You read a EULA, Canine? I'm sorry, but there are laws against that sort of unnatural behavior!

The Praetors are our job. States is just mopping up some stray mobs.

Hey, BigBoss, look at it this way. If the possibility of failing a TF was zero, why bother doing it? It's all about over coming challenge. Especially a challenge which might exceed your abilities. A failure now and then just makes clear it's worth the effort
  9. Thanks VK! I'm intreged by this comment about the Prae War Witch:

Protean: "Nope. Blood. She is hardcore. Also very angry at Cole."
  10. Unless the music is happening in a place in game where music is supposed to be, Pocket D for example, I don't like music in my games. It breaks my immersion. Ambient sounds, the sounds of the powers of some blaster fighting in the distance...now those are sounds that immerse me in this game.

And on that note: Dear Devs, please allow an option where I can turn on the music in Pocket D, Studio 55, and boomboxes but still have the zone music off. Please, please!

Well that would allow a bunch of new emotes. But honestly, I'd rather have the devs working on new content.
  12. Empathy/Radiation Defender. I can't remember her name. I made a power choice mistake around level 20 and with no option to respec in those days I ended up deleting her.

I suggest getting Super Speed on your squishies and slot a Running +Stealth IO. You can then move around quickly and practically invisibly.

Your reward on a BAF has nothing to do with beating on the AV's. I have several characters who focus on the Warworks spawns (the Adds) exclusively who have gotten Very Rare salvage.

I recall a Dilbert cartoon from the 1990's where he wrote a computer program to come up with the worlds best pickup line, and it came up with this:

"Hi, my name is Mel Gibson, did you see a dingo dog run by with my shirt?"

  16. Perhaps if the minimum players for Incarate trials were dropped to 1. I'd love to see how far BillZ could get in a solo Lambda or BAF. And you still earn Threads and such even if you fail it so...

I HATE grinding anything. And if I ever felt like I was grinding I would stop doing whatever I was doing immediately. As a percentage of playstyle on a typical character from levels 1 to 50 I probably solo that character at least 85% to 90% of the time--so I like soloing. It feels appropriate to me that at level 50 the type of challenges I face should be significant enough that I need to be on a Team or League to confront it. I love having Trials available for my 50's. But I never focus on doing a single trial over and over again to the point it feels like a grind.

TonyV, you are my hero. Thank you for what you contribute to the game through ParagonWiki and through your posts on these forums. I feel like your opinion on most topics matches my own.

Bill, thank you also for your contributions, and this thread in particular. I think what you want for solo-mostly players is very reasonable. So reasonable in fact that I'm almost sure the Devs will address the 'solo' incarnate option in the future (soon I hope as well).

While the entire screen flickering issue in Praetoria (during the day only, btw) has to do with your shadow settings, what you describe, Kat, sounds like it's related to your Reflective Surfaces setting. I had flickering reflective surfaces until I turned my Reflective Surfaces setting to maximum and then they stopped flickering. It does cost a couple FPS, but it worth it.
  19. This thread amuses me. Please continue adding to its glory so that we may revisit it in the near future to chuckle over how silly we all were.

For those who have all tried it once and have sworn off ever doing it again, how many of you have been devorced at least once? Have we all forgotten the threads that appeared when the BAF and Lambda went live? Do the posts in this thread not smack of deja vu?

  21. Bah, humbug! Oh wait, wrong holiday.

Um, where is War Witch? Doth she desert us in our time of need? I've not seen hide nor hair of her since this whole CoH:F thing was announced.

Oh, and Happy Birthday my dear.

  23. 41 and having a baby for the first time. My best wishes for you and the baby's health, EM. When you are holding your daughter in your arms, there is a feeling that can't be put into words. No matter what happens before that, it makes it all worth it.
