Sorry, I could not resist, but I'll get to the question and the point.

I am currently playing a Night Widow and I am going to be looking to make her Mind Link perma or close to perma. But I read on the guide that in order for that to happen, I am suppose to 6 slot the power and do whats called "Frakenslotting" it by simply buying one of each Defense/Recharge enhancement or recipe or buying one of each Defense/Recharge/Endurance Reduction and simply adding them into Mind Link. I got two brutes that can farm so crafting is not a problem.

But the guide did not say specifically what recipe/enhancements to buy, you guys got any suggestions?

I am also going to use her second build to make a Fortunata for the BAF trials in hopes of shooting Nightstar and Siege with psi ranged attacks and using her control powers to try to help the controllers and dominators lock down escaping resistance prisoners and shoot to kill what I can, but it wouldn't hurt to buff nearby league members with Mind link since it does help to protect against the Vickys and the BCU's that reinforce Nightstar and Siege. So any ideas for the Fortunatas mind link would be helpful, too. I am fully aware the guide said that Fortunatas can not have a perma mind link.

Thank you in advance

Forts can perma mind link. It just takes a bit more recharge.

I have a melee fortunata that I enjoy quite a bit. Capped positionals without mind link, trial capped with mind link up. It's got a full melee chain, spin, aid self, some nice ranged attacks and some control. Perma mind link, double assault and maneuvers. Worth noting, my ranged dmg 'chain' is pretty gappy (unless you count confuse as a ranged attack, I don't), but I mostly use it for the controls and to shut down runners. With a t4 spiritual, hasten also perma.

There are lots of ways to slot mind link- I like 3 membranes, I've seen other folks use 5 pieces Red Fortune for the 5% recharge bonus. For frankenslotting, it really doesn't matter which sets. Use mids and start plugging some in . You won't need six slots to frankenslot; as one possible example, 3 Luck of the Gamblers (d/r, e/r, d/e/r) and one red fortune d/r will get you to the ed cap for recharge.

My fort, if you're interested. A little pricey, not sure what your budget is like. There are ways to drop cost without dropping too much effectiveness in the build. Or, you could spend a little more on it and gain a bit.

Trick I did for my Level 35 Widow - Adjusted Targeting (ToHit Buff) has a Rech only IO, and then I grab Def/Rech from any set that's not LotG. 3 of those + Hasten and the AdjTar work pretty well.

You must have read a terrible guide.

It's almost trivial to perma Mindlink on a Night Widow, and possible but difficult on a Fortunata.

You will need to work on builds as a whole, not just slotting the one power. You'll need some global recharge, and you'll probably want hasten with a recharge of 135s or less.

See the archives link in my sig for multiple example builds.

Hey thanks, I just might read that guide.

The Red Fortune idea does sound good, though.

If you can afford to spring for the LoTG +Recharges then you can easily perma Mind Link on a Widow without Hasten or any Purples. Then again, you can also softcap *without* Mind Link (Though you may have to make some slight compromises to do it).

Basically, Night Widows are very cheap and easy to softcap and/or perma Mind Link.

You got that right, I just dingeded to level 28 and took mind link already on my night widow and shot it off without putting enhancements in to look at the combat attributes and already I saw like a 42% defense to melee! Thats like 3% percent away from softcap for melee defense!

Well, softcap for the real world anyways, I think it would need another 17% of melee defense to get to the Incarnate trial softcap. Maruader, Siege, Nightstar, the avatar of Hamidon, and the Goliath Warwalkers, infested or not can kill the hardiest stone tankers just as easily as any Night Widow anyways. :'(

But I really should break down and spend my merits and buy a LOTG enhancement set anyways for that toon.
