I wish they would add more incarnate trials and most of them be short and quick like BAF and Lambda. Keyes is reasonable.
The Underground Trial would be fine to do alot, except that it takes three hours to complete, if you complete it all. Though that trial is meant to be challenging, and the warwalkers were meant to be hard to kill, most underground trials I have been on simply failed because that one warwalker that you need the lichen to kill can easily destroy 3 full groups of players by one shot killing most of them with it's lethal force power and take almost no damage at all thanks to it's insanely high regeneration power. I rarely get on leagues that even beat that thing in combat, even though I am lucky enough to have successfully completed that trial twice out of five attempts. Thats why Underground trials are rarely run at all.
I myself, stopped bothering to even participate in underground trials anymore unless its with my Supergroup Coalition because I can often get WAY better rewards doing 1 Baf and 1 Lamba in like 1/3 of the time it takes to make and organize a single underground trial. I am even more turned off of the Underground trials because the second time I did one, it took me two hours to even get that one Warwalker I mentioned and after it wiped out the whole league and we failed due not killing that thing in time, I wound up with like 10 Astral threads for my trouble. What a waste of time.
This is why the Underground Trial needs a change, majorly. -
1.) Ok, I am about to get another level 50 Brute and I want to unlock the Alpha Slot on that char. I already got another level 50 Brute that has all 5 incarnate slots open with abilities that are up to tier 4 and though I plan to start buying that armor that Astral Christy and Empyrean Mike sell in Ouroboros as well wanting a tier 4 Victoria MK VI with a battle orb to swap with my Storm Elementals as I please, I still have a ton of Astral Merits and can afford to spend 5 of those toward the Alpha Slot Voucher and send it to the brute that needs the Alpha Slot. Do I still have to run the Mender Ramiel Story Arc?
I am so confused it's not even funny.
2.) Speaking of pet swapping, I want the Storm Elementals for BAFs so they can get aggressive and shoot the escaping resistance fighters, I don't use pets on the other trials right now unless asked by my leaders to avoid costing the league any badges like on Keyes, where the pets get caught by positrons hold powers and cost the league some kind of badge they want. But I want the Tier 4 Victoria MK VI with a Battle Orb to help me kill Elite Bosses or to play with outside of Incarnate Trials because of it's buffs and the fact that Vicky hides and stays out of my way. Plus they cool. But I won't destroy any pets if I unslot and switch them, will I?
3.) On some IO enhancement sets, I notice they come with buffs that last for like 2 minutes, like the recovery on Miracle for example, Can those be slotted in auto powers and what happens they get slotted in an auto power? Does it just do a roll to see if it shoots off once every hour or something? I have seen a lot post with replies talking about this, but not seen anything specific on what happens when you do this. -
Thanks for the help/response.
I was having brain flatulence when I was slotting my attack powers. I put in recharges instead of endurance reductions in my claw powers because the Claw powers seemed to have a longer recharge than the Claw powers you get in the Claws powerset for brutes.
Anyways, I fixed it and it's working ALOT better anyways. I am not getting the endurance recovery my Claws/Willpower Brute gets or having the same endo stealing tricks my Elec/Elec Brute gets, but thats fine. I still get what I wanted. So it's good.
I forgot I was going to use all 6 luck of the Gambler enhancements in my mask presence power and was going to use red fortune set in my link minds power. Not to mention the obliteration set in my spin power. Combine those with mental training, I should have more than enough recharge for the claw powers. Meaning I just simply use enurance reductions in my attacks and my other toggles.
Oh well, not a total waste. Somebody suggested that I should also consider add a performance shifter proc into stamina. Something about it occasionally giving me a small amount of endurance. I may do that, too.
If they did nerf the recovery or you want it to give more. Please start a seperate petition and not start one here. Have a good night. -
Been playing for a while now, and on most toons, I don't have issues with recovery. Of course, that isn't saying much.
Until recently, I have mostly been playing Scrappers and Brutes and even then, my power choices were simply /willpower and /Electric Armor. So I basically didn't notice if it did get nerfed or not.
But I played a Super Strength/ Invulnerability Brute, got it in the mid thirties and deleted it because I couldn't stand that Rage Crash. So I didn't notice there, really. Had endurance issues in the low levels, but prior to deleting that character, has no endurance issues until Rage Crashed.
But I am doing a Night Widow, and I make sure I got sprint turned off only running the 3 leadership toggles that come with the secondary powerset and Indomitable Will and Mask Presence, and it's like after every battle with three even con minions. My endurance bar is on empty and my toggles are about to be shut off.
I even 3 slotted stamina and stuck three IO recovery's in it and I got 3 endurance discount IO's every toggle, but I am still having this problem which should not be happening at all.
You folks having endurance issues with your toons or notice a decrease in recovery that stamina gives out since going inherent? -
I love my night widow. I really do. She does almost everything I want her to do. I wanted her to at least be able to solo Borea's Rikti timed missions, the newspaper mayhem missions, and the rogue and villian tip missions and alignment missions at the 0/1 to 0/2 setting as well as have something to offer groups when grouping. I got no problems there.
My only problem is the Endurance recovery, it's like after every battle, even with sprint and my travel powers turned off, one battle with like 3 minions just eats my endurance up. I made sure I 3 slotted stamina and put in recovery IO's in that power, so I am good there. On my toggles, I got the endurance discount IO's slotted in each of those. I am suppose to be getting an endurance recovery increase because I am suppose to be getting a higher base recovery or something or something like that. But my endurance is still running out after every battle with 3 minions.
Is there a way to make this better? -
Not sure if you can or not, if so, I never figured it out. If they ever proliferate Spines to the Brutes, I would love to make a green skinned Longbow Warden Brute that uses Spines/Willpower for powersets. :'(
-
Thanks for the responses, I guess i'll save my money and stick with unenhanced level 50 IO's.
I don't know, I guess i'll just start a costume collection. Maybe buy some Windfalls, too. Those increase the chances of getting an incarnate shard from nil to just above nil! WAY better odds than me getting a date with Kari Byron on the Mythbusters!
Ok, I do got a Night Widow and I am making a Crab Spider and I wanna get to level 50, I guess i'll buy some XP boosters. :'( -
I am just curious this time. I made another post suggesting that we have a Psi Melee and a Psi Armor for our toons and though alot of you folks hated the idea of a Psi Armor, you really seemed to be ok with a Psi Melee bundled with Willpower and counter proposed alot of awesome concepts which made me HAD to post this:
I did read some requests lately for a new Epic Archetype. On one hand. I had the idea of doing a Longbow archetype, despite not suggesting it, because I'd rather see something else instead.
But I can't get over how cool it would be to see a Longbow Archetype. But I got to thinking more and I am now like "No it isn't". They should just make a Longbow Costume set and sell it on the market. Then you can make any archetype and have it be a Longbow Soldier!
What do you guys think, should we do a Longbow Archetype in the FAR, FAR future, or just simply wait and hope they sell a Longbow Costume set like they do with the Circle of Thorns or both? -
I can't help myself, I still use SO's until I hit level 47 and even then, most of the time, I just simply grab the salvage I need and buy the recipes and just make the plain old level 50 IO's and make due for most of the time.
Don't really fool alot with Frakenslotting and using IO enhancement sets and spending 8 billion infamy on a whole luck of the gambler IO set or what have you. Though, with the coming of Issue 21 and those enhancement boosters, I am really changing my tune and buying enhancment sets now. But I still ALOT of regular IO's which leads to my next question.
Since I like to exemplar/malfactor down alot, would I get more benefit if I buy the level 50 Regular IO's and put 5 enhancement boosters in each one or should I buy the level 30 IO's and put 5 enhancement boosters in each of those?
I tried reading the Paragon Wiki info on it and for most people, they do a great job, but I am simply not understanding which option is better. -
Quote:You got that right, I just dingeded to level 28 and took mind link already on my night widow and shot it off without putting enhancements in to look at the combat attributes and already I saw like a 42% defense to melee! Thats like 3% percent away from softcap for melee defense! If you can afford to spring for the LoTG +Recharges then you can easily perma Mind Link on a Widow without Hasten or any Purples. Then again, you can also softcap *without* Mind Link (Though you may have to make some slight compromises to do it).
Basically, Night Widows are very cheap and easy to softcap and/or perma Mind Link.
Well, softcap for the real world anyways, I think it would need another 17% of melee defense to get to the Incarnate trial softcap. Maruader, Siege, Nightstar, the avatar of Hamidon, and the Goliath Warwalkers, infested or not can kill the hardiest stone tankers just as easily as any Night Widow anyways. :'(
But I really should break down and spend my merits and buy a LOTG enhancement set anyways for that toon. -
Hey thanks, I just might read that guide.
The Red Fortune idea does sound good, though. -
Yeah, that actually sounds good.
I am thinking about buying the Red Fortune, the Karma, and maybe a Steadfast Protection (Provided they sell it, of course.) myself for my future Crab Spider and my newly inducted Night Widow.
This info might make it a good investment. -
We need a Psychic Melee and a Psychic armor powerset for all melees, or at least brutes.
I think that would be cool, not sure if its doable or not, but cool. I am guessing it's doable since I am guessing they gave psionic melee attacks to Dominators I am guessing mental manipulation will have a few psionic melee attacks and I know the burnouts for sure in First Ward got some awesome psionic based melee attacks.
As for the armor set, it would be cool to make it a mix of like Electric Armor, Ice Armor, and Fire Armor or something I guess. I think that PBAOE damage and confuse aura in teh controller epic set would be awesome on a brute.
Not really good with ideas, because every idea i had has been beaten by Positron and his staff bar none. They have ALWAYS come up with some miles better than anything I could suggest. But I figure if I were just post the idea of a Psionic Melee and Psychic Armor Set and throw a few of my lame ideas, then maybe that ocho guy who reads theses and moderates these forums would pitch the idea for me and they'd come up with something awesome!
Especially if I get alot of responses. -
I notice the shop is selling red fortune enhancement sets and there is a red fortune you buy from auction and/or buy with reward merits or villian merits.
But what is the difference?
Do the enhancements you buy from the paragon market come pre boosted or something? The description in the paragon market is very vague and gives almost no detail. -
Sorry, I could not resist, but I'll get to the question and the point.
I am currently playing a Night Widow and I am going to be looking to make her Mind Link perma or close to perma. But I read on the guide that in order for that to happen, I am suppose to 6 slot the power and do whats called "Frakenslotting" it by simply buying one of each Defense/Recharge enhancement or recipe or buying one of each Defense/Recharge/Endurance Reduction and simply adding them into Mind Link. I got two brutes that can farm so crafting is not a problem.
But the guide did not say specifically what recipe/enhancements to buy, you guys got any suggestions?
I am also going to use her second build to make a Fortunata for the BAF trials in hopes of shooting Nightstar and Siege with psi ranged attacks and using her control powers to try to help the controllers and dominators lock down escaping resistance prisoners and shoot to kill what I can, but it wouldn't hurt to buff nearby league members with Mind link since it does help to protect against the Vickys and the BCU's that reinforce Nightstar and Siege. So any ideas for the Fortunatas mind link would be helpful, too. I am fully aware the guide said that Fortunatas can not have a perma mind link.
Thank you in advance -
I kept trying to make a contact for my AE mission, but it won't let me save the costume or create it. I keep getting a message that says the load failed, "costume is not valid or something like that. You guys have this problem?
-
I am sure on certain forums we can freely talk about farming.
On this particular forum, it seems like a bad idea because you can get trolled and flamed or whatever for advertising farms and possibly even asking how to make a farm mission. This is not a great forum for keeping up with the latest farm trends anyways, because the Devs and GMs read these things.
But since we gotta get our opinions in.
I'd like to make an AE farm for political reasons within my supergroup network. So I can run them through later and look good for them because I am in a power playing supergroup that loves to speed things for XP and Inf bonuses and other rewards with the exception of AE. Where they love to farm it and make 9,999 AE tickets as qucikly as possible. But they are good people so I stick with them and don't want another supergroup.
I personally don't have a problem with farming and repeatable missions. It's why I do RPG's. Been doing it with every RPG i have played since 1991 starting with a game called Gateway to the Savage Frontier. If I can't farm and grind on the RPG I am playing. I stop playing in most cases.
That being said, I also see why AE was created. They want the players to show off thier creativity. I love that aspect very much. Which is why I want to make real story arcs as well. I wish all MMORPG's would do this including Blizzards World of Rude Trolling Griefplayers, Lord of the Rings Online, and Rift.
To me, it's a replacement for the Pen and Paper style RPG's because I can make my own missions and stories and just post them and when people wanna play them, they can. If I want to play them, I just do it. The game takes care of being the Dungeon Master so I don't need to keep track of as much stuff.
Even though people don't wanna play most of my AE missions and stories because they are stupid, not very rewarding, and there is generally WAY better things to do. I find it's way easier to get people to play. I one time made a pen and paper RPG of my own from scratch based on Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson's Butlerian Jihad Dune Novels and had to give up because I couldn't find people to play it. But I post an AE story arc and even though I don't advertise here, people still find my missions and play them. So I don't feel it's waste of time to make my own stories.
Anyways, please forgive my ramblings. -

There are 8 contacts in First Ward, not counting two I have seen so far that give out repeatable missions.
I solo'd them on a Claws/Willpower Brute and I keep getting called old fashioned because I still use TO's until level 12, DO's from level 12 to 22, and SO's until 47, never buying any IO's until I hit 47 and even then, I don't use many IO enhancement sets. So my character is much, much weaker than other players, characters.
But I did it just fine. No problems except for that floating monster that kept having his seedlings debuff me while I was talking to Numina and Master Midnight on top of that tall building in First Ward.
Oh and by the way. I hit level 30 before I could do the last two arcs. So I had to use Ouroboros to access those arcs.
If you don't got an Ouroboros Portal, get a bud to summon one and go get the badge on top of the building. I also got my portal power by doing a mission for that really hot blonde british chick in the midnighters club. She had some kind of time pocketwatch stolen from her and I had to go get it and it gave me the portal power for beating that mission. -
Thank you for all that info. I may do a Bane Spider/Wolf Spider Dual build combo first, then mess with Warshade. I want to make sure I can at least solo Boreas Timed Rikti Missions, the Newspaper/ mayhem missions, and the Tip/Alignment missions on a warshade and Bane Spider on the 0/1 settings at least, though I wanna group most of the time on those toons. I had better figure out how to get those toons into Cimerora, as well, though I am sure my Supergroup will help with that.
Still not sure, since I am going to limit myself to 4 characters because I want to buy enhancement boosters, extra salvage slots, enhancement trays, auction hall spots and costume slots, etc. and that adds up in dollars for 48 characters. Plus it's hard to get incarnate abilities all to tier 4 on more than 1-4 toons. I got two brutes which do good for me now.
Yes, Vigilante and Rogue all the way!
Anyways. I'll start with those channels, thanks. -
I just watched the video on the front page of the official website and it showed some heroes attacking one hero that as flying through first ward zone and when they chased him to gank him, the went to top of that buidling where Numina is at and there was a whole group of other heroes there to gank the four heros attacking that one hero.
That makes me have to ask, have the devs turned first ward into a PVP zone? -
Thanks for the responses. I feel much better now. Also I am alot more happier finding out that I won't be charged for signature story arcs since I am going VIP. I can buy a Circle of thorns costume set now.
-
I play alot solo and I confess, I don't like group play that much unless it's for the trials and task forces (I LOVE doing all the trials and task forces!) and I mostly just solo the tip/alignment missions, Boreas Rikti War Zone Timed Missions, AE story arcs (If I can solo it), the signature story arcs and finally, solo newpaper and mayhem missions when it's not peak hours.
But what if wanted to make a Warshade and an Arachnos Crab Spider later on and changed my mind and wanted to group with others to level those up? I can see myself wanting to make those characters later since it does gives me group friendly combo class characters to use on the trials and task forces.
Are there certain Channels I should be joining? How do you join them? Should I just broadcast that I am looking for a group? What would you suggest I do if I just play Villian Side only? Is it still possible to just level from 20-50 doing only task forces and maybe the new sewer trial because enough people do them?
What is the latest trend on how to find a group in todays game on Virtue? -
I am right at tier 8 on the paragon rewards and only need like 3 more points to open up tier 9, but I might not be able to unlock the celestial armor sets in time because I think I gotta fill up the tier 9 slots before it will let me go to the top and buy those costumes and I think they are about to do away with the costumes all together.
I am going to stay a VIP, so I know I get 400 points from that and I am now going to put in 20 dollars a month for 1600 paragon points so I can buy the signature story arcs, windfalls and costumes. Maybe go ahead and spend another 20 dollars later so I can buy 5 more AE story slots because it's cheaper to buy them 5 at a time than it is to buy one at a time. So I know I get at least one or two reward points per month from that.
But what if I don't get enough paragon points to be able to buy the celestial armor in time before it leaves, is my one and only chance gone forever? You guys heard of that costume set going on sale later in the Paragon Market by any chance or maybe coming back up for purchase? -
Quote:Also, I added a clarification to the wiki to note that it works on both set pieces and common pieces.
I really appreciate that. I just checked the updated article and it's crystal clear to me now. Now it's time to plan my templates, start shopping, and start boosting away!
