You do know that malta sappers don't use thier sap in melee?
You want to change that??
[/ QUOTE ]My main is an /Elec Brute. ;b
Okay, okay, I have seen/felt what Sappers can do. And? This would add a refreshing amount of challenge to the game. Every time I force a Rikti or Lost boss into melee on my Invul Tanker I feel like I'm exploiting.
Also it'd just make sense. Otherwise you could rename them into "Rikti Sort-of-Psionic Swordsman".
Besides, Sappers are Minions. They die fast enough. -

3.- Heroside Respec Trials, I think the reactor should be revamped somehow, you spend a 10% of the overall completion time actually doing something and the remaining 90% just waiting at the reactor for waves to spawn. Don't know if they could make them spawn after 15 seconds since last foe is killed (15 secs should be enough to bubble up and go back for more) or something, if it takes longer then go check the corridor looking for a teleporter or look underneath the generator in case a foe has been knocked back there (they could fix that too now that I think). It would also be nice to tag the glowies saying "NOTHING WILL HAPPEN IF YOU CLICK THIS GLOWIE, NO LESS COOLANT BELTS, NO MORE WAVES AND NO LUSCA SPAWNING IN REACTOR"
[/ QUOTE ]Heroside respec is fine.
Villainside respec is horrible. Give the Thorn Tree an "Only Affecting Self" debuff for as long as there's even a single Vine remaining, PLEASE. It's frustrating to see the squishies get twoshotted by a random thorn snipe from miles away while we're still clearing up the darn Vines, which seems to promptly cause some 20 Vines to respawn. -
Ah, knew it sounded familiar from somewhere (the novel). Never seen nor heard of the chat show, sadly.
Thanks for the info. -
Dunno what Room 101 is, but I always love to rant.
Heroside content is so freaking boring that my highest hero is level 36. And that was soooo painful. I think he only got that high because he was my first actual (non-screwed-up) hero so I didn't know it'd stay boring forever. Where the heck are all the well-written arcs CoV has? And contacts that are interesting and have personalities, as opposed to "Generic random non-interesting human #86"? Well, they're in the Hollows, Faultline, Striga and Croatoa. That's it. 4 extremely short arcs per zone. And these are "out of the way" zones, too. In the standard zones it's full of faceless monkeys giving you 3 missions of "Defeat 30 Council" in a row, followed by a Talk mission 5 zones away. And then you get a souvenir out of nowhere explaining that you just completed a "Story Arc". Pfft. Redo them -all- at some point, PLEASE.
Same goes for the Task Force Commander accolade requirement TFs - mostly Positron of course. These just NEED a revamp.
Finally, the way Veteran Rewards work. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea! But... eh, this is just a personal issue. I just really wish we could pick one from the full list every 3 months. I've only been playing for over half a year and I realise that I'll probably never get a chance to experience some of the cooler vet rewards - I still don't even have Sands of Mu. Unless the game gets an engine overhaul and CO and DCUO spark a wider interest in the Superhero MMO genre, well... you know where I'm going with this. I'll keep playing as long as it lasts, but I was already "treated" to Greek Letters not long ago...
I realise I'm probably being unreasonable about this. But a shop-like system with 1 "purchase" made available per 3 months would be great for me. Now excuse me as I return to staring at the Vet Arachnos Helmets, grinding my teeth. -
Extend the Mastermind pet AI attack chain upgrade to enemy mobs - at least to the ones that it makes sense on.
An example of what I mean: Currently Rikti Mentalists/Mesmerists, Lost bosses and many other mobs have all these fancy ranged attacks and controls and whatnot... which they immediately forget all about upon pulling out their swords.
What I'm proposing is to let hostile mobs (well, maybe not ones with revolvers that use sledgehammers in melee) cycle ranged attacks in melee as well. Could even go as far as to let Rikti Mentalists and similar mobs not have to redraw when using their ranged powers when having a melee weapon out. -
So Kuhr'Rekt and the ones you get to defeat in missions are Restructurists and the ones in the ugly green robes are Traditionalists?
-
Ambassador Kuhr'Rekt is a Traditionalist*. You know, the kill-everything bad guys. The ones friendly with Vanguard and heroes are the other ones. Right now they're in a tight spot because of limited/almost no contact with the homeworld, so they're focusing on surviving and establishing stable footholds. To do this, they're apparently willing to bargain with Recluse for materials and the like, in exchange for technology (such as Arachnos Drones).
*(Based on the reply before me, that is. I can't remember which faction was which so I'm gonna trust the person.) -
Well you can already destroy lab equipment in Crey labs.
-
I'd play a Vanguard Wizard only for the GREEN LIGHTNING STAVES alone!
-
Oh yes! A "Back" option in addition to the "Yes" and "No" for the Tutorial confirmation would be a godsend.
-
2) Elude works just fine as a travel power for Night Widows.
-
I'm pretty sure the reason we destroy Rikti Bombs is because they're alien. Apparently player-Heroes all know how to defuse regular bombs.
-
Well I'll give it a go. Just as soon as I can think of a concept for some guy who has a horde of robot minions, yet prefers to take the hits himself.
I'd just make the guy a big robot himself but it's insanely difficult to make a good robotic-looking robot in this game, instead of a guy wearing a suit. -
Mace/EA Brutes are far too STRONG AND PRETTY. Nerf please.
-
I've discovered that when in a PUG on my MA/Regen Scrapper I turn into a bigger jerk than usual. Had some poor Stone Tanker yelling at me like crazy the other night because I kept running ahead of him and Dragon's Tailing the next spawn as he waddled after me slowly (lazy Kinetic).
-
How about a Tsoo EAT sometime that lets you pick whatever powerset combo you like (but not two from the same class such as two debuff sets, of course). Playing that Swift Steel Katana/Kinetics thing would be nifty, heh.
As for HEATs I dunno. I can't think of any hero factions with particularly unique powersets or thematics or signature powers. Longbow are just boring with horrible outfits, with the notable exception of Ballistae of course. -
Any weapon customization requires the actual animations per powerset to remain the same. Arm-mounted crossbows for archery and sonic rifles and whatnot wouldn't work for that.
-
That's a lot of Hami-Os. And a purple set. That build appears to be worth over ten times more than all of my characters put together.
Maybe it'd be a better idea for me to go Mace first and work up the inf sometime while the devs work on bringing us respeccable Patrons. <_< -
How exactly is destroying stuff in the Rogue Isles, where it's probably already difficult to live for its citizens with poverty and supervillains around every corner, heroic?
-
Huh. CoX already has brilliant graphics for its age. I've honestly -never- found myself wishing for any more detail.
But then I don't see my character's face often from the 3rd person behind view, so maybe I can't value the ideas of animated faces and such.
Nifty but unnecessary stuff, I suppose, would be separated fingers on non-VEATs. And maybe mouth-moving talking animations like they have in WoW bound directly to when you say something in Local or Broadcast. Adding exclamations or questionmarks changing the animation, etc.
/e talk is fine too though. *shrug* -

/hide works individually now.
[/ QUOTE ]Which sucks horribly. -

And then it needs to offer equivalent rewards, or people won't participate in that content.
And if those rewards increase the power of the characters, then you'll need to create the next tier of high-end content to challenge those characters.
And so on and so forth.
[/ QUOTE ]So, in other words... endgame progression?
Like in other MMORPGs? -
There's already a bomb-defusing side mission in Safeguards, isn't there?
As well as weapon confiscation and drug confiscation etc etc?
Heroes tend to use other methods to deal with the objects you just described than SMASH. SMASH should be left for us Brutes! -
How to have fun in PUGS:
Roll a Storm/Energy Defender and put Energy Torrent on Auto, then select the Tanker and hit your F key (assuming you're using default controls).
Oh, and don't forget to always have Hurricane toggled on.
