, sometimes I can still AS dispite for full damage normally.

While I'm here, I have a little Stalker wish list item. Is there anyway that AS can give Stalkers about 2 seconds worth of "aggro delay" so we can either hit Placate or just run.

The reason why I'm asking is because Stalkers feel pretty useless against big targets like Sea Witch. I was in a team with 5 other people, and she one shotted my like 3 times in a row. I couldn't run away fast enough. Same with Ghost of Scrapyard. If I'm gaurenteed to get Aggro after an AS and I'll get one shotted almost everytime...it makes me feel like I need to just sit by the sidelines not helping or rack up debt without much chance of avoiding it.

If we could get a 2 second "aggro vacation" to run, that would be great. It should only be if we hit though. If we miss, we deserve to be toast.
