Pet Update

So, this has pretty much been asked for since Mastermind came out, but I don't remember ever seeing an official dev response. When are Masterminds going to be able to customise their pets? The tech for editing standard characters already exists in Architect, so it isn't a tech problem. Although that is mostly recolouring, it would be a step in the right direction, which is all I'm asking for at the moment. Still, one would hope after all this time, it was at least on the agenda.

Bad Voodoo by @Beyond Reach. Arc ID #373659. Level 20-24. Mr. Bocor has fallen victim to a group of hooded vigilantes who have been plaguing Port Oakes, interfering with illegal operations and pacifying villain's powers. He demands that revenge is taken on these miscreants and his powers are returned! You look like just the villain for the job. Challenging.

I believe, when power customisation was released, that dev comment was that the powers call a specific model, the same as Granite does. This uses different Tech to model customisation and power customisation.

I imagine this is "still on the agenda" the same way power pool customizations are. But remember it took them literally years to give us the level of power customization we have now. Basically I've given up holding my breath for things like this. If it happens it'll be a welcome addition to the game. But I no longer expect it or remain upset by the lack of it at this point. *shrugs*

While a customizing option would be nice, I'm still waiting for the AI/UI fix. I'm really, really tired of mashing the "Go To" button to keep the pets from bum rushing an AV.

Agreed. Let's work on the part that makes MM pets mechanically useless against anything with a significant PBAoE attack before we put energy into eye candy.

Frankly, I'd just like the option to have the appearance lock into the pet once I've named him. I don't know if it affects anyone besides Thugs, but it's very disconcerting when Billy Blaze goes from being a redhead to a black guy when I zone :P

Also, why can't controllers/doms at least NAME our pets? I understand we can't control them, but can we at least give them names please?

Something as simple as a "GET OUT OF THE FIRE" AI routine would work wonders.

Power mechanics and aesthetics are not handled by the same devs.

They already have one. The problem is that it tends to work too well, potentially sending them farther away than necessary. And I think it may still apply to your own Oil Slick Arrow as well.

Never surrender! Never give up!
Help keep Paragon City alive with the unofficial City of Heroes Tabletop Role Playing Game!

Yes, it does. >:| I can't tell you how much fun it is on my Plant/TA to have my fly trap suddenly run screaming across the map to agg three more spawn.

Really? Weird. Maybe it's just on me, but in beta my pets adamantly refuse to remove themselves from burning floors for some reason. 'Course it is early on and in Paragon, so maybe certain low level things don't trigger it? They SHOULD though, firebombs from I think it was the skulls were burning them down FAST.

skulls dont use firebombs your prolly thinking of demolitionists in the scrapyarders (very very few enemies use burn patches)

I am talking Beta here, not live. I'll have to go back through the levels again ((Had to do that anyway, they wiped characters)) but I am pretty sure it was them. Either way, my little fellas were NOT moving out of the fire. I'll get back to you on who was doing the burning.

Hellion lieutenants from lv 15+ (I think they go up to lv 20 now? Not sure) now have, joy of joys, Molotov Cocktail. (in Beta - I was doing the final Twinshot training arc)

I can sense everyone's so happy about that.

You thought Blast Masters were annoying? Now your favourite cannon fodder will demolish your pets in seconds!

THANK YOU ARCTIC. I knew it was a Skulls, and that it was after level ten, but that was it. And they, you know, wiped everything out the other day. But my minions were NOT running out of that fire.

You do realize Hellions aren't Skulls, right?

Gang members are gang members. *Shrugs*

Let me clarify that. No, I didn't remember for sure that it was the skulls, I just remembered it being one of the gangs.

No, but the resources all come from the same financial pool. As long as the system is mechanically unsound, there's no reason for spending said resources on anything else.

It's like adding more floors and new furniture to a house with a bad foundation: it's only a matter of time till the whole thing comes crashing down - and the more stuff you stack on top, the bigger the mess will be when the inevitable happens.
