I believe, when power customisation was released, that dev comment was that the powers call a specific model, the same as Granite does. This uses different Tech to model customisation and power customisation.

Quote:Did I misunderstand and the Beta server isn't accessible yet? Because I tried to access it, and it says I do not have permission. The server was Beta 1 or something like that. Am I just too impatient or is something going wrong?
Too impatient. About another 3 hours -
I like the idea although I wouldn't get rid of training enhancement as they let you over slot to +2. Otherwise I quite like the idea.

Is it possible he was shopped out to reinforce the message of the email? IE, they were missing you?
And the red beside the logo (manti/synapse's 'foot') is clearly the bottom of states' cape.
Weirdly enough, on looking closer, only the top of the quiver is there. There is clearly some of citidal's arm between the quiver and States' bicep on the left hand side. -
Quote:Are you posting about Defender or Blaster? Not that it really matters this thread is as pointless as every other 'This AT is useless' thread. With the next power proliferation, Corrupters will end up with exactly he same powers as Defenders, including the longed for Psychic Blast.
Therefore, the only difference i see between them now is that one starts critting on a low target - Scourge - the other one starts getting an end discount and a 30prct dmg buff if he's in team, and someone in his team is taking damage.
Tbh i'd go for scourge any day on a Psy/Pain or Psy/Rad corr.
What do you guys think? Am i missing something or are they reducing blaster to the 2nd most useless AT after PBs? -
Quote:I think what Vanden means is your first suggestion has been done already, so your second suggestion should have been your first one. Null doesn't fix that problem.A good start but my suggestion would be a bit more global. Also, dont see anything about just not showing the graphical portion while accepting the actual buff.
As for totally removing buffs, the devs have said in the past (castle I belive, but I can't back that up) that there is no engine difference between a buff and a debuff except for the value of the number. So a Buff has a positive number and a debuff has a negative number. To allow you to remove buffs they'd have to allow you to remove debuffs... not a great idea. -
Quote:Don't forget you're comparing one attack. To make it truely accurate you need to look at a chain for each, including the use of the debuffs and bufffs, which remove attacks. To top that off, a lot of the time, the Corruptor debuffs are going to be wasted. How many times is a single spawn going to get the full 90 seconds of debuff from Heat Loss? Most spawns will be dead long before that, which tilts the balance even more in favor of the Blaster, who's buffs can be used more strategically. Yes, the Corruptor's debuffs can help everyone on the team, but the Blaster does more damage, hands down.

I couldn't resolve denying and decrying the use of all technological devices when I, myself, am a character in a computer game and therefor owe my very existence to technology... luckily Friar Dave counselled me... it's amazing how effectively you can counsel someone with a shillelagh."
My favourite I think. Good work as usual Steelclaw -
Quote:If that person they buff is a blaster then they are doing shedloads more damage. And are you pulling these numbers out of your head?Doesnt really work like that
Made up numbers here, but if a corruptor does 90% of blaster damage but makes even 1 other person 10% better, then they are doing as much damage.
Im not saying blasters dont do the most damage, im saying they dont do enough for doing nothing else.
This doesnt even account for the fact that blasters spend more time faceplanted than any other AT by far.
Also, the only reason I die on my blaster is the same as the reason I die on all my toons, I play reckless. My blaster dies only marginally more than my tank, and it's granite. -
Quote:So which below stack like that? How many Vanguard Merits to the Reward merit? Or AE tickets to the Astral merit?Or you'll need 20 dollars, 2 quaters, 4 dimes, 1 nickle, and 4 pennies.
Cos 4 quarters is a dollar and 10 dimes is also a dollar. That is one currency with different denominations. Not seperate currencies that we have in game
Quote:It's that we have way more than we realistically need.
Inf
Prestige
Reward Merits
Vanguard Merits
AE Tickets
Alignment Merits
Astral Merits
Empyrean Merits
Quote:You seem to be under the impression that prestige belongs to characters. Unforunately it doesn't. Prestige belongs solely to the SG and players can't take it with them when they leave. You can't get a refund.
Oh and no you can't get it refunded as influence. That would be a horrible exploit to the game where people would use powerleveling to farm SG membership for the inf refund when the character quit. -
Quote:EG I will use Propel since it seems to be a common one that comes up with this. Have Propel old school and Propel new school to pick from at the appropriate level. This way both sides are happy. Decreased cast time for maybe less damage compared to maybe upping the damage on the original maybe for the amount of cast time it has currently.
Not only does it quell this Cottage rule debate but it also introduces new powers to older sets and older builds. It spices up everything for older and newer players.
That change could be done within the confines of the cottage rule... -
Quote:1. A power will not lose a primary function without a critical balance reason for that change that can only be solved by eliminating that feature.
2. A power will not alter its gameplay mechanics without a significant balance requirement that can only be solved by altering its mechanics. For the most part, this refers to the power being a click, toggle, passive, or location targeted power.
3. A power will not change its availability within a powerset without a significant balance requirement that can only be solved by such a change in powerset structure. In other words, powers won't change tier.
I should point out I posted those rules above, with more or less the same wording, with permission from Castle, the same developer that made the "cottage rule" post itself.
Quote:My suggestion to move Stalker's AS down automatically violate these "rules". This means that if the Devs have accepted these as rules then they can automatically dismiss my suggestion without giving it real thought, and to be frank it's human nature to do exactly that, if you have something to point at that will take the responsibility for doing the job away from you. This is especially true when the problem is not personally important to you, and you feel that you have more important things to do.
The devs can't take every suggestion posted here and give it serious thought. God, read through the suggestions forum and tell me if you seriously think they should? -
Quote:Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!(just ask a Stone tank what they'd think if the devs just did a universal removal of the speed buff from Speed Boost.)
OP, I'm not so much against your request as I am bemused at the rational behind it. As Bill says Null has nothing to do with the Cottage Rule. -
Quote:Hehe, let me guess: Top 100 SG? Maybe former number one behind the 88's now? Bitter much?IMO they should have never let prestige be purchased in the first place. If anything the ratio needs to be made more steep to discourage marketeers from buying their SG to the top. Right now its 500:1 need to make it 50,000:1 which would be 100,000,000 for 2000 at the SG recruiter

Yeah, interesting that I live in London nothing has been said about it over here. Also, I'm just trying to remember the weather here on Friday, and I think it was cloudy and raining. I call shenanigans

Your friend was a blaster, so should have been able to take out the portals one at a time from good range. As he's doing this the spawn from that portal may rush him, so you should be able to pick them up. Don't rush in, wait for them to come to you. I did this with a blaster and a defender which very little hassle.

Very cool, however, all I saw was a guy walking around in a realistic LOOKING suit. Question is.. was it weaponised?

Quote:The issue raised previously (usually attributed to BaB) is that to do a proper 2 handed power set would require an entire new set of stances on top of the animations for the power sets. This includes stances for flights, ninja/beast run, etc. In otherwords bucketloads of work. Worth it...? Maybe, although i would say we'd have to have 3 or 4 new sets to make it worth it.I haven't seen a single scythe nor can I remember seeing a character do battle with a spear, perhaps I'm missing something?
I'd really like to know, especially if it's available to players, since I have some character concepts that revolves around those type of weapons (spears, scythes, etc.)
Also, the main thing that's keeping me from playing a Stone Armor character is the granite armor, which does not fit my concept, at all. So I'm all for more customization. -

As your account details aren't stored on your computer and the steampunk items are on everyones computer regardless of whether they have paid for the pack or not I doubt removing a folder will cause it to not show up.
I would check your account page and see if the codes have been applied (you can't tell what they are for, but they have a date on them so see if there is a code from yesterday) and raise a ticket if not, or if the bits still aren't showing up. -
Bah, the US news presenter was an idiot to mock him. He demonstrated a working jet pack prototype. It was only going to get better, and now he looks like a fool. Good work Glenn!
Gotta love Kiwi ingenuity.
