Macro power icons

Ok I want to start by saying that this might have come up before but I didn't find anything on the forums. If I missed it I'm terrible sorry for the inconvenience.

My questions is; can I make custom macros and put them in powerslots as icons which I can click on? Like in WoW I mean. Would be nifty

Thanks!

Yes, you can create macros in your bar to click on, but as far as I know you can't assign an icon, just some text that displays on the button.

Probably the best place to get started is the ParagonWiki, check the section on Macros for instructions on how to create one.

Just a note, I don't know anything about WoW macros, but here they are fairly restricted in that you can't fire a sequence of powers with just one macro, but you can do a load of useful things with them.

Just something to be aware of, if your macro has too many characters in it, it will be truncated. If its long, but not so long it gets truncated, it might still get truncated upon zoning.

Use /player_note_local "your character's name" and write the command that's in your long macros there. (You only need the "s around your character's name if its more than one word.) After zoning check your macros (if you are having the truncate problem), if the macros broke just bring up your player_note_local and copy paste the command back into the macros.

I have this problem with my warshade, I have to do this very rarely. I can sometimes play for hours without this problem surfacing, but when it occasionally happens you want to be prepared.

I don't know if you can still do this, but you used to be able to hit RV and steal the macro command buttons from the zone mechs, then edit them to refer to your own powers, text, commands, etc.

Not very artistic, but better than a grey button of blah.

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

Actually in the case of Kheldians the problem seems to be related to the order of the commands in the macro. Next time it truncates see what the last remaining command is and when you re-enter it rearrange them so that that command is at the end. One of the commands used (I think it's the tray switch one) causes a bug that truncates the macro, re-ordering the commands fixes it.

I did that and it still happens occasionally. I know I could fix the problem using bind_load_file instead of macros and someday I might actually do it, but for now I'm comfortable with the occasional kludge fix I do.

You can also try this guide, which uses the arena icons. I can't personally vouch for it, but I'm told by others it works.

Yes. You can also use a Gladiator match in the Arena, which is accessible earlier than RV. While it's possible to get a gladiator at level 1 (for example, the first and second anniversary badges together give you a single gladiator), you're more likely to get it at level 10 (everybody gets a gladiator when they train to level 10).

The "Architect Comlink" accolade is also a macro you can edit, so you can use that icon if you have the Mission Engineer badge.
