Untrue statement is untrue. Heightened Senses provides DDR.
  2. If you have enough recharge to do Blaze->Blast->Blaze->Blast, I'd imagine it doesn't get better than that.
  3. This is my current Inv/SS build. I'm softcapped to S/L/E/N/F/C, without the PVP IO. Fully slotted attacks, good recharge, regen & recovery. The first thing you'll noticed is that Dull Pain and Conserve Power are both only 1 slotted. This is because I'm Alpha slotted with Cardiac Core, and my Destiny power is Rebirth: +Regen, which I use as my main heal. By making those choices I was able to place slots elsewhere. I have a few different power choices than you do, but perhaps you could use this for some ideas.

  4. I recently respec'd my Inv/SS to be softcapped to fire/cold. I had no intention on doing so, but lately I've been participating in lots of the fire farms. Also, I've been playing Red Side a lot, and from my experience, pure elemental damage is more prevalent there than blue side.

I'm experiencing crashes in both trials on a regular basis. If I don't quit and restart the game after every trial, I almost invariably experience a crash on the second trial. The type of crash varies: I have experienced all of the following:
    • A crash with a dialog that asks me to describe what I was doing which sends the report to NCsoft.
    • A crash that sends a report to Microsoft.
    • A sound loop crash.
    • A crash that has a dialog that tells me that it's about to crash and asks whether I want to continue or exit.
    • A dialog that tells me there is a corrupt .pigg file (not always the same one).
    • (Rarely) Windows tells me a bad instruction was executed.
    • The game exits straight out to Windows without any warning at all.

I have updated my drivers. I have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 SE (driver version 270.61, and the nVidia site tells me it's at the most recent version).

I notice (with Task Manager) that the memory footprint of the game increases over time, and I also notice that right before the crash the game begins to slow down, as if thrashing.

These things and the wide variety of crashes make me believe that the game client is running out of memory. The .pigg files are probably being reported falsely as corrupt because the game is running out of memory reading them in.

These are all indications of a memory leak, perhaps in one of the powers that's used over and over in the trials by one of the Praetorian clockwork.

I haven't really experienced crashes in other content, including regular TFs and missions. It's certainly possible that the leak is always there, but is especially bad during trials because the large numbers of players and power invocations.

However, the crashes seem to happen more often in Lambda than in BAF. I've been involved with several attempts for the Master of Lambda, which makes it take much longer than normal. Most of those attempts have ended in crashes.
This is almost dead on to what I have been experiencing. If I want to run more than 1 trial, I have to log completely out of the game, then log back in. Any attempt to run back to back trials result in a "Lost Connection To Mapserver" when I try zoning into either Trial after doing 1 already. Occasionally I can get away with it on Lambda, but BAF never lets me.

Unless the KB is flagged unresistable an Invuln running Unyielding will not get KB'd. Period.
The only things that have knocked me back on my Inv/SS are Hamidon and Statesman using the Hammer of Justice. I believe the power has unresistable knockback.

I think there is no reason to take away from what the OP is doing, and having fun while doing so.

That being said, it really is very heavily the pets.

The Warworks do a truly ridiculous amount of DPS.

I tested with one of my Brutes, no pets, and got a 5 min 2s pylon time, and then did it again with T3 Warworks and the time went to 2 min 10s.

I wasn't really excited about it. It wasn't my character doing the extra DPS. It was the pets. This is why I don't play MMs in the first place, I don't like NPC pets to do the work for me.

Pets are not like Toughness and Weave, or Hasten - those are things you have to fit into your build, you have to deal with their endurance costs, you have to dedicate slots to them.

The pets are this gigantic amazing freebie that costs you nothing in terms of fitting them into your build and making them work. You don't even need to slot them for End Rdx or Damage.

Again those require planning, you need to have a dedicated, optimal attack chain. You need to make build choices and sacrifices to make a melee character that can both survive the encounter and do enough DPS to solo an AV.

You don't need to do any of that with the pets.

That doesn't make it less fun to play with them, or try and do all kinds of things with them that you couldn't even attempt before.
Pretty much my feelings on the matter.
  10. Someone who's running around that fast would be very hard to hit. Thematically it fits. Many sets/powers are designed around theme, so it should include this change.

    ... It's pretty addicting actually.
    ding.
  12. I noticed this problem this morning too. So, Rage doesn't buff Judgement damage, but Rage drop debuffs Judgement damage? That's not really fair.
  13. So, whenever I enter an Incarnate Trial from Pocket D, I get the "Lost Connection To Mapserver" every single time. But, when I use the queue from any other zone, the issue is less of an issue.

That's what I was hoping they would do, animate in sequence. I'm using the ground punching animation of foot stomp. The animation involves raising the fist in the air for a second before punching the ground. The lighting costume change emote also raises its hand in the air, so I figured the two would sequence simultaneously.

Under slotted attacks and no Hasten, no thanks. I considered at one point softcapping fire/cold, but decided against it. Most if not all cold attacks, range and melee, have a lethal component which you will be protected from if your softcapped to S/L. Fire melee attacks also have a smashing component. Unless you go out of your way to fight CoT, you won't be facing pure range fire attacks. I'd rather build for other things and use insp's for those extremely rare encounters.

As for the OP, if you are looking for max DPS, its not so much about how many purples you have, its how about how your build comes together, how many procs it has and how it manages to blend survivability, sustainability (end) and a fluid high damage attack chain out.
The thread is specifically talking about WP/SS, not Fire/SS or other specific combos that can out DPS Scrappers/Brutes.

Which is good advice. Except. The thing is I have been running this guy on a softcapped build for the last month. Exclusively. He is the only character I plan to run in 2011. Building a nice hoard of shards for i20 too. So this build is for 2 main purposes. 1)Ouroboros and other solo work 2) Being the eighth tank on a team (Tanker Tuesdays) Basically anytime survivability really isnt a question. Depending if I can find the right farm, I might also run the build in AE to make a tidy profit. I will throw together my purple'd build for critique. I am really horrible at I/O sets, which is why I am asking for the help. I wish there were more Purp and PvP type stuff so that doing a good I/O build did not take days of research. Putting together a good build is as tough as prepping for a calculus exam, at least for me.
I think Syntax pretty much hit it on the head. Building for set damage bonuses is pretty futile, and your not going to out DPS Scrappers or Brutes. You can still do good DPS though. I don't have a WP/SS, but I do have a INV/SS which I have solo'd about 10 AV's with. I don't have any purple sets in that build either. I've slotted them on other toons before that I have, and other than recharge, I didn't really notice any other difference. If there worth it to you though, then go for them.
  21. Resistance and Hit Points are already capped per AT, and I think the defense soft cap should seriously be looked at being changed as well for the different archetypes.

Soft capping adds a level of survivability that shouldn't be achievable except for Tanks and possibly Brutes. My tank isn't going to reach the level of damage that my Scrapper or Blaster is going to do, so therefore my Scrapper or Blaster shouldn't be able to reach my Tanks survivability.

Yes, I realize Fire/ and Shield/ tanks can do insane amounts of damage. But tanks are limited to specific sets to reach that level of damage. Any powerset combination for Blasters or Scrappers can reach a defensive cap, or any powerset for any other AT for that matter.

    This was painful to read.
  23. How about this? Your softcapped to S/L/E/N, 3100+ HP, and near 700% regen with 1 foe in range. Maybe it can give you some ideas.
