Strategy for Numina's WST
Go villain side
Or, constructively, tell your server to NOT run LGTFs.
I'm personally going to be running as many LGTFs as I can on Virtue to screw with the wimpy Heroes trying to do Numina :3.
I generally say "go where you want, first person to call it gets it." I have had a TL divide the zones into all get PP, then member 1 gets AP, 2 gets Galaxy, so on. Repeat as needed. Then everybody hits FF to go to Eden.

Everytime I've run Numina, we split the team of 8 into 4 pairs. Each pair will go into different zones for the defeats. Usually, zone 1 is team 1, zone 2 for team 2, etc. When you get to 5, it's team 1 again.
For the pairings, just make sure to pair the squishest with either a tank/brute or a controller/dominator, who usually can contain/aggro any ambushes that may occur.
I find your lack of signature disturbing.

For the OP, IME, what said about splitting up and calling zones is most efficient way to get through those hunt missions. Some of the guides probably have order of zones that you can call out early and get people moving to them sooner.
What I've always done is kept paragonwiki.com up with the order of zones for the tf. When the time comes, I tell one person to go to each zone, and as each task gets completed, instruct whoever is just finished to go to the next zone that doesn't have anyone yet. Also send more than one person to any zone that may be higher level and therefore might pose difficulty to anyone. It's always run quite smoothly for me that way.

Only the last few zones, like Rikti in FF may actually need folks who can survive a fight, since you aren't going after greys there.
And don't feel you as team leader personally have to run around and help, managing 7 people across zones and reassigning them as things go is plenty of contribution.
I'll echo what others have said earlier. Keep open ParagonWiki for the zone order and have the team split up into pairs or even just solo in each zone depending on the team size and makeup. Generally we just call where we want to go and handle it first come first served when splitting. I've never been on a team for it that took it so far that the leader needed to assign zones and such. I usually call my zones based on what enemy group I would be most effective against on the character I'm playing once the enemies we need to fight are actually close to our level again.
During the Perez mission right before the zone hunts, I tell the team:
I'll take Clockwork in Atlas. Stay in Perez to defeat the CoT ambush.
Circle of Thorn in Perez is the first hunt, so that's done.
I'll Oportal out of the mission to go to Atlas. The Clockwork are on the building roofs near the Perez gate. That's the second hunt.
Then I have this bind:
/bind <key> Outcast in STEEL / Hellion GALAXY / Skull KR / Troll SKY / Vahz FAULT / Crey BRICK / Freak CREY.F / Raider TV / Fam & Tsoo IP / Council BOOM / Warrior TALOS / BP DA / Rikti FF / DE & Nem EDEN
It helps focus the team on the tasks.
Then it's just coordination of the team as those who finish a zone leapfrog to the next. Remind them to shout out for help if they can't find their targets.
You have to watch for players who want to do their pet targets at the expense of efficiency, e.g., someone who parks themselves in Dark Astoria to get Banished Pantheon even though that's still a long ways off. If I'm the leader and I ask nicely for them to got to Bricks instead to get Crey and if they don't move... I'm not above kicking them from the team. Maybe they'll learn to be a team player someday.
I had a Tanker once who wasn't participating in the hunts because he said, "I don't have AoE attacks." What an idiot. Like one-punching 10 grey foes takes too long. <rolls eyes>
Since I'm done with my Assist badge for the WST, I don't intend to run a lot of Numinas, like I did with the other TFs. But if I was going to, I'd tell the team before we start,
"When we get to the zone hunts, call out a zone you're taking and go there to find the faction. I'll post the list when the time comes."
"Don't leave any gaps in covering the zones, and if I ask to to switch to a different zone that needs coverage, please do so."
"I expect everyone to run around and participate in the zone hunts, regardless of AT or powers."
"Does anyone have a problem with that?"

2) Ask for volunteers. Plenty of people have favorite hunts or know which their characters are suited to and this keeps them happy.
3) Have your team buffs displayed. When someone is in another zone, it tells you what zone they're in. This lets you see that every zone is covered.
4) If any zone is NOT covered, ask or suggest someone to take care of it. If it's just one that was skipped, do it yourself.
5) Everyone gathers for the hunts in Founders Falls and Eden.
Paragon City Search And Rescue
The Mentor Project
MG on Virtue, who I TF with regularly, has keybinds for the hunts and sends a tell to each person on the team at the very beginning of the Task Force. This makes it easy for you to scroll back and find the yellow text direct tell informing you what you're to do.
We ran Numina last night, and I was told: "You will hunt 20 (whatever the number is) Hellions in Galaxy City, then 20 Skyraiders in Terra Volta, then 30 Rikti in Founder's Falls." Everyone on the team got a similar message with directions. I know at least two people were sent to Independence Port, and several people are sent to Founder's, and of course everyone then heads to Eden for the final hunt and missions.
This is the extreme version of how to do this efficiently, of course. Not every leader is going to go to the trouble of setting up regular keybinds to use every time they run a given task force. But I do know that telling people what they're to do right at the beginning like this works remarkably well, always assuming someone doesn't drop before you get to that point. ^_^

Here's a rough guide I made a long time ago. I adjust based on team size and player ability. (Player ability meaning I'll give the higher level hunts to the toons with more damage and/or are easier to solo.) I give everybody their destinations right from the start, so they can go right from one hunt to the next. We all meet in FF to take out the Rikti and move to Eden for the final hunts as a team.
Using a Team of 8 as an example:
Player1 (me) giving instructions then head to Brickstown (Crey), then to IP (Tsoo), then FF/Eden
Player2 Perez (CoT), then TV (Sy Raiders), then help in DA (BP), then FF/Eden
Player3 Atlas Park (Clockwork), then Crey's Folley (Freakshow), then FF/Eden
Player4 Steel (Outcasts), then Boomtown (Council), then FF/Eden
Player5 Galaxy (Hellion), then IP (Family), then FF/Eden
Player6 Kings Row (Skulls), then Talos (Warriors), then FF/Eden
Player7 Skyway (Trolls), then DA (BP), then FF/Eden
Player8 Faultline (Vahzilok), then Talos (Warriors), then FF/Eden
It seems to work fairly well so far.
Here's the same list in the order they occur in the TF:
Perez (CoT): Player2
Atlas Park (Clockwork): Player3
Steel (Outcasts): Player4
Galaxy (Hellion): Player5
Kings Row (Skulls): Player6
Skyway (Trolls): Player7
Faultline (Vahzilok): Player8
Brickstown (Crey): Player1
Crey's Folley (Freakshow): Player3
TV (Sky Raiders): Player2
IP (Family/Tsoo): Player5 & Player1
Boomtown (Council): Player4
Talos (Warriors): Player6 & Player8
DA (BP): Player7 & Player2
FF (Rikti): Everybody
Eden (DE/Nemesis): Everybody

I think the thing that might make this TF suck next week is when a half dozen groups are all doing the hunts at the same time and "stealing" spawns that other people are already camping on. lol
Hello everybody,
many thanks for all the help. Muchly appreciated
I have now printed out the listings (because I do a lot of play on a laptop and need all the screen I can get!) and annotated it with the tips you have provided.
Feel confident that cometh the hour I will be forming WST's with no angst.
Cheers

When I run it...
I tend to take the kill mission in Perez while I have everyone else running off to the zones I told them to way before the hunt missions begin.
Like during the first or second mission, I'll tell people "You go to this zone, you go to this zone, you go to this zone" then when they complete it, I'm at the zone I need to go to, and when they complete their zone, I tell them the next zone to go to.
Sometimes I'll switch it up, depending on who on the list is going where. Like a hard hitter to Crey's Folly to tackle the close in level Freakshow.
BrandX Future Staff Fighter

The BrandX Collection
I have a text file I copy/paste from.
I divide the team into pairs based on the order shown on the team window. Player 1 with player 2, player 3 with player 4, etc. If there's an odd number, the "toughest" goes solo.
When the team finishes the Envoy mission in Perez, I start copy/pasting team assignments with zones and mobs. The direction is to kill CoT as you move to your zone.
I try to keep the directions as simple and easy to understand as possible. No offense but some of you people have the attention span of a mayfly. Once a team begins their hunt in a zone, that's when I give directions on their next zone. Good lord it's inevitable if I say "Team 1 go to KR, Boom and FF" that I'll hear "where do I go after KR". So I give one assignment at a time.
I think it was mentioned above, but one tip is to assign IP to the TV team. Once you go through the gate back into IP, there's tons of Tsoo and Family just to your left and on to the bridge.
Global = Hedgefund (or some derivation thereof)
Here's some different advice:
Skyraiders in Terra Volta: There are flyers all over, of course, but they take time to track down and kill. But there are always two groups near the entrance on the ground that usually add up to the number needed for the hunt. If you enter Terra Volta, jump down to the street, and go right, at the point just before the road dips down on a steep incline, there will be a group of sky raiders on your right on the side of that building, and another group on your left behind that building.
Tsoo in Independence Port: you usually find them more on the Western side of the zone, not so much around the tram. I like to run out to the bridge in the center where you can find groups of Tsoo and Family together sometimes.
Vahz in Faultline: they aren't easy to find, but do a sweep of the underground car park (to the right of the entrance from Skyway). You can usually find several small groups there.
Council in Boomtown: God help you. It's usually a good idea to have more than one person do this one. If you're lucky you'll spawn an ambush. I usually head Northwest to look for them.
Warriors in Talos: Southern edge of the main island below the cliffs, lots of them there.
Rikti in Founders: Probably most people know they're down by the docks near the mutant store girl, Southwest.
Eden: You see lots of DE when you zone in. For Nemesis, just head right from the entrance.

For Council in Boomtown, it is best to send someone with some sort of ranged TAOE. This could be a Blaster or Controller with their AOE immob. The object is zip in, shoot it off and move on to another group. Use some other AOE if you have it for that next group. As long as you've got some damage in, you can let the 5th Column goons finish the job for you. Don't stop moving. Your mere presence can trigger the conflict of several adjacent spawn groups.
A good spot for Council is west of the gate. Once you enter Boomtown, hang a left and go 2 blocks, then stop to wait for your turn. The groups of Council and 5th are 1 block away (ie about 1 block in from the small west wall). If you get too close, they'll start fighting.
Similarly, for Freaks in Crey's Folly, I usually hang a left after entering CF and head to the far wall where the sandy piles are. This would be the SE corner on the map. There are several groups of minion + lieutenant Freaks fighting Creys. Sometimes you'll get lucky and they will be large groups.
For Warriors in Talos, there are good numbers of them between the Train station and the Tech store. They also hang out between the Train station and the TO store. You can't really miss them and they're in larger groups than those along the coast line during certain times of day. Evenings?
For Rikti, I was once on a team where a Tank herded up a nice group (with a non-damage taunt aura) while he waited. He cleared half the quota before I could zone in.
Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

my lil RWZ Challenge vid
Best way to do it is post half the zones and let them pick where to go. Then post the second half and repeat.
This lets people who know where to look (or even where the zone is) go there fast and complete it.
Also don't forget you can click on the arrow nest to the team window and see who's in what zone. This way if you see a zone coming up thats not covered then you can just ask who's got that zone or who wants to go there.
