You can use two free server transfers to rename the character, as moving to a server where the name is already in use forces a free rename. (Or you can use one transfer, if you don't mind the character staying on another server, but most people use two so they can get it back home afterwards.)

I'm not sure I follow the logic, there. It leads to people making an *in-game* profit by spending RL money on the packs and selling the contents in game, surely? Trading in-game items for inf/other in-game items has always been okay: even selling Costume Codes for inf has been allowed, while trading art for inf hasn't been, because the art is an out-of-game item.

Making a RL profit would require selling the ATOs for actual cash, in an out-of-game transaction followed by an in-game transfer of the ATOs. That would be against the EULA, but presumably be no more of a risk than with any other IO.
  3. AFAIK, Beta Server is VIP only.
  4. I'll give you ten million inf total for all five.

If you save up PPs from the VIP stipends until your sub runs out, then you can buy a 30 day invention license for 160 PPs. That should keep your IOs ticking along for quite a while.
  6. Unless you have already dropped some money on extra PP, your IOs will no longer work. 3 years 9 months gets you to somewhere in Tier 6. Functional IOs require a full Tier 7.

    This is an excellent list.

I'd like to add: confused and inconsistent information from customer service regarding VIP account rewards. Also, not allowing VIP to buy items in anticipation of going Premium (which means that can't take advantage of sale prices for some items).

Fire/Psi is nice for soloing. I soloed a Fire/Psi Blaster to 50, and it was a pretty smooth ride.

BTW, my main is a Fire/Ice Blaster, which I play as a hover blaster, only really using the ranged control powers from the secondary.

I'm pretty sure that consumables and ATIOs are going to ignore the no-repeat rules. If they don't, there will be an even bigger outcry than there is already. Being only able to get one set of, f'rex, the Scrapper ATIO ever through cards would make people livid. And, wow, the prices in inf for trading them would be INSANE. (And the ATIO enhancers would have to be repeatable by design.) Also, it would be crazy from the point of view of profit not to allow people to spend money on packs to slot ATIOs on multiple characters of the same AT.

The costume set being spread across all rarities sounds nice on the face of it. However, what it means is that a (relatively) low number of pack purchases will get you most of the costume pieces in the set. Not all. Probably not the nicest and most significant ones, assuming the packs are designed by people who want to make money. Then you're chasing the pieces from the Rare and Very Rare brackets, where the Very Rare are competing with 72 ATIOs plus ATIO enhancers, plus whatever else is in that pool. Not such good odds.

This has been my issue with buying any of the sale IOs.

If they were in the Market all the time, at somewhere around $1 an IO, then I can definitely see myself picking up things like Kin Combat as I level new characters, just for the convenience and levelling benefit (I level fairly slowly, so my characters tend to spend a lot of time at the kind of levels where the attuned IOs will really be useful). But I'm not willing to lay in a stock of them 'just in case', because I have no idea what toons I'll be levelling in the future. And I can't be bothered to respec just for exemping, when exemping toons are overpowered already.

  13. So...not a thread about getting a giant eyeball costume, then?

The Rulu-Shin...eh. I like the spiky/feathery part of the chest piece and gloves, but the eyeballs make it pretty concept specific and I also find them a bit silly looking, so I can't see myself actually buying them or any pieces that were on the same theme. Maybe if there was an eyeball-free variant (and they weren't pre-tinted).

If there were Rularuu costume pieces, I'd be in favour of making them Shadow Shard TF unlocks. But I know there are a lot of people who absolutely hate unlockable costume pieces.

Well, the 28th was the date on which the CS person who dealt with my ticket swore my tokens would arrive each month forever after, before they showed up on the 23rd or 24th for two months running.
  15. Remember that controllers (and MMs) are locked for Premium accounts.
  16. I'd run a SSA on him to get a second merit.

You can save the chat channel setup for each server into a named file, and then load it when you log in to the server. The commands are:

    /chat_save_file filename
    /chat_load_file filename

You can have as many different files as you need.

Interesting. I'd wondered if that was the case, but I'd never bothered to do the experiments to test it.

No. If you repeatedly listed items for 1 inf when there were outstanding bids, you'd sell them in the order 10000000, 2500000, 1000000, 500000, 18000, 1000, 200.

If that were the case the pattern should be 1000, 100, 10, 10 assuming those were the 4 highest bids out there when I listed.
Listing stacks sometimes leads to slightly odd results, as the market UI doesn't always seem to report transactions in the exact order they happened, and sometimes doesn't report every transaction at all. For example, I've regularly seen that I listed, say, three Alchemical Silvers, and all three sold for the same price, but only one 'sale' popped up in the list.

Also, there seems to be some lag in the system. When I was trading Silver back and forth with someone to help them get the WW sales badges (we were both buying stacks for 10 each, listing for 1), we noticed that several times WW would 'freeze'. We'd both have stacks of bids up and stacks of Silver for sale, but nothing moved for several seconds. Then sales would start transacting again.

However, if you tried listing the pieces of salvage one at a time, I predict that you'd see the sales go through according to the highest bid to lowest listing rule (allowing, of course, for any bids being placed between your sales).

It's almost inspirational in its badness.

The most depressing thing is that it's just an on-line store interface. This is not cutting edge technology. It's like someone inventing a new way of publishing books where the pages are sorted alphabetically by the first letter on each page and then stored in 26 unlabelled buckets full of mealworms.

This genuinely makes me a little bit sad. The fog and the ghosts were my two favourite things about the zone. The way things loom up out of the grey is one of the most atmospheric parts of the whole game, especially combined with the cold glow of the BP. And the fade-out ghosts are both creepy and touching. I occasionally go in there with a level 50 and break up BP rituals just so that the ghosts will come up and thank me.

    So...

Approximately what values did you have in mind? As a percentage of Scrapper def/res and blaster damage:

    Base damage value.
    Damage cap without Fury.
    Damage cap with Fury.
    Ranges.

    HP cap.
    Resist and damage base values.
    Resist and damage caps.

All you have to do is give some reasonable, balanced values, and the whole tankmage argument is utterly demolished.

Yes! I'm sure that those crafty marketing people would want to make sure that players have plenty of stipend points around for the sale, and so not have to buy as many extra points to take advantage of it.
