Cannot log into NCsoft account

I have been trying since Tuesday of last week (February 2, 2010) to access my account at NCsoft with no success. It won't recognize my username and password. I have attempted to have my password sent to me but I have not yet received any email from NCsoft with this info.

I know that the password and username I'm using is correct, because I've had to enter it here, on the forums, to log in. I know that they are the same. I've obviously successfully logged in here. Has the NCsoft account page been down all this time?

I have checked my email regularly since this issue started. I have made sure that the email address I'm using is the right one. I have checked my "junk" folder. The email I use for notifications from the forums is the same I use for email from NCsoft. I have received email from NCsoft before, but none since I've tried to log in.

Nope, I can only afford one "for pay" MMORPG. CoH is my choice.

Near the bottom is the info on how to call them. It is a toll number.

If you have a microphone and speakers, you can sign up for a free Skype account. You can call toll-free numbers for free there, too. There's also Google Voice if you have an invite there.

I have no phone, nor speakers, nor microphone for my computer. There is little reason to have these things if you can't make use of them.

Does anyone have any help on the original problem? Has their log in or customer service been down? Why am I not receiving any email from them?

Anyone?

You should try contacting NCSoft support via the web:

Also, make sure you've tried to logon with caps locks and num locks off. Passwords are case sensitive.

Finally, there is a posibility you've been hacked. There isn't, at this moment, any issue with the account services for other players, so this is an issue with just you.

If you suspect that you've been hacked, I would strongly urge you to scan/clean/inspect your computer prior to typing in any passwords. There could be a keylogger on your system.

Ok, once more, I have contacted them. I have confirmed that they received my email with a read receipt. I have not received any response from them at all. I seems that they are CHOOSING to not answer me at this point.

I have contacted some of my friends to see if they can log into their NCsoft account. THEY ARE ALL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM! Their "log in" to their NCsoft account will not work, even though their "log in" here, WHICH IS THE SAME LOG IN AND PASSWORD isn't working. (obviously they each have a different log in and password from me, and each other.) None of them can get a response from NCsoft either. Those who can use a phone have tried, AND HAVE BEEN HUNG UP ON, by customer service, when this issue is brought up.

I'm going to have to give up and contact my credit card company and force a chargeback since I am beginning to doubt that NCsoft has any interest in keeping me as a customer.

I'm done here.

your forum account is not the same as your master account with NC. the forum account is actually your game account info. you most likely are using the incorrect username and password. i have had no problem getting into my master account and have not had anyone from the telephone support hang up on me. the only way that happens is if they are acting like complete ********* on the phone.

you will not be able to get any sort of refund. if you don't believe me, go and read the eula. that is that thing you agree to everytime you start up the game.

edit: there is a chance that you are trying to log in on the wrong version, NA or EU, that is causing the problem.

I can confirm Sharker Quint.
I have just successfully logged into my NCSoft Master Account.

You should also be able to log into the support area (via NCSoft Supportpage), and update your issue from there.
But again, be aware, that the user-name and password are independent from the other ID's and passwords.

I, too, can confirm successful NCSoft Master Account login.

I will also reiterate - your CoH game account username and password are not necessarily the same as your NCSoft Master Account username and password (unless you consciously chose to do it that way, which is inadvisable).

Important point - do not, under any circumstance, give your password to anyone, not even NCSoft employees. They don't need it for any reason.

The best suggestion I can make is as follows:

1) Find the email you got from NCSoft that confirmed the creation of your NCSoft Master Account (NOT your CoH game account) and double-check the details contained within.

2) Check that NCSoft mails aren't being snagged by a spam filter on your machine.

3) PM Avatea, Niviene or theOcho regarding your experience with customer services, and request - politely - assistance. Ask if it is possible for the details to be PM'd to you here on the forums rather than by email.

with the hissy fit that the OP has thrown in this thread i think it is safe to say that he is indeed in need of a break from the game. that or he has been done with the game and is just trying to spread nasty rumors on the forums for the new peeps to read.

Wait don't leave!

I've been with CoH since beta, my forum user/pass is identical to "one" of my coh game accounts (the one that was invited to beta test).

I downloaded the test game client (roughly 48 hours)... went to login with the user/pass I have used for 6 years, and.... error.

I am 100% experiencing the exact same problem as you.

when i switch over and login to the regular live non-test account, all is well.

restarted computer, attempted login repeatedly, somewhere around the 8th or 9th time it suddenly worked.

meh.

I think that your problem was that it takes time for the Test account to be activated.
The OPs unless I've misread it completely (always possible) is that he can't get into his master account

It is entirely possible that somebody has hacked your account, changed the password and also the email in the support system, so the return emails are not going to you.

When emailing support, specify what your email should be, and if it isn't, that you think your account has been hacked.

Also ask them to verify that your email WAS the one you're using now (not sure if they can check this or not).

It's also possible that the hijacker has done something to get the account banned, which might explain the lack of response.

Ah well. If he does a chargeback like he threatened to then the account and any other accounts associated with that credit card will be perma banned so hacked or not the account won't be doing any further damage.
