/Regen stalker, recharge or defence?

Hi Folks

Had my stalker at 50 for a while now (claws/regen) and earned quite a bit of infamy. Got her all tooled out with basic IO's, but now want to start looking at set bonuses. So, the question is, for a /regen is it best to go for defence or recharge bonuses? Having heals and MoG up as much as possible would be the goal for recharge, but obviously if I had defence I wouldn't need it as much.
Is it even possible to reach the defence softcap on a regen? (I mean without paying ten billion infamy).
Thoughts appreciated

I'd say recharge bonuses. Those will bring your click heals and MoG back sooner as well as letting you attack and use Placate, Build Up or other tricks more often as well. Another suggestion is to try to nab a bit of resistance via Resiliance and Tough plus whatever bonuses you can work in.

Remember, no matter how much defense you get through set bonuses, Regeneration doesn't have debuff resistance of any kind in PvE, so a couple good sword hits or machine gun blasts may leave you with zilch.

I don't have a Regeneration Stalker, but I do have a Regeneration Scrapper and slotting for recharge is the way to go. Defense is fine and all, but being able to have Instant Healing, Reconstruction and Moment of Glort up more often is better than having noncapped defense in my opinion.

I basically applied that same logic to my Ninjitsu Stalker when it came to my mez protection and heal, the faster the recharge the better even though she has capped positional defense.

Go recharge and you will be a happy happy person.

Truthfully, Recharge for Regen stalkers, Recharge for regen in general. Get your HP accolades aswell, it helps deal with and manage large damage spikes.

I have to comment on ninjitsu.

I prefer recharge on ninjitsu, but then again, after almost 4 bil in my ninjitsu, in PvE hes soft-capped too .

I would go for both and weave shadow meld, mog and demonic.

That's a bit of overkill. I would never dump 4B into any character.

My Nin is sitting at 45 melee and 51 ranged without Hide and about 40% recharge without Hasten. I could have gone for more recharge because I would love to have Sha and Rin up as much as possible, but with Hasten running having Sha every 21 seconds is good and Rin overlaps so I can't complain.

Thanks for the advice folks. Time to spend some cash on recharge. Anyone selling cheap crushing impacts?

Well, good luck with the redside market. Last time I checked, Crushing Impacts move regularly, but they're not cheap. A level 50 shouldn't have too much trouble earning the dough to pay for them, although you probably won't get them all at once. AE tickets are another option.

Good luck!

I'd go for both, around 20% to ranged and melee will go a long way to increasing your survivability.
