Tier 9 Paragon rewards question

I am right at tier 8 on the paragon rewards and only need like 3 more points to open up tier 9, but I might not be able to unlock the celestial armor sets in time because I think I gotta fill up the tier 9 slots before it will let me go to the top and buy those costumes and I think they are about to do away with the costumes all together.

I am going to stay a VIP, so I know I get 400 points from that and I am now going to put in 20 dollars a month for 1600 paragon points so I can buy the signature story arcs, windfalls and costumes. Maybe go ahead and spend another 20 dollars later so I can buy 5 more AE story slots because it's cheaper to buy them 5 at a time than it is to buy one at a time. So I know I get at least one or two reward points per month from that.

But what if I don't get enough paragon points to be able to buy the celestial armor in time before it leaves, is my one and only chance gone forever? You guys heard of that costume set going on sale later in the Paragon Market by any chance or maybe coming back up for purchase?

You don't need to fill Tier 9 in order to access Tier 9 VIP, you can jump straight from T8 to T9 VIP.

Celestial Armor will be back, it won't be gone forever. Previously the plan had been to rotate out T9 VIP options every few months, but I believe the devs are re-evaluating the specifics of that plan. I expect they will still rotate them out, but it might not be as frequent, or they may offer other possibilities (this is speculation though).

By the way, you don't need to buy the Signature Story Arcs, you get them free as a VIP.

Indeed. Positron said, "I just want to come out here and say that the cycling of the tier 9 rewards was kind of based on the design that you can pre-purchase your months in advance and get all your tokens. Since that's no longer the case right now, we may be revisiting the cycling part of the Tier 9 stuff."

That's what i did. i really wanted the Celestial sets, so i picked those up right away; and i didn't feel a pressing need for the Tier 9 consumables, so i didn't get any of them yet.

T9 is T9, the VIP part is only because that section of T9 is restricted to VIPs. You do not have to get any of the consumable/repeatable T9 rewards if you don't want to, and still be able to get the stuff in the VIP section.

Technically, you can't fill Tier 9 anyway. They're all repeatable rewards.

So I have a question - I bought all the repeatables on T9 except the signature summon and got a message that I had bought it, but I can't find it in my email or in the powers for the character I was on when I bought it.

I assume I am doing something wrong - can someone help me?

I am not there yet myself, but based on how it is supposed to work:

There are three email tabs. the farthest left (first) is your inbox where people send you messages and you can send yourself stuff. The middle one is where all the stuff that you can claim for every character you own appears. Like the respecs, free tailor tickets, etc. the third one (far right) is where the items you can only claim one time appear. IO unslotters, IO boosters, Windfall tokens etc.

I believe that the repeatable rewards mostly appear on the third tab. You should be able to view them from any character, but if you claim them once, then only that character can use them.

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

It's easier to think of the Tier 9 VIP rewards as just three extra Tier 9 rewards that are only available to VIPs.

all consumables appear in the character items section of the email since they are only claimable per toon

OK, thanks. But once I claim them, where do I find them on the character? I'm not seeing them in Temporary or Inherant powers list.

Depends on what you claimed.

The Unslotters, you drag a slotted enhancement down to your tray in the Manage screen.

The Boosters, you click a power in your Manage screen, pull an enhancement down into the combine circle, and the booster automatically goes into the second circle.

The other bits and bobs are all temporary powers, and can be found in temporary powers.

Thanks for the responses. I feel much better now. Also I am alot more happier finding out that I won't be charged for signature story arcs since I am going VIP. I can buy a Circle of thorns costume set now.

Just to squash my ever-present paranoia:

When they do cycle the rewards, do we need to put tokens again in the tier 9 VIP slots, or do our existing tokens there cover them?

The only reason I ask, is that none of the other tiers have a planned changing; they will be set in stone AFAIK. Just want to know if I need to plan to have tokens around when they do change.

I find your lack of signature disturbing.

If they do cycle out, then new rewards would cycle in, and you would need to fill those separately since they are different rewards. Presumably, if the same reward cycles back in, it would still be filled.

Got it, thanks. My confusion was due to the fact that I had not claimed all the "Character Items" that I got originally when all this stuff went live for the headstart, and the subject text of the emails never changed.

So, every time I looked at my email it would say "Enhancement Unslotters (1)", but when I actually click on the email it shows in the body the actual number of items I can claim.

Not clear, IMO.
