Don't forget that access to Ouroboros is gated to level 14 now (was level 25 until I21/Freedom), and also the Ouroboros Portal power that grants access requires prerequisites (see the linked wiki article for more details). However, there is an exploration badge within Ouroboros that grants the power, so the easiest thing is to usually just ask someone who already has an O-Portal to drop one for you (once you're level 14, of course), go to Ouroboros, and get the badge.

The Pilgrim's missions are minimum level 25 still (since that was the minimum level to access Ouroboros, and his is the introductory arc), so you'll have to wait until at least then. The mission you want in order to get your Isolator badge is called, appropriately enough, "Outbreak".

As has been pointed out, the Flashback system via Ouroboros gives you the opportunity to go back and get any badge you need with very few exceptions, so don't feel like you have to scramble around anymore and worry about your leveling speed for badges.

Good luck, welcome back, and happy badging!
  2. Just head to Cap or Talos, hop the portal to the Underground, then a few feet away into the door to First Ward.

Aha, right you are -- dunno how I missed that! Tier 2 (2 Tokens owned) unlocks the 500,000,000 inf cap, Tier 3 (5 Tokens) unlocks the 1 bil inf cap, and Tier 4 (8 tokens) unlocks the 2 bil inf cap.

    Spiffy!
  4. I'm definitely in for a donation to help out! Hope your friend finds a great setup that will let him play the game easily!

From what I read, f2p players have an influence cap of 25 million. Any info would be great. Thanks.
First, you would go to Premium status, not free, since you have spent money (i.e., you are a VIP currently).

Second, IIRC, the Free players' inf cap is WAY less than what you listed, around 200,000 or something like that. Someone will correct me if I'm off on that number, I'm certain.

To the best of my knowledge, when you go to Premium status, you don't lose anything on your "locked" toons -- you just lose access to them (and all their stuff). As far as an inf cap for Premium players, I haven't heard of one.

Don't forget the Flashback mechanism, available via Ouroboros at level 14. If you want to run anything you accidentally outleveled, you can do it there.

Also, there is a setting in your Options to disable earning XP if you ever want to slow down and enjoy the scenery some.

Keep in mind that if you only want 2 billion, you can sell on the in-game market (Auction House). You'll have to pay the listing and selling costs, but the transaction will be handled automatically by the game.

The only time you have to worry about the trade logistics is if you are selling an item for higher than 2 billion. I suggest you read through a few of the "for sale" threads here in this forum to get an idea of how people tend to handle that situation.

Best of luck on your impending billions!

If you're referring to Apex and Tin Mage TFs, no, a Premium or Free player should NOT be able to even participate, since a requirement for even starting the TF is that all characters must have their Alpha Incarnate slot unlocked (at minimum). The -4 level debuff happens for toons without the Alpha slot populated.

(Now maybe a Premium player with a toon that unlocked Alpha while still a VIP or subscriber could participate in these TFs, but if so, I'd say that's not working as intended.)

Actually not -- it's 1 Reward Token per 1,200 Paragon Points purchased, which isn't the same thing, because the bonus points you receive for purchasing in bulk actually count toward the bonus Reward Tokens.

Agreed. I'm thinking it may have been in one of the Ustream chats...
  13. Should just be able to go the main web page (http://na.cityofheroes.com/en/freedom.php), click on the "Play Free Now!" link, attach it to his Master Account and be all set.

  15. We were awarded them early, at the launch of I21. Starting in October the cycle will be as expected (i.e., you'll receive them on your billing date).

This is a lot of the fun of it for me.

ANY purchase moves a Free account to Premium status.

The minimum purchase in the store, though, is $5.00 (400 PPs), since you don't directly buy things (you buy the PPs that buy things), so effectively yes, $5.00 ends up being the "cost" for upgrading to Premium status.

Yes, and the reason the poster got 3 tokens when he spent his first $15 is because everyone gets 1 token, and then like you pointed out, one for the 1,200 points he purchased and one marking his first-time purchase.

From this point on, it'll be the usual 1,200 points = 1 Reward Token.

Absolutely, same here. This is a worthy endeavor, and with so many people returning to the game (hopefully), it's more important than ever!

Keep in mind, too, that you cannot get purples farming in AE (with only one specific exception, the handful of "Devs' Choice" arcs), so that works out pretty well for you if you are solely fixated on purple-farming.
  23. Post-I21 I've gotten normal-seeming insp drops on my 50s (I don't really play anything below 50 generally) -- meaning T1s, T2s and T3s in what (for me) has been "normal"-seeming frequency.
