  1. Kinetic Conduit: On a brute chaining 1.33 second attacks (1.581 Arcanatime) you would get ~3390HP/min, a constant 25% recharge buff and 37.5% runspeed from it for no endurance or animation time. Meanwhile Healing Flames gives ~3450HP/min and Quickness gives 20% recharge/35% runspeed. It sounds overpowered because it is.

You've also taken an endurance management power that is currently only slottable for recharge and endurance, renamed it and made it an auto power with no direct impact on endurance; congratulations, you've managed to break the cottage rule further than the example it was named after.

And considering I've yet to hit the inf cap before spending some of it, no I'm not with you.
  4. Fortunatas are Mind/Psi Dominators that traded in Domination for softcapped defenses. (Unfortunately they don't get Drain Psyche.)

  6. So you can use the power you aren't supposed to have but can't use the two you should have access to?
  7. Not every Dom is perma, it covers gaps. Also can be useful for mez protection if you need to rebuild domination at some point.

Better possibilities in most cases true, but it's not a complete waste of space.

I think the damage is in Tenebrous Tentacles, not the debuff aura. Fluffy tends to fire off TT then close to melee while the DoT ticks.
  10. Illusion on Controllers doesn't set up or benefit from containment very well; at least both it and Domination work best with high levels of recharge. If it did ever get proliferated intact you would probably see a good number of Ill/Psi/Ice Doms for the combination of PA with Drain Psyche's -regen and Sleet's -res.
  11. 1) Brute - SS/Elec
    2) Brute - SS/Dark
    3) Brute - SS/Fire
    4) Corruptor - Sonic/Kin
    5) Corruptor - Fire/Thermal
    6) Corruptor - Fire/Cold
    7) Arachnos Soldier - Huntsman
    8) Defender - Cold/Sonic

Two sets of Cold shields and double Manoeuvres for the Huntsman : 75.6% defence (50%+ for Colds themselves.)

Armour sets stacked with thermal shields provide ~75% resistance to S/L.

Two /Colds should be able to keep Frostwork on all three brutes.

Two sets of Heat Loss gives permanent +recovery to eliminate endurance problems, spot 'healing' of end bar from /Kin transference.

AoE resistance debuffs vary between -80% for normal spawns with two of Sleet/Heat Loss and Venom Grenade up to -162.5% for 2x Sleet, 2x Heat Loss, Venom Grenade, Melt Armour. For single target this goes up to ~252.5 from Surveillance and Sonic blast debuffs (Howl probably wouldn't hit the entire spawn so was left out of AoE numbers.)

I don't think the healing nictus AV has any resistance to -heal strength, so two lots of Benumb ought to do -110% strength and essentially turn it off. Cycle Increase Density and Thaw to overcome the nictus death stuns.

Since none of the Corruptors (or Defender) are dependant on multiple toggles and Heat Loss can overcome the -recov section of a nuke end crash there is little reason for Dreadful Wail and Inferno not to get used whenever up.

Honestly though I think the entire team would either mapserver or quit due to the server lag from using twin Sleet and Rain of Fire on herds of romans.

Well that's the most ridiculous thing I've heard today, and I spent half of it dealing with government bureaucracy. A customer does not have a duty to test the product they are buying. If you rent a car and at the 30k service the garage breaks something they don't tell you that you should have turned up to make sure they did their job properly.

Considering the one power change managed to break both that power in the dominator pool it was originally in and most of the controller pool the change was intended to be to, I can't understand how this got past the most basic of internal testing.

Therefore, even with no differences whatsoever, I still assert that the possibility of factually infinite universes exist.
Lets take the instance of exact copies of the same universe with no differences. In each reality Scientist A(n) connects his dimensional portal to universe n+1 in that series and steps through, finding himself in a different location in what is to all detectable purposes the same universe as he just left. In an infinite number of cases we now have Scientist A(n) in the place of identical Scientist A(n+1) with an infinite number of possible reactions, some sub-infinity of which will involve returning to universe n, in order for a column of identical universes to be maintained some subclass containing all Scientists A(n-1) must simultaneously leave universe n, with a probability of 1 in infinity^n.

A multiverse with identical universes is at least an order of infinity larger than one that does not for each of the infinite copies available. Since the human brain can't really cope with the idea of one infinity, multiplying infinity by infinity to the power infinity is getting deep into the realms of 'ouch my head'.
  14. If you look at Upsilon Beta 9-6 you can't see any reason why Upsilon Alpha 9-6, Upsilon Beta 8-6 or Upsilon Beta 9-7 can't exist. It's only once you give it a name and start calling it "Praetoria" that the possibility of it being completely unique even occurs.

Brutes are the perfect companion for any tank. They compliment tanks, not replace.

Brutes don't have that built in taunt in every attack like tanks do. <keyword deadblaster>

I generally avoid teams that don't get that, I don't like watching blasters die QQ
Brutes do have built in taunt on every attack, it's just only the target hit not a small AoE. Use AoE attacks and you're taunting everything you hit. The bit Brutes naturally fall down on is innate survivability from the lower modifiers; and leaking aggro when dead isn't a problem limited to Brutes.

Brutes can replace tanks, but they either need to have chosen sets/powers toward that end or have more support.

SS/Shield runs on a natural cushion of at least 120% damage bonus before you even start building Fury, greatly mitigating the annoyance factor. A proper Brute, being a Villain, also has Frenzy for those times when getting mad slowly isn't acceptable.

Notable exception being Rikti, remember to stock up on BFs before an LGTF.

Inertial Reduction does have some use outside main travel power - providing vertical movement on Mo runs to all the people that haven't worked out that "no temps" includes their jetpacks.

For ranged defense builds it is very much worth trying to fit the fighting pool in. 3 slot Kick with Explosive Strike; Steadfast unique in Tough; 6 slot Red Fortunes in Weave. Total of 14% ranged defence and 5% recharge.

You get more mileage out of 2 slotting BotZ in Hover/Combat Jumping than the second and third LotGs; this also lets you slip a -KB IO in. You can also put a couple in Speed Boost - making you popular with compulsive Granites and skiers.

Minor correction - I believe it relies on how many attacks you hit enemies with; you can't use an AoE in a spawn and saturate it. If you've ever played Claws it's easy to think of PS as turning every attack into a mini Follow Up for 20s.

KM like most of the recent introductions is a terribly pretty set. In my opinion it suffers from being over-animated; powers like Concentrated Strike look wonderful in a demonstration video but when you're using them a lot they get very obviously repetitive in a way the simpler punches and slashes of other sets avoids. While it is worth trying for yourself a scrapper is the best place to do so, having both PS and the critical-recharge mechanic in CS.
  19. Sounds like you were primarily a hero so take advantage of GR and try out the other side of the AT list.

If you want something a little different but still familiar then try a brute; hard to go wrong as far as sets go on them. Plant/* Dominators are always fun. Fire/Dark Corruptors are nice especially once you get fearsome stare slotted. MMs have some very effective combos, but lately even the protector bot AI seems to have gone all This! Is!Sparta! it's probably not going to qualify as fun.

You may also want to have another look at your existing characters if your signature is accurate still. Fiery Aura and Martial Arts both got fairly significant buffs in the last issue.

  21. Use Herostats with the 'in game' window, you get a list of buffs you've cast grouped by target and with the time remaining on them.

Gloom for one target, Dark Obliteration for several targets. If there are more than you can reliably hit with one use of Dark Oblit. then you'd probably be having more fun over there anyway.

Actually it does both. In normal lightning negative ionisation in a cloud starts tracking groundward and induces a positive ionisation in the ground below that tracks upward. When the two tracks meet the plasma trails act like a wire, charge flows along it superheating the surrounding air and it explodes; big flash, loud bang, dogs run for the bedroom.

In most cases the downward trail is longer than the upward one and the strike appears to go from cloud to ground. If there is a particularly tall object for the upward trails to lead from then the upward path can be longer than the down stroke and the lightning appears to go ground to cloud.

I agree; before it was impossible for forms to gain the advantage of fitness so many Kheldians voluntarily didn't take them. Now all Kheldians will gain fitness powers that work in all forms. The poor normal Humans without a Kheldian symbiote are stuck with gaining what most of them have always had and struggling with the new concept of slot deprivation. Buff the Humans!

I would have to agree that FF is the support set that least benefits from stacking though - it's just the price you pay for being that good at your main job. 1 FF can softcap a grouped team; 2 FFs can softcap most people on any team; at 3 you would probably be better with a wider variety of support sets.
