My first character was Ironblade, a broadsword/regen scrapper. Broadsword seemed very straightforward and I figured regen would keep me alive while I was learning the game. I was not disappointed. Ironblade was my first 50 and remains my most-played character.

Quote:I've seen a stone tank with Granite active jump and fly.I only wish that you could jump while in granite
I don't mind not being able to jump with Rooted on,
I don't recall how many Inertial Reductions it took to get him to jump, but it takes 10 Group Fly to get him airborne. -
Quote:.....had to log in to check. Only 24 mph. I don't have Swift fully slotted and only have 65% from set bonuses. So what is your run speed at currently? I was thinking of adding maneuvers, but I have not had the time.
I wasn't going mainly for runspeed. I have 38% recovery, 140% regen and 73% recharge. It's enough runspeed to surprise most stone tanks when they see it, and to make running around with Rooted tolerable. -
Yes, but my big selling point was "cheap". My 300% regen build cost me 24 million influence and patience at the consignment house.

I remember the good old days, when I got a VG on Infinity with over 3 million prestige for just 80 million inf. Obviously, I had to trek uphill in the snow to deliver the funds....

Quote:Specifically, the post here says:I recall reading a redname post on the Test forum saying that the new Launcher had faster connections.
"For example, the NCsoft Launcher will allow you to download patches faster by using a content distribution network." -
Well, more is better. You can get quite a lot if you're not trying for any other set bonuses. My invuln tank is IO'ed only for regen and has over 300%. Of course, he has a lot of places to slot Numina's Convalescence for 12% (Health, Dull Pain, Aid Other, Aid Self, Resuscitate).

If I understand this part, you're asking how you know when it's recharged. It doesn't have to recharge. If you put it in a heal power that you trigger every 30 seconds, it will fire every time. The effect does not stack with itself but each activation will re-start the 120 second duration.

Quote:The bombs aren't a DOT effect. They're just a single explosion. I'll warn you though, if the fight lasts more than a minute or two, you'll be able to walk around the warehouse without touching the floor. That place will eventually be CARPETED with bombs. You mean the impossible to overcome 5% chance to hit? I don't think it would matter that much if it was one huge attack, but if it was an attack like Rain of Fire, then it could be a problem.
BTW, if it's not a Master attempt, it's pretty entertaining to run down an aisle past 20-30 bombs and watch them all going off behind you.

Quote:I know! I love that. A friend of mine was on a stone tank and I was on mine. I asked her to turn on Rooted and Granite and race me. I literally ran circles around her. After the 2nd circle, she stopped moving and just sat there. You just know she was trying to figure it out, maybe looking again to be sure I really had both powers turned on. Then she asked, "How are you doing that?"I have my granite at 30 mph and he flys! Funny when people start asking me how I got so fast.
Yep. In fact, my stone tank has Maneuvers to carry an extra Gift of the Ancients +runspeed and Luck of the Gambler +recharge.Quote:One trick is to select some of the armours that allow Ancients 7.5% in them. -
The people expressing certainty without personally checking are the clueless ones. Not saying you fall in this category, but plenty of people are just jumping on the bandwagon (on both sides) and expressing thoroughly uninformed opinions.

Quote:You may be correct. All that said, there is a point in mission after the sewers that a red mission arrow appears...up the stairs.
To get the mission to progress someone has to go up there....at least that is my experience, having lead and gotten the MO badge on several characters.
Tonight I was accused of failing the MO portion because I ran up there to trip the mission advance. I ran immediately down the stairs. Didn't fight up there. Though at least one war walker was fought up there later (after I was blamed).
So is the person correct...just running up the steps and not using the little concrete arc in the middle the reason?
Or am I correct in saying that fighting up there got a drone destroyed?
The other person was definitely wrong (and apparently a muttonhead). Just as you suggest, someone MUST go up to Blue Steel's dais to advance the mission. It doesn't matter if you use the stairs, the ramp, fly or teleport.
I say you MAY be correct since we didn't see what everyone else was doing at all times. Fighting one of the walkers up on the platform MAY have gotten a drone destroyed. If it happened to get caught in an Orbital Lance radius, that would have done it. -
Quote:Good to hear. Oh, by the way, what is your legal expertise that makes your opinion on a legal matter worth even the time of day? It's too bad the legacy of the lawsuit is self-appointed trademark police "keeping the game safe from another lawsuit" when in fact there is zero possibility of any more lawsuits and the settlement of the previous one requires no action on the part of the players at all.

Quote:+regen. So I'm wondering, are there other general flavors of IO-buffed Tanker builds that I haven't mentioned? If you've got some feedback, I'd love to hear it.
My invuln has over 300% regen. That's approaching a regen scrappers 'always on' level of regen. Put that on a tanks hit points and it does a lot for survivability. The big selling point on this is that it's CHEAP. Regen is the first set bonus in the sets that have it. Also, since you're slotting IO's in pairs, you can semi-frankenslot and have reallly good performance on the powers. -

You can't EARN a respec until level 24. You can't get to level 24 in Praetoria. Therefore, there is no need to have a respec contact. Freespecs are used by typing /respec and don't need a contact. I would imagine freespecs work in Praetoria, but have never actually done it.

Quote:Yeah... I'm throwing my hands up, too - regarding your post. I read the agreement too, YEARS AGO, and all the stuff that seems to aggrieve you the most was in there back then.I love this game, but at some point I just have to throw up my hands.
A lot of it probably is unenforceable, but interpretation of the law varies from state to state, court to court and even month to month. Anyway, I think you're dramatically overreacting. But if the agreement is truly onerous to you, then don't agree to it and don't play. That's always an option. -
Quote:Is this the lead-in for an elaborate April Fools joke?Since members of this exclusive Saturday Afternoon Taskforce Club have expressed interest in low-level taskforces to level new toons, I am considering starting the progression in April.

Anyway, whatever, you can run the signature TF's, you can run Ouro arcs, you can run the Statesman TF four weeks in a row. I'll be there. -
Quote:Correct in every detail. You're good to go. The difference between 50 and 'sort of 51' isn't huge. The difference between 50 and 'sort of 46' is horrible.OK, just to be double triple sure about this - something in the slot prevents the level shift down, correct? I just scraped together stuff to place a common in Brighid's Alpha slot, and I already had a common in Maurya's Alpha slot.
But that doesn't make me 50(+1), because that takes a Rare or Very Rare, correct?
Sufficient for participating, or should I just drop out? I don't want to drag the team down. -
Sam has just a two-year headstart on you, but 29,000 more posts. Get to posting!

Many people, including myself, have posted about this over the past years. No progress yet.

Quote:1) Have a browser open with the mission listing (from Red Tomax or ParagonWiki).can anybody link me to, or advise on the most efficient way to deal with the 16 (?) Kill x number of Y Foes in z Zone as a team leader.
2) Ask for volunteers. Plenty of people have favorite hunts or know which their characters are suited to and this keeps them happy.
3) Have your team buffs displayed. When someone is in another zone, it tells you what zone they're in. This lets you see that every zone is covered.
4) If any zone is NOT covered, ask or suggest someone to take care of it. If it's just one that was skipped, do it yourself.
5) Everyone gathers for the hunts in Founders Falls and Eden. -
Quote:In the initial weeks, I saw people running them all the time. Whenever I wanted to do one, there was already someone waiting to form a team.I've never seen anyone doing these event. Ever. This probably explains why.
Good job on creating content no-one bothers with Devs.
My brother was curious about one of the events a couple weeks ago and, when we got to it, there was another person present for it.
Someone on my global asked me just 2 nights ago for some details on the Syndicate event.
How often do you see anyone paying any attention to the Rikti mothership - unless you happen to be there for the 3 hours of the week that it's getting raided? -
Quote:<ahem>Can someone clarify just how "alpha" you need to be for this TF? I thought the slot just had to be opened (and if you have it filled, that's great, even if only with a common).
If you don't have anything in your alpha slot, you're the level 3 toon at the Rikti mothership raid SK'ed up to 49. Yeah, it's possible for you to join and you're contributing SOMETHING, but you're pretty close to useless. Harsh, but I didn't design the system.Quote:For anyone who doesn't know, if you do the Apex or Tin Mage TF without having your Alpha SLOTTED (not enough to just have the Alpha Slot), you will be fighting at -4. Therefore, you will be fighting as if level 46 against level 54 enemies. Basically, you can't do the TF if you don't have an Alpha boost. Technically you can, but you'll be dead weight.
As for the +1 level shift, that would be nice, but it's not essential. I got the Master badges for both of these TF's before the level shift existed. -
Quote:You make it sound like you don't believe it.Some people are swearing that they are receiving multiple shards from the same defeated mob.
1) A lot of people have gotten multiple drops off a single defeated enemy.
2) Some of them have posted screenshots of the rewards text.
3) I've had it happen to me.
