    Ssd?

You might want to read this interview about SSDs. The more you know as a consumer the better off you are.
  2. As you travel back and forth through Nerva, keep a watch for Consiglieres, they spawn on that first island in Crimson Cove near the ferry. I can usually get that badge just by "drive by" hunting those Consigliere before I hit level 32.

    Unusual slotting

I six slotted Kick with Kinetic Crash on my fire/fire scrapper, knockback is at 170.91% for Mag 4.22. I love using it as a finishing move when the target has a sliver of Health left, kick 'em in the nads and watch the corpse go flying!
    It makes me giggle.

One of the commands used (I think it's the tray switch one) causes a bug that truncates the macro, re-ordering the commands fixes it.
I did that and it still happens occasionally. I know I could fix the problem using bind_load_file instead of macros and someday I might actually do it, but for now I'm comfortable with the occasional kludge fix I do.
  5. Just something to be aware of, if your macro has too many characters in it, it will be truncated. If its long, but not so long it gets truncated, it might still get truncated upon zoning.

Use /player_note_local "your character's name" and write the command that's in your long macros there. (You only need the "s around your character's name if its more than one word.) After zoning check your macros (if you are having the truncate problem), if the macros broke just bring up your player_note_local and copy paste the command back into the macros.

I have this problem with my warshade, I have to do this very rarely. I can sometimes play for hours without this problem surfacing, but when it occasionally happens you want to be prepared.

You can also do it via a slash command.
    inspexec_pet_name
Activates an inspiration on a pet by name. Inspiration Name then Pet Name.

    Example.
    /inspexecpetname resurgence marion
That drops a Resurgence (large green) on your pet named Marion.

Useful for binds, not so much in combat. Maybe if you type 100 wpm . . .
  7. Werner, if you don't like the sounds, then silence the sounds. The oggs you need to replace are listed here.

I hate the shriek also, so that's what I did.
  8. While flying around Dark Astoria it suddenly occurred to me (as I was plowing into the ground), that a simple VSI (Vertical Speed Indicator) added to the Nav window could be really useful.

For example a small arrow on the left of the Nav window pointing up if you're climbing, pointing down if you are descending, the length of the arrow proportional to the angle of climb. For small angles of climb, say ± 1°, show a horizontal line.

    Climbing: ↑
    Descending: ↓
    Roughly horizontal flight: ─

Mostly I see it useful for flying across longer maps while you go AFK. Useful or not?

Didn't see a thread about this when I did a search although I'm positive its been mentioned at some point during the last few years.
  9. Bring up your Options menu, on the Controls tab there is a setting for Mouse Scroll Speed. Have you tried changing that?
  10. It is annoying, I use the command /release_pets to dismiss all my pets and then resummon them. It takes a little time, an annoying amount of time, but at least then I have my pets so I can finish the mission.

    2) Is anything slowing the fan down, like a build up of dust or hair wrapped in the blades or anything? Clean all the dust off your components as best you can, as by spraying it with compressed air. Do this outside, unless you've got a vacuum cleaner to catch the loosened debris.
Do NOT let the fan blades spin freely when using the compressed air, you can use a pencil to keep the blades from moving.

    Change Font

TweakCoH is mentioned in the thread as a much easier method to change fonts, and lots of other setting in CoH. However the link that was posted is no longer valid, the link I placed above is the current link.
  14. And no one mentioned Super Speed in those twisty turny caves? You hit one of those dips and go face first into the ceiling than fall to the floor, I died once running through one of those maps when my health was in the red.
    "Did we miss some trolls?"
    "What killed you?"

"I ran into the ceiling. Doh!"
  15. Before the re-install did you see this stuttering in CoH? If not you might want to roll back your video drivers, I'm using the 191.07 drivers myself with no problems (albeit for 64 bit Vista).

Looking at your HijackThis log, do you need the VM tray and MS messenger running in the background? If not you might want to disable their "run on start up."

I really don't see any problems so far, my next question would be about your internet connection. Check your Netgraph the next time your playing and see if it goes wonky in time with the freezes. (In this case "wonky" is indicated by Red and/or Yellow spikes in your Netgraph or the green bars get very high, indicating a high ping.) You see your Netgraph by typing "/netgraph 1" to turn it on and "/netgraph 0" turns it off.
  16. Instead of a DXDiag, post a CoHHelper report and a HijackThis log. That gives us the best shot at figuring things out.
  17. Have you read here yet?

Near the bottom is the info on how to call them. It is a toll number.

Instead of just "learning to live with it" do some Statesman TFs and choose the Synthetic Hami-O as your reward. If its not the one you want, sell it. Eventually you will have the Membranes you need.

G-ville is a pain for non-flyers, but it's great, it's home to me.

CoV was the game I bought, and after a HDD format I re-downloaded it and by default got the CoH screen everytime I log in now. I don't know why but it drives me crazy, and as soon as I have the time to, I'll be reinstalling it just to see recluse and the crew and the red screen and the evil music.
Paragon Wiki is your friend, and your answer is here.
  20. This is the build I'm trying out, I still need to get the Membranes and the last of the Purples. OwtS caps HP if you have the accolades. I threw the Kismit in just because I had it and I hate missing, its really only useful if I'm exempted down enough to lose the Accuracy bonuses.

On this mission I ran into not just my first Cyst, but my second, third, forth, and dare I say it, my FIFTH Cyst!

No one believed the person scouting in front of the team when he said he found a forth Cyst, we all thought he was joking and didn't believe him until we targeted through him and saw it for ourselves. You can imagine our reactions when our scout found the fifth Cyst (we didn't believe him then either). The team decided to disband after we realized we still had to defeat 2 more Cysts to free the last few hostages.
  22. Somebody asked a similar question about 6 months ago. Take a look.
  23. For an FX 5500 you need to go way back to this driver according to NVidia.

If the 175.19s don't work you may want to go back a little further.
XP is up to SP3 now so you might want to do some Windows Updating.
  24. Could be a heat problem, try monitoring your temps. If you don't have any temp monitoring software try Speed Fan.

You might want to post a CoH Helper report and a Hijack This log. That gives us a good snapshot of how your machine is set up and running.
