  1. Would it really be game breaking to allow long time players to have capes at level 1? I have been playing this game since June 2004. Why is it that after six years my heroes still cannot start out with a cape at level one? I understand why it was in the beginning however that was 6 years ago. Please add capes at level one as a vet reward so any new heroes or villains I create can start with a cape of choice instead of the valkyrie or magic cape. Thanks,

  3. I know this sounds kind of like Ninja Run however there are a few differences.

    1. you would not have to purchase the booster pack to get it.

    2. It is able to take Enhancements

    3. It is a powerset made up of 4 powers not just a single power

    4. it would be faster than Ninja Run and allow you to jump a bit farther.

    I have used the Ninja Run power however my two biggest problems with Ninja run is that it is not enhanceable and that you do not have the option to be in the ninja run stance or not while it is activated. Also I think the other powers in this set would be a benefit as well especially to scrappers, stalkers and brutes.
  4. For six years we have had the same four travel powers. Superspeed, Superjump, Fly, and Teleport. I think it is time we get a new travel power set. I would like to suggest Parkour as the next travel power. What makes this travel power different from the others is that you will have vertical movement which you do not get in Superspeed and you will get horizontal movement speed which you do not really get in superjump. Plus what would really be cool is a stance option to be on all fours when travelling with this power. Have cat like movement. Plus Superspeed is about running real fast around obstacles. Superjump is about bounding over them. This powerset is about moving real fast amongst the obstacles not around them or way over them. Moving with fluid movement to overcome obstacles.
    Yes... I know if you purchase the Martial Arts Super Booster pack you get Ninja Run however it is only one power and it is not enhanceable. I suggest the following powers for the Parkour Travel Power.

    Backflip - You have trained yourself to move in a fluid manner. You are able from a stand still position to backflip and kick your enemy click melee attack smashing/lethal secondary is knockback

    Displacement - The art of Parkour is the art of displacement. You are skilled at evading attacks by not being where they occur. Toggle +run +jump +Defense +stealth *this is the equivalent of combat jumping as far as defense bonus it would give a minor boost to run and jump and would give a similar stealth bonus as superspeed.

    Free Running - You are an expert at moving quickly in unconventional ways around obstacles. Toggle +runspeed +Jump the animation for this would be like prince of persia or assassin's creed movement among rooftops.

    Tumble - Tumble is a distance attack in which you can launch yourself at an enemy curling into a ball and tumble at them with great force. Similar to Shield Charge or Lightening Rod attacks.
  5. Ok Forbin_Project. Let me tell you that I have been playing City since June of 2004 so I know how the enhancements work. What I am suggesting is that as you run around doing missions and you level up at your milestone levels 12,17,22,27,32,37,42, and 47 you can purchase the next level of enhancements all at once so if you hit level 12 for example and you are already decked out with all training enhancements with a single click you can upgrade all enhancements to Dual Origin for the price it would cost you to purchase all of them without having to sit there at the store for several minutes purchasing them and placing them. I personally would not need to do this because I generally do not mess with enhancements until at least level 12 anyway however it is just an example. The next example is that you hit level 27 when you can start using level 30 enhancements. You run to a store or the Wentworths and with a click you can either purchase an replace all enhancements with level 30 Single Origin for the price it would cost to purchase them or you could replace them all with level 30 Invention Origin enhancements for the price it would cost you to purchase the recipes at the university + the cost of all needed salvage+ the crafting cost without having to run around spending several hours/days trying to do it manually. Some people do not care about getting the "best price" and since the amount of subscribed players that are actually playing is down right now it is sometimes hard to find enhancements so this would be a way to do it in a fast and easy matter if you did not want to deal with the hassle of haggling and crafting and influence/infamy was no object to you. And I am sure that the system I am proposing would show you the price to upgrade before charging you so you could see if it was an amount you are willing to pay. If you want to sit at the Wentworths for a week waiting to see if you can get that one level 35 standard invention origin recipe for fly speed for only 10000 then go right ahead however some of us like to just upgrade and then return to doing missions, task forces, etc. and we gain enough influence that it is no big deal to drop a few million to upgrade to all level 35 or level 40 standard IOs. I do not know why there are so many people on the boards that decide to just /unsign everything they see without considering an alternative to the way things are. I have been subscribed to this game since June of 2004 and never had a lapse in my account. I have seen every single issue be announced and unvieled. This game has improved greatly since then through suggestions just like this one. I for one do not enjoy the crafting part of the game. It is boring and frustrating and I know I am not the only person that feels that way. It would be nice to be able to upgrade your entire loadout of enhancements in a more quick and easy fashion than we have today. Most other MMOs you may upgrade by getting a new shield or weapon and then you are on your way but you do not have to spend hours purchasing if you can find them upgrades for accuracy/damage/range/endurance Reducers/etc. It is great that we have such a grandular system however it is also very time consuming to upgrade. I am just throwing out a suggestion to make that process more streamlined for those of us who dislike crafting so much.
  6. Some of us are not as much into the market as others. With this being said it would be real nice if you got notified when your enhancements turn red as the first part of this feature and the other part would be the ability to at any enhancement store or the Wentworths/Black Market have the ability to with a single click upgrade all your enhancements to the next milestone of either training, DO, SO, or IO. So for example you hit level 27 and your level 25 DOs turn red. Goto any store click on either TO, DO, SO, or IO and all your enhancements are upgraded to level 30 of the type you chose for the amount of Influence/Infamy it would cost to purchase that all of that type. That way if you are with a team and hit a milestone it takes a few minutes to upgrade instead of an hour or two of running between the WW and the University. If you want to work with your enhancements individually the option is still there but if you want to upgrade them quick and dirty you have that option now too. That is my suggestion.

  8. Perhaps combine the self destruct with the self rez so the self rez would make you explode and then rez you. Also this would be a good set for Brutes. The only thing is that you would have to change the way Fury works so it stays after death. imagine how powerful you would be after exploding and rezzing. That would be cool.
  9. I have a small issue with the current melee choices.

    Super Strength - accept for foot stomp all punching
    Energy Melee - all punching
    Marital Arts - all kicking
    Dark Melee - all punching

    I would love it if the DEVS would take some powers from super strength, dark melee, energy melee, and martial arts and then remove the FX and come up with a melee attack set that was half punching and half kicking with minimal visual glowie effects kinda like what they did with will power and put it out in time for I16. If they are using existing powers and animations all they need to change is special effects which from the screen shots that Posi showed it appears they are working on that for I16 anyways.

    Also Cowdragon, most people HATE dominator's snipe powers. It doesn't pack nearly as much punch as your wife's corruptor's does. Just be forewarned!

    Hello all,

    I have a lvl 50 Fire/Fire dom named Warden of Hades. I have a suggestion for the slotting of blaze. 1 acc, 1 range, 3 damage and if you feel you need it 1 endredux. Also early on if you take Char and Fire Cages if you can pull around a corner then once the first guy comes around the corner hit him with fire cages and then char and then rinse and repeat and you will cook the whole group! Just make sure you hit or your aggro generator (fire cages) will cook you instead. My dom was a member of a perma team so I am now looking through the boards to see how I want to respec him for solo play. Perhaps once I re-build him I will write up a guide of my own. Anyone for Mobique? Trust me it is cooked through and through.

  14. This is so freaking awesome. Thank You Devs. Now if you can just work in power customization for I14 to compete with that other Super Hero game created by Jack Emmett it will all work out. Most of my characters end up logging out at either Wentworths or the Black Market after I sell my wares. So am I an Auctioneer? Also, a Global Vault System would be nice too like Guild Wars has. Overall I13 is I feel the best issue since I12 and the VEATS. You guys always seem to amaze with things like this. Thanks and now it is understandable why this issue will take so long to come to live servers. Feel free to take your time and get it just right. I will wait patiently as i anticipate what characters I must delete to support my alt-itis. And please send us more information on the booster packs I am really interested in those and will willingly give you my money. Congratulations on another homerun issue you definately knocked this one out of the park!
  15. I have a lvl 42 Rad/Sonic and am in a perma team. I have tried Dreadful Wail and let me tell you it is not worth taking IMHO (I took Superspeed instead). Yes it does do mega damage to all those nearby however it also drains a lot of END and prevents you from gaining END back through natural means for about 60 seconds. That means the only way to get END back is to eat blues. So if you don't kill everyone with it you are in BIG trouble. Also you will want to look into slotting RI, CC and LR with PROCs to get the most out of them. Below is my build and is how I have it up to lvl 42 the rest is just planned at this point.

  16. I miss the Con. I used to go every year when I lived in San Diego back in the mid to late eightes and early ninties. Now I live in Indiana so I am too far away to attend. I will be there in spirit though. Can't wait for the Gen-Con Indy our own little slice of live NCSoft heaven.

    [/ QUOTE ] Because that would make them less "Veteran" if you could just buy them. They are a Reward for Veteran's of the game those of us who have stuck around for a long time. I am kind of proud of the fact I have been here long enough to get some of the higher rewards. I started playing this game in June of 2004 and have played ever since without any gaps. I think of the Veteran Rewards as tokens of appreciation from the Dev Team for those that have not moved on to other MMOs and I like them the way they are. If a person could just buy them then that would cheapen their meaning for a lot of us I think. Just be patient and wait your turn and before long you will have what you have earned.

    I thank you and my alts thank you. Now my alts may actually have a chance to survive. In the past I would think of a great idea and create the character and then after a few weeks of playing them up to around 15 - 20 I would get another really great idea and have to delete them to create the new idea. Now my alt survival rate chances have just doubled at least! Thanks again. Dev Team FTW!!!
  20. I have to say that Issue 9 for me is one of the worst Issues to come out ever. I do not care for the invention system and I always thought that not having a crafting/market system was one of the things I like most about City of * . I now fear that all new in-game items will be added to the game through this hellish system and that the recipes will be so expensive that only the uber rich supergroups will be able to afford them. For example the bug wings. I have been keeping tabs on them as I have a bug character "The Blazing Flea" and thought having one costume with the wings would be kind of cool. Well at Wentworths the recipe is going for I think right now 10 million infulence? Who has that kind of money to spend on a recipe for a costume piece? For 10 million I better get the actual costume piece on all characters I create from now until infinity. This has to be the worst system ever. There is nothing in the system to prevent dubious people from hording items and driving up the price. There is NOTHING in I9 that I like. I HATE the crafting oh sorry Invention System, I never like the Hami raids, and Task/Strike forces are not all that appealing for me. There weren't even any new costume pieces that I could get without going through the stupid invention system. This issue blows. I think they need to equal out the issues more to maybe add a powerset or a new AT or a new zone with each issue along with the mainstream stuff like the invention system so that everyone has something they like about it. Yeah there are some cool new costume pieces that came with I9 but there is no way to get them because the prices have been driven up to astronomical limits. So I will just play the game as I always have and try to ignore the invention system as much as possible. I have absolutely no plans to use it except to unload trays when they get full of stuff. So I will sell salvage and things I come across but I do not plan on crafting anything. Single Origin Enhancements do me just fine. And I guess no more new free costume pieces in the game either so I guess I will just use what is currently available. DOOOOOOOM!!!!
  21. I use both characters and toons to refer to my heroes and villains. I think the term toons comes from the fact that most superheroes are cartoon/comic book characters so it is easy to say toon in that instance. I do not think it is all that big of a deal.

    We the community owe you a debt of gratitude for all of the support you have given us over the past 2 years. My work is also customer service/tech support related so I know that the position you and Cricket are in is not an easy one. You have put up with all of our frustration over the past two years and have tried over and over again to bring us resolutions to our concerns as quickly as possible. I am saddened by the news that you are leaving; however I know that the community over at Tabula Rasa is going to be in good hands. We still have Cricket and will be in good hands as well; however the zones within Paragon will lose some of their luster once you are gone.   23. So I tried the Mayhem Mission with my lvl 22 Bots/FF MM and one thing I noticed is that it seems a bit difficult to be solo-able being timed and all. I failed the mission because first the swat team hit me and my bots with glue and then eventually killed me and then I ended up in the police station where they did the same thing. Also wanted to comment that the wording may need to be changed because when you destroy a car or a bus stop it says "You defeated a car." or "You defeated a Bus Stop." I think it would be better if it were something like "You destroyed a car." It is a pretty sad state of affairs if your villain has to sink so low to actually "fight" and "defeat" a bus stop. Come on now a Bus Stop is a pole with a sign I do not thing it is going to fight back. Please consider changing the wording for these types of items. I do like that you can "defeat" civillians though. Really Cool. Keep up the good work!

    Origins

    My main character Justice Bruiser is of the Science origin because he was at a lab trying to perfect a formula that would enable humans to utilize the power of the netherworld and there was an accident and now he is a Dark Melee/Regen scrapper with the power to wrap his hands in energy from the netherworld and he also has the ability to regenerate by consuming souls from the netherworld.

    Blazing Flea is a mutant who was an ordinary flea who was caught in the fallout of a power plant explosion that mutated him. Through his mutation he was enlarged to the size of a small man 4" tall and has the ability to create and control fire. He is a Fire/Fire Tanker.

    Kinetic Shock is a science origin because he is the son of the super hero known as Static Shock however since Static was granted his powers by "bang baby juice" those powers and science origin were passed on to Kinetic Shock the Kinetic/Electric Defender.

    I am also going to be creating an illusion/Empathy Controller when Issue 4 comes out that will be of magic origin and they will be a State Alchemist like on the anime series Full Metal Alchemist. My character will have a backstory but I have not completed it yet.
