    I checked the numbers of the corr's base damage for a snipe blast: 8.9168. Then I checked the dom's base for the same snipe power (blazing bolt): 8.9168.

    Why is the dom's snipe inferior to the corr's? There's a different damage scale, yes?

    YES.

    The numbers you found are a measure of Brawl Index.
    Brawl index is how much damage that power does compared to that ATs Brawl Damage. Each AT does however do a different amount of Brawl damage at each level.

    The Brawl index is an outdated form of measurement for damage, but it's the one everyone is most familiar with.

    A few months back someone on the boards figured out a much more accurace system, I believe he called it Damage Index, but most people writing guides pull their numbers from hero planner programs that still use Brawl Index.

    Esentially, blaster damage is the base damage and there is a modifier applied for each AT. Corrupters have a higher modifier than Dominators, so a power with indentical Brawl indexes in the hands of a Corrupter will do more damage than a Dominator. In COH defenders share powersets with blasters but do significantly less damage with the same powers.
  2. I don't believe the Legends system has anything to do with incarnates.

    It was mentioned back when Hammi'os were dropped down to SO values that NEW enhancements that provided 50% and possibly higher values were on their way.

    My guess is that they will be available as the rewards for end game content. If they only trail off in effectiveness like enhancements should, you should be able get values up to 144% instead of the current 95%. This will allow you to make your charecters more powerfull, free up slots for different enhancement types, etc... all WITHOUT raising the level cap, which is something the DEVs dread having to do.

    Also, my only silly rant here.
    Nictus are evil energy beings.
    Warshades are Nictus merged with willing human hosts.
    Warshades were added as heroes quite simply because there was no COV at the time. While warshades trying to redeem themselves makes a cool hero concept there is absolutely NO reason that a Warshade who merged with an Evil human would not be a villain.

    Simply put, Warshades make a no brainer villain AT.

    They are still Warshades to boot, no reason to cook up some new Nictus name for them.

  4. You do realize that as a guide you left out both the "how" and "why".

    I understand the concept and the considerations you pointed out but you should really add two more sections to your "guide" explaining exactly how to do it and possible motivations for doing it. Including the details of the healing and damage taken badges would be a classy touch as well.

    Actually, I tend to pop music CDs into my DVD drive while playing COH. I have the COH sounds turned down and media players volume cranked up.

    Huh ? You don't see any problem with the one set that has multiple pets to fight for it being able to quickly duck in and out of indestructable mode ?

    That's like a Phase shifted Controller pre-phase shift nerf.

    MM's can sit and hide behind PFF, having their pets do the fighting for them, your just not allowed to pop in and out of PFF to respawn pets and get cheap shots in. That is some semblance of balance.

    The more this game evolves the more I find that the sets we thought were going to be UBER in PVP are the ones that got whacked hard with the nerf stick to prevent them from achieving dominance.


    Phase Shifted controllers = Phase shift nerf
    Elec Blasters/defenders = Endurance drain nerfed to uselessness
    Anything with PFF = Defenders in PVP yeah right ?
    ED prevents blasters from ruling PVP.
    FF MM's are nothing but their pets, and pets don't amount to much in PVP
    Regen Scrappers = Okay Regens are still tough, but their not G0DLY anymore

    MM's won't truly be good in PVP untill they get ice/cold Masterminds. Since I just made them up, that could be a long way off Ice critters would make b4d455 pets.

    This is classic.

    Mostly of course because we all know the Red Sox Roxxors!!

    I know that Isolator will not be available for villains, but I will take special joy smacking that lone Infected around EVERY chance I get with my villains.

    I'm glad the Devs have provided me with this oppurtunity to feel truly villainous

    I do wish he spawned every 15 minutes or so. Every 2 hours is a bit much.

    The problem I've always had with SR is that you don't get any AoE protection until lvl 28. Try playing against Council hand grenades in the Volcano TF at lvl 27 -- it's impossible. You'll be thrown into the air so many times your butt will never touch the ground until you're dead.

    My understanding of StreakBreaker is that it will force a miss after 10 hits in a row. You will however be capable of missing all on your own 5% of the time still.

    Over time it will all even out but I myself find that when I start to miss, I miss in groupings of 3 or more. Just the other day I missed a +2 minion 6 times in a row with 2 Acc SO's, Buildup, and a few insights all going.

    I really can't see them requiring Jail Bird or Destined one as a requirement for anything.

    Destined One is only available to COH DVD owners and Jail Bird is the Isolator of COV. Requiring EITHER of those badges for anything would exclude a good percentage of players/charecters from ever earning the accolade as you can't go back and get them after charecter creation.

    When does YOUR left hand leave the keyboard using the default configuration ?

    The only real difference I use from the default setup is that I have the "z" Target_Enemy_Near and I never lift my left hand from the keyboard during combat.

    Again, I mean to offence, I'm just not seeing where the "problem" exists that you've spent all this time perfecting a fix for.
  14. I got to play one last night. My random observations in NO particular order.

    Team of 4 all level 40, no idea what the difficulty was set on.

    * The mastermind was screwed. His pets attacked everything, and wen he spawned in prison he was almost instakilled by longbow & Guards that mobed teh prison and attacked him the instant he spawned.

    * All destructable objects were levels 6-10

    * After robbing the bank Lumianry showed up and we couldn't even dent her. I don't know wether she was an AV or there was just something bugged, but MY EM Stalker popping reds, BU, and ASing here did nothing to her hp, and even overload couldn't keep me alive for more tha 30 seconds with her.

    * Didn't find or unlock any sidequests

    * It was all quite enjoyable except for the invincible Luminary at the end.

    I don't mind the animation, but it certainly isn't very "Jacob's Ladder"-ish. More like "Static Burst." I'd rather the animation start with the character holding two fists together out in front of him and then pull them apart with a large arc of electricity jumping from hand to hand that then flashes outward. Yanno - like the arc at the top of a Jacob's Ladder.

    They just recycled the ugliest animation from the Blaster APP.

    I imagined Jacobs ladder exactly as you described it as well. I could have sworn that's how it was described in an interview somewhere.....

    To make matters worse is when you have to explain it more that once to any given n00b.

    Some people are just cr4ppy players no matter how much you try to help them. Other times you get people who will openly defy you and just do whatever they want, just because (they are m0r0n5)
  18. PULLING - WHY BOTHER ?

    In the time it takes me to explain "pulling" to the newbs/n00bs I could have just used TP FOE to effectively accomplish the same thing.

    Okay, scratch "could have".

    I gave up on rellying on other people to pull.

    I've seen people attempt to pull with AOEs, sniping the boss, attempting to pull someone from a mob they already aggored, face pulling with a squishy, etc....

    It's just not the aggrivation.
  19. I thought the Jacobs Ladder animation was underwhelming.

    It looked like my brute was waving sparklers at the enemy.

    It needs more electricity animation and sound. It's a high damage attack and it's the least imposing looking attack in the set.

    What I think would be fair would be to give you 100% chance to crit the foe you target with a 50% chance of also critting anyone else in the AoE.

    I'm guessing with Recharge Reduction SOs you can proly get the recharge down to about 7-8 minutes. So your pets can be up about half the time.

    Only Controllers and Masterminds are going to have perma pets, by design.

    I've been waiting since release to roll an Elec/Elec anything, since my first (and favorite 'toon ) was my elec/elec Blaster. Heck i would've been happy with an elec/elec Dominator (heh thankfully it's an AT with alittle more SMASH :P)

    I'm in the same boat. My first hero was an Elec/Elec/Elec Blaster and I really wanted to roll up an evil alternate Earth version of him for COV.

    I'm guessing an Elec/Elec brute will be a opposite as I can get of an Elec/Elec blaster

    While I agree defense is better than resistance here, Black Scorpion Powers require you tote around a stupid mace you can't even bash anyone with.

    THAT ALONE will discourage many players from taking Black Scorpion as a mentor.
