  1. Justice United is the reincarnation of Chrome Support, which has existed alongside JFA for some time with no ill effects, as far as I know. Hope this helps.

    Defender Debate

    Seconded.

Also, to Catwhoorg, the defender version of Ice Storm is an aberration because it's using the blaster version of the pseudopet that creates the effect. The same is true for Blizzard. Just an FYI.
  4. My handle was the result of a jibe at overpowered characters (Godpants McAwesome), although I created it just before the new forums went online. There is a Godpants character in my roster who got his powers from pants worn by a god, but I'm leaving him gimped out of spite
  5. The PvP IOs have a low drop rate to start with, and the rate at which they're eligible to drop is tied to the reputation timer. So, even in a large brawl, the odds of getting one are slim, and everyone would have to change partners after the first round to get a rep-eligible kill.

Sounds kinda like a square dance, actually
  6. The advantage of the Steel WW/University location is that you don't have to zone as you would when entering your base. For some folks, that may be an issue.

Villainside, I like the Port Oakes BM/Abandoned lab. Pocket D is close by if I want to access the Vault, although it takes a zone change.
  7. How about the Dark Miasma powers are really clouds of nanites swarming your opponents to produce various effects?
  8. You can also purchase temporary powers to teleport you directly to Wentworth's or the Black Market, although you can only use them once every 30 minutes.
  9. Seconded for both the move and SwellGuy's suggestion. It would be nice to have a "reslot" recipe that would allow you to swap enhancements around without being able to change power picks.

Of course, it would also be nice if the current respecs didn't force you to start all over from level one.
  10. I think the "checkpoints" idea is a good one, and it would seem easy to implement. Essentially, they'd be SG base med stations with different appearances. For an added thrill, perhaps you wouldn't come back at full health.

That might allow there to be more incentive for exploration. As it stands now, exploration is completely voluntary, and I think that's as it should be.
  11. Well, good luck with the redside market. Last time I checked, Crushing Impacts move regularly, but they're not cheap. A level 50 shouldn't have too much trouble earning the dough to pay for them, although you probably won't get them all at once. AE tickets are another option.

    Good luck!
  12. I'd say recharge bonuses. Those will bring your click heals and MoG back sooner as well as letting you attack and use Placate, Build Up or other tricks more often as well. Another suggestion is to try to nab a bit of resistance via Resiliance and Tough plus whatever bonuses you can work in.

Remember, no matter how much defense you get through set bonuses, Regeneration doesn't have debuff resistance of any kind in PvE, so a couple good sword hits or machine gun blasts may leave you with zilch.
  13. Not really. In game, our characters spend enough time playing errand boy that I'm used to the lack of free will, and any "mystery" is just something the boss forgot to tell you. Anyway, as has been said, CoX is an action game, and I like it that way. Also, a story that appears mysterious or confusing may just be poorly written and vague.
  14. My Kheld Khilling energy/regen stalker will have a nice purple nictus-y glow from Integration, and the pom-poms will probably go white.

I'll change my Sonic defender's blasts to orange to match the shields, but I'm so used to the colors for other sets as they are that the defaults are fine by me.

    Defensive Stay

Defensive stay works if the pets don't have line of sight to an enemy. I've used it to set up ambushes when having the pets follow would have resulted in a mosh pit otherwise. (i.e. You guys stay over here, I'll lure the victim back.)

However, as others have pointed out, in an open battle, pets will chase their target and generally dance all over the map. I use the goto command to corral the herd, but my MM's primary is Ninjas, so it's generally better to have them dogpile a few targets at a time.
  16. Question for those who spam the forums: See the OP.

Pointin' at you, bwah. Pointin' at you.
  17. I've been wondering if taking Weave or building for defense on a set that has no defense debuff resistance is as worthwhile as it may seem. Sure, you can get decent defense, but if all it takes is one hit from a sword swipe or mini-gun to wipe out a good chunk of your protection - well...

Granted, a Fire/Fire tank won't be getting any mitigation from its secondary (stuns, knockdown, etc.), so any bit of defense will help.

    dual blade

The individual Dual Blades attacks aren't END-hungry, but it's a quick set, and spamming the attacks can tire you out. In fact, you have to launch a series of attacks to activate the combos.

Tips from my experience include that you don't have to launch every segment of a combo against the same target, so that could be a bonus for a gauntlet-savvy tank. However, the set is DOT-ish, so you may end up twirling in the air long after your team's burst damage has dispatched the enemy.

    Good luck!
  19. Bah. No love for Shockwave and the Kinetic Crash set it can take? Cone knockback can be good mitigation, as long as you learn to aim it, and the full set gives +7.5% recharge, +6% regeneration and 3 points of KB protection, plus some other goodies.

    Just a thought.
  20. Numbers wise? Yes, heroes have the edge in most categories. They have the ATs with the highest buff/debuff values, damage modifiers (although not damage caps), defense values, etc. The old joke is that villain ATs don't have a primary and secondary powerset - they have two secondaries. Also, only one AT redside has a defensive/control primary, so villains tend to dish it out better than they can take it.

    hello

I'm going to have to disagree with Electronite. The broadcast channel isn't the best way to find teams. It's full of spam, and many people simply turn it off. There are two Justice-related chat channels that may help you out: JFA2010 and Chrome Support. These are generalist channels for teaming, badge-hunting, etc.

Also, you've already found the forums, and they're good for finding information on Super Groups, character builds and other features of the game.

Finally, don't worry about the fastest way to level up. The early levels will go by fairly quickly, and you can get your travel power by level 14. By rushing to 50, you'll miss more opportunities than you'll generate, I think.

Welcome to CoH and to Justice!
  22. I'm always willing to help, as long as the person asking isn't pushy, belligerent or a prima donna. Also, if you find yourself mentoring someone in a team situation, I've found it's better to praise publicly and criticize privately.

It is if you only need 1~2% of that amount to be set for life with SOs or generic IOs. Done it many times.
  24. No pre-issue blues here. I take the Murphy's Law approach and am instead glad the new bugs and glitches haven't arrived yet.

    See? Optimism.

    Build Judge

The build looks workable, but are you going to be playing PvE or PvP? I noticed you did not have a travel power outside of Combat Jumping and Hurdle, which will work but might not provide the speed you need for a PvP getaway. Also, unless it's for concept, Stealth and Invisibility are overkill in PvE. Dark Blast is kind of sitting there by its lonesome, too.

I'd recommend posting in the Stalker forum for more expert advice.

    Good luck!
