Quote:Yes, I saw this yesterday while on one of my dragon based characters. Seeing a burning, firebreathing Malta Gunslinger with massive wings and a tail was quite amusing. Not sure if it's just client side or not though.I noticed something odd just now. I have a toon that has an animated tail. Specifically the bioluminescent tail. When I use one of the ToT temp costume powers, the tail's still there.
It's actually kinda funny and a bit cute, but technically it's probably a bug. Anybody else notice this? -
Those are BRILLIANT!!!
I'd certainly buy them and I'm not even a big soft drinks person.
It'd be great if you could do one to look like the in game adverts for Enriche although I don't know how readily available the graphics are.
Still, top work! -
I'm not a big IO person but my Stone/SS runs at just below normal run speed and all of his +Run or +Movement IOs were not expensive in the slightest. In my build, I currently use:
Regenerative Tissue - 2x = +4%
Ghost Widow's Embrace - 2x = +5%
Aegis - 2x = +5%
Force Feedback - 2x = +5%
Winter's Gift - 3x = +6%
Gift of the Ancients - 1x +7.5%
In various amounts. Of them all, the Gift of the Ancients set was the most expensive and even then, only about 2 million a piece. Winter's Gift would be expensive but I earned them during the Winter event that is just around the corner.
I still have Teleport in my build which I occasionally use in missions and for travelling between them but the cost of getting IOs that boost Run and Movement speed is not that much. Well worth looking into once you feel that you want to. The posted guide is certainly what helped me with mine.
In the meantime, teleport is your friend. Good luck with your Stoney. -
I may be skirting board rules here with drug references but I laughed my head off when I saw:
"This ****'s good, it feels like I'm driving."
I had to pull over and stop laughing before I caused an accident. -
Indeed. Two nights ago, I'm floating on Dragonstar's wings above a big spawn of zombies in Talos Island, setting them all aflame when I see a Psi-Scout join the bottom of the team listing. Feeling confused, I spin around to see a gorram Rikti charging into the fray. Had I have not been busy incinerating the undead, I would have wrestled him to the ground and demanded he tell me his secret...
So yes. I am willing to part with my hard earned cash for costume codes. Anytime NCSoft want to take the money from my hands, they only have to ask. Here's hoping that someone from marketing is listening... -
CA, your timing is apt given I still remember your original suggestion for a zombie invasion style event. I don't know whether your suggestion was read or whether it was just great minds thinking alike but I blame you for the red skied apocalypse that normally precedes a trip to the hospital for me. Grrrr...!
I'm still going to keep bugging you and I'll be keeping a seat warm on the Militia forums until you come back. Now go and hang out with nubile university girlies. I'll stay here and feel jealous. -
I really can get behind this idea. I have a handful of characters that are either based on or inspired by in game villain groups and now I know there's a Rikti costume code too, I'm positively drooling at the thoughts of making a simarly themed character. So, in case I'm not clear, this is a big YES from me.

Rikti invasion on the 5th November?
This is what I get for praying to Loki. I said I want to BE a Rikti for my birthday, not get invaded by them.
Still, Watchman Accolade ahoy!!! -
Mutt might have had some education but as stated, doesn't have the experience of Indy and no amount of intense schooling would bring him up to Doctor Jones' level in a sufficiently short space of time. I just don't think he'd have the authority of years of study to bring to bear on cunning ancient conundrums. I could see the film becoming Mutt just stumbling through one booby trap to the next and not having to apply his brain. And that'd just make it like another Lara Croft film for me.
One positive thing about Crystal Skull was that it suddenly made me realise how good Temple of Doom really is. -
Passing the torch to Mutt would be the wrong idea IMHO. There are three distinct problems, most of which have been stated in this thread:
1) An unacademic, uneducated lout taking over from Indy. Wrong!
2) A quite frankly dull time period compared to the 1930 - 40s.
3) A leading man with as much charisma as a plank of wood.
Now if someone suggested doing Indy prequels with a competent actor in the role, then I'd be interested. Compare and contrast The Beef's stint as Indy's sidekick to the pre-credits sequence in Last Crusade and there's no contest. -
Fire/Fire/Fire lives and dies on the concept of killing everything before it gets a chance to kill you back.
Take as much AoE damage as you can and build for recharge so you can spam your AoEs fast. Makes sure you have a few hard single target attacks such as Blaze for Bosses and lucky Lieutenants.
As for pools, I find leaping good for being light on slots and the hold and knockback resistance in Acrobatics. Flight is a good pool as well if you prefer to Hoverblast from a range. Medicine for Aid Self is a bit hard to fire off in the middle of a fight but handy for filling up the green bar inbetween spawns.
As others have said, we can't say much until we see a build but those are my general tips and they seem to work well for my Fire3. -
A few years ago, when David and War Witch visited Blighty, David was kind enough to sketch one of my characters and a fine job he did too:
Perhaps we might be able to persuade them to visit us again someday... -
Is this a suitable tribute? RIP, you've made mathematicians and many college students very happy. And who can say that?

I would go to a party with all of them. I have a feeling it'd be pretty entertaining. I don't think I'd call them obscure though.
I think I'd like Anthony Head at my party. I know someone who's gone drinking with him and apparently he's incredibly charming and entertaining. -
I like all of these ideas so far. Chasing a moving car or train or being in a level that moves would add so much dynamism to an event.
Heartily approved on all levels. -
Could be the 'Growl' emote that came with the Mutant Pack. I think that's the one but it puts the character on all fours.
Still, that's a neat costume. -
Not a chance.
Mutt has easily taken the place of Willie as Indy's most annoying sidekick to date. -
I have very fond memories of that show, even if it was a little naff even for 80s TV. I still remember gaining a love of animals from watching it. Now I will have to try and track it down on DvD.
And Simon, ever the charming rogue, even in his later years. A sad passing of a classy actor. RIP. -
Hi folks
I've got some ideas for this combination but I'm curious to know what people think it will work best on. I'll confess to being a slave to Fury and love my Brutes but I'm wondering if there's anything about the combination on a Scrapper that would be worth forgoing the higher HP and Taunt effect (and Fury... of course).
Thanks for your time. -
Oh and Gale. It actually has a chance of hitting Level 1s.
-
Knockout Blow on Level 1 Clockwork.

That is awesome! Great find!
Now to run all my female characters through it and see where they lie. -
I wouldn't be surprised if this has been misunderstood.
Time Lords can be immortal but a limit of 12 regenerations was put in place by Rassilon IIRC. Now given that he broke that limit himself, and granted a new set of regenerations to The Master for his help in the Time War, there is precident for that limit being lifted. So if the Doctor was asked how many times a Time Lord can regenerate, he would still be correct in saying 'none'. It just depends on how the question was asked.
So I'd put my money on this being a misunderstood quote from the episode rather than a rewriting of Who lore. I would be hugely surprised if a big Whovian like Moffat let something like that slide. Of course the BBC will continue to make Who after his 12 regenerations are up, that's a no brainer. It's just how they go about it that will be interesting.
So no, not convinced by this leak just yet. -
Thanks for the link. I have no idea why I couldn't find those while searching with the same terms. Might be something to do with my location maybe.
Either way, I would enjoy seeing these become easier to obtain rewards other than attending conventions (which I love dearly anyway). However, I also see that some folk might grumble that it takes away their 'specialness'. For those of us that can't always get to cons or don't have any near us, I'd support inventive ways to get hold of them. Here's mine:
1) Tie them to defeat badges. That I could live with. I'm not the biggest badger out there but I would hunt down a few thousand Rikti to get the code.
2) Link them to the costume badges for the Halloween event. If you collect enough costumes from Trick of Treating, then you get to choose one to use permanently.
