  1. I don't really like the idea of punishing a team for being skilled. So I am not in favor of penalising those who do well.

  3. Well, as someone who is subscribed to both games, and beta tested CO, have had contact with its Dev's and has actually made suggestions that have made it into the game, I find I cannot help but feel infuriated with the bait and switch at release.

The game was a lot of fun, I felt like hero in it.

Now.. its a shallow shell of its former self that is no longer fun.

Frankly, those of us who have shelled out a LOT of money in the current economy for the game and one of the subscription plans have a right to vent our frustrations.

This is real money, that some of us have been saving up for a long time. We paid it out and got the product we paid for changed to something we did not want.
  4. I've always been against introduction missions.

IMO level by level introductions and guides etc should be moved to those old unused data terminals.

I call the biggest load of BS I have ever heard from a gaming company.

    So sadly true..

Seems that the first thing they did on patch day was to buff the enemies, because the game had been deemed "too easy".

I wrote off Champions as "not for me".
Not only that, but they also nerfed the players powers, by up to 55% from what I hear. They essentially dropped a bombshell on their own games launch. Right when everyone was forming their opinions of the game.

I smell Ropers hand, personally. I can't see the Dev's I closed beta'd with and chatted up a storm in the chatrooms as having done this alone.

I heard that he used the analogy 'when you want to turn a ship, you just swing the wheel and stop it, then say 'thats too far, lets correct the course slowly, you dont just slowly turn'. I call BS on that. It was launch, and people are forming their opinions of your product.

Out of all times, that is the time you turn slowly if you need to.

And personally, near everyone was enjoying the game as it was, I question the need for large turns.
  7. Take a good look at their forums at the moment, then decide.
  8. Likely my Rad/ defenders power to blue (I pray that's possible)

Considering the range of technology in comic books, its very easy to say you have some kind of gravity anchor/antigrav device that is fired from the launcher or something. My character has been RPing this with with superjump for years.
  10. I slotted a single -KB IO on my fire brute, and I never really noticed any since.

Occasionally you'll come across an AV that'll manage a knockdown on you, but its so seldom the slots are better served elsewhere.
  11. To be honest, after closed beta'ing CO for so many months, i'm unsure about it.

I've pre-ordered and boguht a 6 months subscription.. the lifetime sub is far too much money for me to lay down all at once in the current economy.

I think a huge part of my drifting fro it is that they killed our closed beta community all at once, and they also nuked the beta site.. leaving us with the main forums full of whiney concluson jumping immature posters. I just can't seem to find anyone I know there.. those i'm in contact with just seem to be doing the same as me: staying away from the open community.

Six months seems like a decent enough time for the game to get to grips with itself. After that, I'll have to see. The CO head start begins soon, but to be honest, I have no will to log in to it. Half of it is my attachment to my characters here and the other half is the complete lack of community in CO. They seem to have missed the ball for me, I play the game to roleplay, to interact with the community and immerse myself, but CO just lacks immersion.

Snipes fit a rifle based set way too thematically to pass up.

    Blaster Balance

I just want blasters secondary sets to be more worthwhile. I find half or more of most secondary sets are usually completely skippable.
  15. I would love for it to have self knockback!

Make it mag 20 or something, to get past -kb and acro for good measure.

... And make it enhanceable knockback just for the laughs.

I would totally roll my MM with the set as an alternative 'spec'. I was sad to drop the attacks with her since they were pointless past level 5.
  16. I've never bothered with rep metres, it always felt like an immature addition to a forum, so I turn it off.
  17. I would have killed for this option back in the day.

I hated hated hated outleveling the badge missions on villain side for the 1-9 contacts!

    Hahaha, sigged! Thats hilarious.

    On to the thread:

I am half inclined to agree, and half inclined to disagree.

It might be bias that I want EA to be given a touch better numbers on its heal, and maybe 1.5% better defense.

However in my experience, my elec/EA stalker is strong. Not godly strong.. but its well servicable. I can only imagine a brute would do better.

I have before now out-survive some strong armored brutes, and in fact have tanked huge groups when the stone brute went down before now, to give the entire rest of the team chance to get back on their feet and come back.

Defense sets are well.. forgive the pun: hit-and-miss. Sometimes you'll do godly, and sometimes the enemies will just keep rolling in that 5%.
  19. I would like to see 'fun' temp powers sold for inf.

Like.. I remember in EQ2 they had vet fireworks. I would love to see fun firework powers that could be bought for inf. They wouldn't exactly do anything in combat, but pretty lightshows.. like, 1000 inf for a small basic firework, 2500 for a medium 10,000 for a large fancy one.. you could buy them and they would stack.

I dont know about anyone else, but I would probably spend hundreds of k on these things, and just fire them off i AP for fun..
  20. I would play it!

This is something I have been wanting -forever-.

    So /sign

The recipe's for IO sets are of specific level ranges.

I personally roll on 30-34, but its all preference.

With my example of 30-34, it includes recipes from the 10-30 and the 30-50 set ranges, and both set ranges have some very nice money earners such as -KB recipes in the 10-30 range and other nice things in the 30-50 range.

35-39 will include higher end recipes, and will likely be slanting the roll chance towards one of these recipes, for example LotG
