i'm sure this is already a "known issue", but dark melee's version of build up has a different-colored icon from the rest of the set.

Shadow Maul will not crit hit out of hide

AoE and 'Cones' don't always crit, remember, because then (if you could line them up) you'd always crit multi targets.

Cone attacks usually only get a chance to crit with Assassination.

I'm fine with the non-crit. If it's still a 6.0 BI attack, we'll still be outdamaging Bone Smasher most of the time.

Sorry for double post:

I noticed, one time, that Shadow Maul's animation looked as if *I* was the one getting hit by it. The whole "OMG I'm being ravaged!" look. Tried to reproduce it, but failed. It occured on the rare occasion when you just stand there while the animation plays out, such as when you drop from fly while activating a power, your character will simply drop and do nothing while the power animates. Just an odd thing I noticed.

This is fairly common in both Dark Melee for brutes and scrappers.

Shadow Maul is critting out of Hide 50% of the time, with an extra chunk of damage added on the very last punch in the DoT.

That said, it's silly to me that these tiny melee cones have such a small chance to crit.

Shadow Maul is not the same type of AE as Spine Burst or Shockwave. You're not going to hit a whole spawn with it without a whole lot of herding and wrangling. Shadow Maul is essentially a single target attack with the added bonus of a tiny cone, but that bonus actually hurts it for Stalkers. Having only a 50% chance to crit drags it down for PVP also (as if the 5 second root animation wasn't bad enough ).

Tiny melee cones should either have regular single target chance to crit or darn close. 50% is bogus.

I agree with Doctor Abominable. I'm not liking Smite as the only possible guaranteed Crit followup after AS + Placate.

Midnight Grasp at 32 is a long way off for second big-damage single target attack to use for followups.


Arc Salvo: Okay hold one sec guys, we can't just rush in blindly vs these Nemesis, they've got these ranged aoe's tha-

Midnight Grasp is 6.3 Damage, single target, thats 12.6 critical AND 100% dark damage.

thats freaking awesome.

Maul is 6.0 damage , 50% critical is just like Ripper (6.3 damage) - Ripper you get at 26, Maul you get at level 2.

All seems right to me.

I would be happy to if the freaking servers would ever come up from the standard 2 hour/ 6 hour downtime

I have to agree, can we have a different animation for the dark melee Assassin strike. There's just something unimpressive an animation which looks like someone is squatting over a bucket with constipation.

well it is single target (not a cone) and only 6 damage, having it crit 100% would consistent with the other stalker single target attacks.

I can't believe that anyone would believe MG would not crit. Its far below ET and TF. The DOT has me worried. I'm concerned that it the DOT may stop a stalker from rehiding.

I agree.

What I think would be fair would be to give you 100% chance to crit the foe you target with a 50% chance of also critting anyone else in the AoE.
