Henchmen disappear in buildings (and defy the laws of physics to do so)

You can Unsummon your henchmen to resummon them with out them dieing. Right click at the top under the All Pets and select Unsummon it should look like a big X.
You can also try useing the GO-TO command. The thing with pets is that there not very smart it helps to "Spam" the same command over and over again till they do what you want them to.

It is annoying, I use the command /release_pets to dismiss all my pets and then resummon them. It takes a little time, an annoying amount of time, but at least then I have my pets so I can finish the mission.

As others have said, you'll have to dismiss your pets before you can resummon, otherwise the resummon command will fail. I can usually get them all back though by going back down the elevator, waiting a sec, then back up again.
Yes, it is very annoying. It's especially so when you go into the bank on a mayhem, and find yourself facing a giant longbow ambush all on your lonesome. 
Now, I just wait outside the bank for the ambush.
I really hope they fix it soon.
Why is it every time I use the elevator in building missions to get to the next floor all my henchmen run through the walls never to return? I even try summoning new ones but nothing happens, usually forcing me to try to run the rest of the mission without any henchmen at all (which is about as fun as a root canal). Do I get to look forward to this every time I get a mission in a building? or is there a patch on the way to fix this?
