Quote:So drop hover and fly. I don't know if it's a concept thing or not, so don't betray concept to pick up teleport. I just know that hover and trapping don't go together all that well. It works as long as you stay close to the ground, but I found it far to easy to be off the gound and unable to lay traps while hovering.I have no clue what I want from patron powers. Right now, I have hover and fly but no teleport stuff. Taking Team Teleport would eat three power picks, and that's a lot, but... Being able to get the bots into a spawn without spreading out away from FFG would be SO handy. But I love my leadership pool.
As far as A/PPPs: May I suggest Chill Mastery? It puts you at the S/L softcap on its own, and gives you a +max HP power, which, on an MM, is absurd. Hibernate is something I passed on. Ice blast is a good spot for a hold proc, or you could take the AoE sleep to slot the heal proc. -
Doesn't sound like there were any other targets in the zone. Pretty hard to switch targets when there isn't another option available.
-
Mag 2 is enough that a single boss hold will not work against you.

Quote:You've never been on one of my TFs, so you wouldn't know, but I am the opposite of a control freak. I have rules, and I expect them to be strictly followed.I guess the fact that you lead every TF or team you're on speaks to something of this control freak nature.
Rule 2: At all times you must be having fun.
Rule 3: If you think you can handle it, you're free to go for it.
Rule 5: Any build, any budget, no exclusions.
Whether the team goes in 8 directions or stays together the whole time, I won't care. If someone has a petless MM concept build, I won't care. If I'm running an MoITF and a level 36 regen scrapper wants on the team, I won't care. When someone on the team (myself included) causes someone else to not have fun, something needs to, and will change.
Learn to realize a joke when you see one. I said I'm not doing it to grief, and that I don't do it if I'm asked not to.
Don't be so judgmental either. -
Quote:If you're the tank, you should have gotten there before I did.I will say that since it does bypass the prompt, I guarantee if I'm lead and someone does pull that on me, you're kicked. I don't care if it's the middle of combat or a TF. Punt it is.
If you're a melee character, you shouldn't care that I made the distance between you and your enemy shorter.
If you're a squishy, I'm keeping you safe by keeping you in range of my leadership buffs and FFG.
If you're on my team, it's a TF and I'm the leader anyway.
Look, I don't grief people with it. I know we're all out to have fun. If you don't like the Team TP and tell me about it, I stop. Well, at the very least I'll make sure you're not around me when I do it. -
Quote:It doesn't stack at all. Even if two different players have it.Are you talking about the Achilles' Heel -resistance proc? If so, then I'm sorry to say that it doesn't stack, even if it procs from two separate powers.
So the part I bolded in the quote would not happen.
The effect of the proc is flagged with "does not stack from the same caster." But it's more complicated than that. When the proc fires, it grants an auto power to the target. Since the enemy gains an auto power, the target is essentially giving himself a -20% debuff. So if eight people on a team all have the proc and it fires from all eight people, it's still the enemy giving the power to himself, and it doesn't stack from the same caster, which is always the enemy that has the power. -
I'd say either a Bots/Traps (or bots/dark) MM, Ill/cold controller, or a mind/fire dominator.
I know of a Shield Defense scrapper that's solo'd an MoITF, so maybe that would work on the others too. -
I tell them "Goto" and they stay there for a good long while. Sure there is an occasional bot to move forward, but it's easy enough to tell him to come back.
I'm not saying it's not a buggy AI. I'm not saying it doesn't need fixed.
I'm saying it's a minor nuisance that's easily remedied, and not nearly crippling to the point that I have to shelve the character. -
I guess I just don't have the same problems you people have, and I can't imagine why that is. When I want my bots to stay at range, they do. When I'm having fun, I just team teleport around.
-
The best part is that it bypasses the teleport prompt, so it's great for encouraging hesitant tanks and teaching blasters not to fear being in melee range. It also keeps those silly squishies in range of my FFG where they are no longer squishy and mezzable. Occasionally, it serves as good evac tool for bad situations.
Indeed. I passed up Detonator to get Team Teleport. -
I think it's up to date. 5% for the first enemy, then 1% for each after. Although, it might be 5% + 1% for the first, then 1% after.
Redtomax only grabs the info from in game numbers, so I'm pretty sure it's right. Actually, though, the most reliable and easy to understand numbers will come from Mids. -
There's your problem. I use teamport to bring all of my pets into melee with me. It makes sure everyone stays in range of the FFG too. We're all at the softcap, I taunt, and they destroy.

I think he's asking for the base defense numbers of the power [Invincibility], not the powerset Invulnerability.
Best place to look is right here. -

*Disappointed that this was not really a choose your own adventure thread.*

Depends heavily on what "best" you mean.
Warshades are freaking awesome, unless you want to solo an AV.
I'd probably go with Bots/Traps, Bots/Dark, or ill/cold since the versatility is there to do all sorts of things. -
Quote:Just a random tangent thing: It's not a very good idea to use your real name as an online handle. I don't know if that is your real name, but if it is, I'd suggest changing it. I suppose Jones is a common enough name that you wouldn't have too much trouble remaining anonymous, though.I'm on Justice and my global is alyssajones (original, right? lol)
Maybe I'm just paranoid, but Kaison is a made up last name. -

Quote:...with a few exceptions. Most notably is that the tohit debuff can be resisted, and especially so by AVs.A ToHit debuff is exactly equivalent to the same amount of defense.
Quote:Ice Armor's damage debuff is approximately equivalent to resistance, but 14% isn't much.
35% defense and 10% tohit debuff is equivalent to the softcap, or 90% total mitigation.
70% resistance and 20% damage debuff is actually 0.70 * 0.20 = 0.14, or 86% total mitigation. -
I could make you one, but I charge inf per build.
Your best bet is to mock up your own build, post it in the blaster forum and ask for advice. That's usually free. -
Quote:There's no mention of this on the wiki, and it's not something I was aware of. I know LTs and bosses con higher, and have status protection, but I was not aware of any resistance they had.Don't forget that LTs and bosses also inherently resist the effect, which stacks in a multiplicative way with the effect of their being over your level.
I hate to ask it like "are you sure?" but ... do we have any proof that this is the case? -
Quote:Also, don't forget that each one gets around 8 ancillary/patron pools to choose from as well (with the exception of kheldians). For each AT, there are, what, 8-10 primary choices, 7-9 secondary choices, and 9 power pools. That's for each AT. Multiply that by 9 AT's + 4 Epic ATs. It boils down to the sheer volume of choices. It's unlikely you will repeatedly run a pick up team with the same combination of powers... even for "all x AT" teams.

I'm glad that's settled. But one question remains.
WHERE DID I GET THE 20 FROM!?!?!!? -
Defense above 45% doesn't do anything for you... until you run into defense debuffs or enemies with tohit buffs.
LTs, bosses, and higher level enemies get accuracy modifiers to make things easier to hit you. More defense doesn't help here, because the defense brings them to 5% chance to hit and then the accuracy modifiers kick in.
