It's difficult to answer what is wrong with your build if no one knows anything about it, and generally people don't really post builds or guides anymore- it's more of a critique thing these days
Post what you have and you will get more attention
If you're a lvl 50 losing to lvl 45 mobs, I think the problem might go beyond your build.
That being said, without knowing your build, I wouldn't know for sure.
Posting your build would be the best way to get help.
Aim+build up - Firebreath/fireball, run into melee Fire sword circle/burn? i only use three of them now but you get the idea.
I crashed a cadillac through the gates of hell and returned with a fistfull of dollars.
Fire/Fire/Fire lives and dies on the concept of killing everything before it gets a chance to kill you back.
Take as much AoE damage as you can and build for recharge so you can spam your AoEs fast. Makes sure you have a few hard single target attacks such as Blaze for Bosses and lucky Lieutenants.
As for pools, I find leaping good for being light on slots and the hold and knockback resistance in Acrobatics. Flight is a good pool as well if you prefer to Hoverblast from a range. Medicine for Aid Self is a bit hard to fire off in the middle of a fight but handy for filling up the green bar inbetween spawns.
As others have said, we can't say much until we see a build but those are my general tips and they seem to work well for my Fire3.

Hi all, I haven't played my Blaster in a year so the build is pretty fail, I found myself dying to lv45 mobs (I'm lv50) so I've managed to get hold of a respec
I mostly team so looking for a high damage build but also some defence.
If anyone can link me to a build or any help given it would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
