There are so many different conceptual options, but it's almost surprising that there are also so many game mechanics that could still be added.
Assuming slight recombinations of what we currently have?
A primarily resistance set with some meaningful defence, like electricu which traded it's end tools for a bit of dodge or a fire tank which traded burn and firey embrace for some deflection.
A Positional set like SR or shields, without the damage or speed, but with enough +HP and +regen.
A set based around a scaling resist power like invincibility is to def or RTTC is to regen. Think of it as an inverse invincibility.
Going further afield, how about sets that rely a little more heavily on clicks? Regen for tankers? probably not, but imagine having a one with the shield power AND a MOG style power.
Still too similar... OK, how about a tank with some more single target controls... how about a tank with a ranged toggle debuff as standard... how about a very alpha prone tank with a short recharge, very short duration version of phantom army...
bah... we will get what we get, I hope for something strong and pretty.

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.
I think there are some other ATs that still need a new set more. I think Blasters have only ever been given one other secondary set, while I have had a lot more options given to my tanks.
Still, another round of proliferation would be quite nice with I21.

Think 'God mode'. The end recovery/heal would be on a crazy-fast timer, and working on a Tanker's base hitpoints. Plus the very high Def numbers of a Tanker would allow you to easily saturate and keep saturated that heal/end power.

With that metal armour idea, that would open it up to damage enchancements too.
Energy Aura probably needs another tweak, so I would think the set overall might receive a tweak when it gets ported. I'd love to see it on "heroic" characters, and to be able to use it. I'm kind of wanting to make a Claws/EA character, but I don't want to make another Brute, and I'm not keen on a stalker, as I want to be able to see the character more for where I want to go with them.
Main thing that EA needs is probably higher resists, or +HP, and/or a better heal. Energy Drain can work well in a crowd, but it's going to be pathetic in a long AV fight or when you need a heal and there aren't a bunch of people around. I'm honestly not sure why a 3% heal off of every target hit was seen as enough with its first tweak. Dark Regeneration does 10x the heal for not even 3x the endurance cost... that's pathetic. Dark Regeneration does hit your end bar hard, but at least it's still usable when you only have one hard target you're facing.
I wonder how hard it would be to make Ice work for Brutes... it was there for them with the old set up for fury, but then removed. You'd think they could use a lot of that setup to make it work.

Personally I would love to see a Plant armor ala swamp thing and then port spines.

Goo armor. Just think the final power could turn you into Gloop or Gleep actually that would be the best final armor.. Division turns you into Gloop and you make a clone of yourself for Gleep.

Before he left I PMed Castle about something very similar (an IO that does the same thing when you are dealt damage)
His reply was that it was not something the devs would allow because it would take up way too many CPU cycles for it to function.
Basically, this power would make everyone around you lag horribly when the server's CPU is forced to calculate the results of a bunch of enemies attacking you at once. Now, imagine if there is more than one person using it, like at a ship raid for example.
Even though Castle isn't here anymore, I have no reason to believe the devs who took over his position would not take the exact same stance on it from a game mechanics standpoint. I mean, why would the devs introduce a power that they know will hurt the gameplay of anyone in the vicinity of the person using it?

Yes, you'd have an unkillable tank.....that couldn't hold agro to save his life.

If you wanted to make a REALLY weird tank set, you could drop Energy Aura, and give them Repulse from the Stalker version, and add a taunt component to it, so that the enemies are being repeatedly thrown away, only to run back.
A better idea would be to just add a taunt aura to an existing power, like they did with Super Reflexes. Adding Taunt to Energy Cloak would be weird, so probably one of the basic toggles, or maybe the mez protect toggle?

change energy cloak for a tank to not be a stealth. Make it the taunt aura and still a defense power as well.
I have a kinetic melee/energy brute which sometimes is great... sometimes go splat... and on a terrible terrible ITF, went splat more times than the toon ever has since I made it. (compared to two great ones where it never was defeated but only because of extra buffs which it HAD to have.)
My dislike for the toon is more because of kinetic melee and my real dislike of power siphon. I would rather have a "fulcrum shift" which is similar to soul drain I think.
Energy Armor would not be as durable as Ice Armor. Since I leveled up my stone/fire... I have not played my ice/stone...
The passives would need to be much stronger, which I think they need to be anyways.
Conserve Power... what to make it become? I would go for Energize, to keep with the theme of lowering endurance cost. The added regeneration I think would be very important and needed. (I know I want it now on my brute...)
I still want Radiation Armor.

I've basically tried every armor possible and got it to 50, so I have a couple new armor ideas and 2 powers that would make it different than the other armors:
Metal Armor (Probably tried for development already):
The 2 powers I think should be in it are:
Reflecting Armor: Toggle, Ability: +Res(Energy, Negative, Psionics), Whenever one of these damage types hit you, some of the damage dealt reflects back at the foe who attacked with it.
Impervium Wall: Click. Creates a wall in front of you which blocks enemy's and your sight of attack and requires the enemies to go behind the wall to attack you.

Insect Protection:
The 2 powers I think should be in it are:
Centipede Call: Toggle, PBAoE ability: +regen, +recovery. Foe -DMG, -DEF.
Cloak of Roaches: Click, gives you +regen, +maxhp, +recharge for 1.5 minutes.
Post in this thread other Armor ideas or other ideas for the Armors mentioned already.
