Quote:Very true.Don't forget as well that -resist is a damage multiplier, whereas a standard damage buff like Assault is only additive.
In other words the more Damage buffs you have from other sources (enhancements, alpha slots, teams and self buffs like Build-Up) the more bang you get from the -resist. -
Might be too early to say, but I THINK my lockup issue has been resolved.
I'll do some more testing but at least for now it appears that talking to NPCs is safe again. -
-
You know, I've seen a lot of mentioned of the Iggy/Val Blademaster BS/Regen build but never actually seen it. Can anyone give me a point to the right thread?

Quote:This is something I noticed as well. And most of my controls are overslotted for mez and underslotted for damage.I have a Fire^3 Dom planned, and I think I'll go Musculare Radial. The Damage boost also helps the Immobilize and Hold powers that are not slotted for damage.
Well, overslotted is a bit of an exagerration. Can you really have too much mez? =) -
Mine's not permadom, a bit less than 1/3 of the way there. But still had only occasional issues with confusing the spawns. The trick is that confusion is not the only tool in Plant's box. Creepers, vines, chance to hold slotted in roots, etc. and I was able to lock down all of the spawns with the help of some scrappers and a traps corrupter.
On a later run with a permadom plant tag teaming them it was much easier. So yes it is helpful. But by no means necessary. -
Cheapest on recharge for high damage output is Incinerate-scorch-cremate-scorch. You can run that with no global recharge and it does solid damage.
Then the next step up is Incinerate-firesword-scorch. Uses a bit more recharge, a lot more endurance, and does moderately more damage.
Big jumps in recharge are needed to hit the two highest chains, which Auroxis already posted. They are only a bit more damage though. -
Quote:Not true. First off, the pug system will lead to extreme frustration from minimum-sized teams that fail regularly. It's true. Even "casual" gamers can participate in the new incarnate trials. From start to finish you can easily complete either trial in 30 minutes or less (not including the time it takes to form a team).
Secondly, only experienced teams can do the trials in under 30 minutes. I played all day Saturday, did the two trials 3 times each, not once under half an hour (not counting time to form the teams) except for a BAF trial we failed on phase 2 when too many patients escaped. (BAF I actually did 5 times).
third, after all that, I have no slots unlocked, am 92% to judgement, only 48% to whatever the one for Lamda is, and don't have enough salvage to craft anything even if I use breakdowns.
Casual play cannot "easily" complete the trials that fast. A good team, yes. A casual team? No. -
If you're solo, then the damage is definitely better. But if you're with a team, even 2.5% is better than a damage buff since it increases all damage from all members of the team.

Quote:On a well built fire/rad controller I think you're probably right. Dead too fast to get more than 2 checks would be my guess.I've got it in my fire/rad controller's choking cloud and honestly don't think it makes any difference because everything's dead too quickly.
Unless you're a weak scrapper with RttC, you're not going to have that many guys around you for that long. Sure, it'll proc every 10 seconds...on one of the guys around you, not necessarily a boss.
For AV hunting, sure.
I say sell. Better to throw even a common Acc or End IO in there, or use the slot somewhere else.
(Anyone got math to (dis)prove this feeling of mine?)
On a poorly built one (or one played poorly, such as my fire/kin) that might be different. Basically, if a spawn lasts 30 seconds or more, the chance to hold is functional. If the spawn lasts 50 seconds or more (common for my fire/kin) it is not only functional it is highly useful. If the spawn lasts less than 20 seconds it is significantly less useful than a damage proc. -
Quote:Base portal is pretty far. Vanguard is closer in St Martial than in Cap, but around a corner, ferry is insignificantly farther (like 30 yards or something). Vendor is substantially closer than cap. Trainer and fateweaver are farther.Hmm, how close is the base portal? The BM at Capple Dapple is just *so* damned convenient- Ferry, Vanguard base, AE, base portal (and when I have everything on me and don't need to access my salvage bins) the Uni. Also, the Fateweaver, vendor for selling trash, and a trainer.
overall, St Martial is very nice. -
Quote:I've never really been that impressed with the damage out of fire compared to ice. Sure it's better at killing minions, but on Bosses and especially AVs, the -Res in ice goes so much farther.I'm also on the bandwagon for Cardiac -- the extra range is the bomb for Acid Reflux Breath (the extra ranges boosts the size of the power's AoE). And, with the fire APP, you have the option to do an OMG huge amount of ranged AoE damage. Cardiac further gels well with this mix of powers since all that AoE carnage tends to come at a massive end cost.
Especially with judgement available now, fire just isn't looking too tastey, but ice is looking better and better.
on Cardiac, I'm a bit torn. I drool over the extra damage from musculature, but I do see the advantage of both the range and the end reduction allowing more and more of the higher end attacks. Sigh. I hate having to choose =) but I guess in the end I have 3 builds, might as well use two of them =) -
I agree with Yomo. I have some parked level 15 and 25 characters I run AE with and roll bronze. I get a TON of great recipes. Combined with the random junk I pull just from playing I basically can ignore TOs, DOs, and SOs on all my characters. I occasionally slot an accuracy if it drops and I need one, but I'm more likely to buy or craft a common IO.
I have a base with about 80 level 30 and lower IOs stored and when my characters get over level 35 I tend to respec and put some of the more useful IOs back into storage for the next alt.
The trick is, don't be picky. Don't worry about going for the triples if all that are for sale are duals. If you get too many dam/rech and not enough dam/end, suck it up for a few levels and search again. Keep an eye out for the unusual sets, like Acc/End or Acc/Rech from a def debuff set slotted into an attack if you can't find enough accuracy in a melee or ranged set for sale at the level you want.
Also, use this forum for requests. Quite a few poeple have characters in Mid level crisis who have been great about helping when someone posts looking for a specific set at specific levels.
I have a few low level IOs that haven't sold for over 5 months even when priced at 50k or lower. But again, I don't sweat it, all of my characters have at least 5 unused market slots at all times so , meh. It can sit until someone needs it.
I sell about 10 or more under level 30 IOs per week. Not for a lot of money per sale, but usually at a reasonable markup in %. Mostly I do it for the karma =) and it seems to be working as I never have trouble finding something that will work, even if I don't have exactly what is best. -
just incase you missed it, I do NOT have the issue (knock on wood) and I'm on an older ATI card (Radeon HD2600). So it looks like it is something to do with the newer ATI cards.

Quote:If those are your numbers you're actually guessing 4.4:1 compared to my 5:1.My guess is more like 3:1, assuming 2 mil profit from each bronze and 5 mil for each silver.
Any other bets?
Let's assume 1575 tickets, for 3 silver rolls at level 30-34, and 22 bronze rolls in that same range.
At 5m silver, and 3m bronze, that's 15m profit for the silver, and 66m for the bronze for a ratio of 4.4:1.
I am interested to see how this turns out. I'd love to see the gold included too but even with the occasional Luck of the Gambler etc I can't see gold rolls ever working out to be 100x more valuable than an equal number of bronze. -
Definitely not all. They did make a few more incarnate types that have it for the i20 trials. These are to handle leagues where the assumption is people will have buffs. But from all the discussion I've seen, it is not all praetorians and not all incarnate enemies. just a few specific ones, and even then they are primarily intended for scenarios where buffs are plentiful.
I may be wrong, but if so I blame the scrapper forum =) -
Quote:Actually, I see a lot of people listing way below cost. Look at many of the junk sets that require two rares to craft. I forget which, but one piece of a sleep set was only going for 1m for instance. Sell the rares for 5m easy. Be lucky to buy them for less than 3 (combined I mean).due to the 10% fee you need to sell at 111% of cost to make any profit. Thats the lowest you can list for and come out ahead. Most people dont take such a hit on profits, but I will, and generally dont have issues with lowballers. I also dont do purples currently.
I see this a lot right now. -
I'm on an ATI Radeon HD2600 and it is working for me. Which is nice. I will have to test later to see if I still get the talk to an NPC and hang crash.
Have any of you tried using safe mode? -
In general I like the concept where everyone gets something different, but I do wish that instead of it going automatically by AT, instead that you could select which you got when you used the machine.
but ah well, it is not how they envisioned it. Still a fun SF, I enjoy it much more than Khan, except for doing that last fight without a MM/Defender. -
Also remember that the Acc/Dam can't be bought with A-Merits. And the other doubles cost 1 merit while the triple costs 2.

Quote:Some highlights from Pool B that can only come from silver rolls:and Silver includes the completely useless pool B, whereas Bronze does not.
Achilees Heel Proc
2x Basilisk's Gaze
2x Eradication
2x Expedient Reinforcement
Gaussian's Triple
Kinetic Combat Damage/Recharge
Lockdown Triple
Miracle Heal
Miracle Triple
Obliteration Triple
Obliteration Dam/Rch
Performance Shifter triple
Rectified Reticle Perception
A few of those are quite valuable and all of them are reliably valuable. There are others that drift in and out of value (posi's blast, clouded senses, touch of death, Mako, etc).
So I'll disagree with "completely useless".
Now, I will make a prediction that bronze will out-earn silver by a factor of 5:1 or greater. Enough that it is an inverse of the increased cost. Essentially saying if you made silver rolls cost as low as bronze, and bronze as high as silver that bronze would still be the better choice. So we may be talking a case of Po-tay-toe po-tah-toe here. =) -
Quote:My obligatory correction of false information on the comparative enhancement value of IOs and SOs:Except for a few specific items it's pretty hard to sell IOs in that range. Level 28-35 IOs generally sell reasonably well since they are popular with level 50s exemplering down but set IOs in that range provide less benefit than SOs so aren't particuarly popular.
+0 SO = 33.3%
Level 17 Triple Set IO = 32.7%
Level 21Dual Set IO = 33.6%
Level 18 Triple Set IO = 34.7%
+3 SO = 38.3%
Level 20 Triple Set IO = 38.4%
Level 24 Dual Set IO = 38.4%
Low level sets provide higher bonuses than SOs. -
