Combining this with the "optionset buffsettings" settings I created this for Buffers to hide those pesky Auto and toggle powers and set stacking to Auto to help them spot expiring buffs and mezzes from the icon spam.
Macro :
/macro Buf "popmenu optionsetbuff"
Menu File :
Data\Texts\English\Menus\optionset.mnu
Code:I have confirmed that Hiding Toggles works across the board too.// POPMENU File for OptionSet Buff commands // Menu "OptionSetBuff" { Title "Buff Window Commands" Option "Default &1" "optionset buffsettings 0" Option "All Numeric &2" "optionset buffsettings 1052688" Option "All Numeric Hide Auto &3" "optionset buffsettings 1118481" Divide Option "Hide All Auto and Toggles &4" "optionset buffsettings 1250067" Option "Hide Self Auto and Toggles &5" "optionset buffsettings 19" Option "Hide Team Auto and Toggles &6" "optionset buffsettings 4864" Option "Hide Pet Auto and Toggles &7" "optionset buffsettings 1245184" }
Options 2-7 all set stacking to numeric.
The options are exclusive so choosing Hide Self Auto and Toggles shows them in the Team and Pet menu. Choosing Hide Team Auto and Toggles will set Self and Team back to default. -
Given BaBs quietness from the start of the year and now this I reckon there he must have been have been on another project which has now been shelved. Reading TheOchos recycled HR post in the other thread seems to support that theory too. That is all of course a total and complete guess on my part.
Edit :Good post SilverAgeFan
In any case farewell BaBs, you did some great work and were always an entertaining poster. Hope you find a new position worthy of your talents elsewhere. -

Quote:How many times do people have to repeat it? You got 2 with i18, Overguard and Sport.I just dont like the fact that we dont have any new FREE costume since I15.
If you happy with that, ok. Im not, its my opinion.
Im not minimizing nothing, and Im thankful of what they did in the past for free, but this is now and since boosters went on sale, they keeping the good stuff to sell it.
I think thats greedy. I know this is business, but I think they should come with some free costumes and the some for paid boosters. Not 1 and half year without adding a single one.
Im just concerned because I dont see a balance when it comes to costumes. Pay or nothing.
I think doing waves on your knees for all the devs do is dumb also. -
Quote:You don't know what SMS is? Texting on your mobile! (although I understand that it's not as wide spread in the US as it is over here). If that's QQ, then what the heck is SMS? It's one of the regions on the Continent of Communication, along with Internet, E-mail, Cell Phones, and Spoken Language (I was surprised and impressed that he realized this was larger and more important than the Internet). For that matter, where are the areas devoted to Written Communications and Not-Cell Phones (yes, some of us Luddites still have those)?

Maybe some other sellers saw the niche and decided to get in on the action and that increased supply did something to the price?
Or maybe a lot of people stopped playing their 50s over the last month and a half or so because they had a reason to be rolling and playing new lowbie characters instead, so demand dropped? -
Quote:Perky you say?Ouroboros has been bought out by Starbucks. When this becomes public your Ouro portal will present you with a perky barista who will sell you a special inspiration that temporarily boosts your endurance recovery AND the recharge times of your powers.
The Dev team will use this opportunity to lay another easter egg as the NPC sales people with the inspirations will strongly resemble certain ladies from Questionable Content.
The Ouroboros Express was a ridiculous idea anyway. I wouldn't mourn to see it done away with at all (I like the concept of the zone, I strongly dislike it being used as a subway station). -
Then pick 3 completely useless powers you've no intention of ever using, delete them from your tray and never use them.
It's not that hard. Hell you've probably got at least 2-3 powers in your Primary and Secondary spare, take them, leave them unslotted and delete the icons from your trays. That way they stick with your concept but you don't have to use them. -
Quote:You've to make a build decision. If you really want Tough and Weave you're going to have to plan your build around it (like for example deciding they are more important to you than 6 slotted Stamina stuffed with Performance shifters for the Set Bonus and thus taking the 4 excess slots from Stamina and sticking pairs of them into Tough and Weave instead). This is awesome news, well until I really thought about it. Being that fitness will be inherent, that will allow for another pool power to be opened up right? Thats great, but how are we going to have enuff slots to slot it?
Ex. lets say my current build has Fitness, jump 1 slot, health 2 slots, stamina 5-6 slotted with performance shifters. Although fitness will be inherent I still want to keep these 9 slots in it. So lets say I respec to the inherent fitness, and pick up fighting as the extra pool power... where are my slots going to come from to put into these new powers?Because I'm gonna need at least 3 slots in tough, 3 slots in weave just to get started. There wont be any except for the 1 that comes with it when you pick the power. Or unless I pull slots from other powers to put into my new fighting pool (rob Peter to pay Paul).
Am I missing something here? Will there be more slots availible too? Or is the fitness inherent concept more for the fact that peeps can open and use it early rather than to use it to add another pool power?
Or you could take powers which don't need excess slots and use them as dummies for LOTG or something. Or just have them as nice "flavour" powers (like Recall Friend or Assault or something). Or Frankenslot some of your other powers to move slots into Fighting. -

Phantasm is "the n00b" as far as I'm concerned. Between his knockbacks and his habit of summoning a decoy at a minion while you're still spying on an enemy he's the pet version of Fusionette (without the low cut top).

Quote:Yummily. If you fire PB whilest in the middle of a group you're adding basically 3 End Mod enhancements to the mix (which ignore the ED effect). So if you've also got it 3 slotted for End Mod you're adding a total of about 190% in total to the End Drain effect (around 95% each). Blue bars disappear in large chunks as it pulses.Interesting, how well does it work with the electric control end drain powers?
If you fire PB and then Static Field it'll boost the sleep duration and the End Drain (but not the -recharge) for the first 12/13 seconds or so (PB lasts 15 seconds, Static Field takes around 2 to animate).
As Oedipus says the best way to think about it is a temporary addition of 3 SO enhancements in powers.
I didn't know how it interacted with Pseudopets until this week, makes it doubly nice for Elec Domis since things like the chain confuse will also be increased (again around 95% extra to the confuse duration). -
Quote:Frankenslot. I know some people are all about set bonuses and they are the be-all-and-end-all. Now you'll have a design / build decision to make. Will I slot that attack with 6 slots for a set bonus, or will I frankenslot it with 2 Acc/Dam and 2 Dam/Recharge and use the two slots I save elsewhere.like i said
"any other ideas besides picking powers that only need 1 slot???"""
Combined with the idea of one-slot wonder powers (which come with a slot each if you want to take something like Stealth and stick a LOTG in there) there are options available to you. -
^This.
There'd be no need for Illusion to change in any way or Domis. Just like there was no need for Illusion to get modified to support Containment when that was added.
Quote:
Containment was developed -after- the Illusion Control set came out. And it does benefit from the bonus, since your pets dish out double damage to held/sleeping/stunned/immobed targets. Further, Overpower was added in still later.
As for whatever Je Saist is talking about I dunno.
The idea that Illusion Domination would be weak because it wouldn't benefit from Domination is one of those incorrect Forum conceptions people take and run with. Quite the opposite in fact (a perma out of the box pseudopet which can stack fears, each with a 15% to hit debuff. Yes please. 3 indestructable taunting pets. Yes please ). -
Quote:Speaking of which why do all the Praetorian missions still give terribad merit rewards? Not seeing what that has to do with Geko's comment.
Things that under-reward will be under-utilized, period. He's choosing not to run it again because it under-rewards and he isn't alone there.
All the feel good jibber jabber about camaraderie and socializing is beside the point since even players who love to chat and socialize will, generally, opt to do so in the pursuit of adequate rewards for time invested.
Yeah, people will run it 'as is' for various reasons.
But many, many more would be running it if it delivered a more acceptable reward payload.
There's no morality involved, it's just Gamer Psychology 101.
They like rewards and they will ignore stuff that doesn't deliver.
I'm enjoying the arcs but every time I see "You get 1 reward merit" or "You get 2 reward merits" I die a little inside. -
My Fort is currently more like a ranged Domi, with worse ranged damage but more AOE. Her control is worse overall (especially AOE control, I've only got two long recharging PBAOEs, one of which is also a crashless nuke) but she trades it for much better defenses and buffs for the team.
My alternate Widow build is a Claws/SR scrapper/stalker (she floats somewhere between the two in terms of frontloaded damage vs sustained damage). -
Quote:Where'd you get these figures from?As mentioned, Even if it brought more people into Prae, it doesn't take long for them to get to 20 and leave. Also, it's lacking some features that established players have grown accustomed to like bases and the market among others, they have every incentive to leave and pick a side.
As Lothic said, if they add the full level range of zones to Praetoria then we'll really see how much of a draw it is.
But currently if you're looking for numbers (Unhidden):
Code:Day Date Peak Total H V P F 10/01/10 19:30 4150 2746 1325 760 Sa 10/02/10 19:45 4330 2812 1419 1010 Su 10/03/10 19:00 4389 2965 1359 928 M 10/04/10 19:00 4095 2693 1344 802
Not doubting you, just wondering if they are available freely or this was your own research using /sea? -
Quote:You also get two excellent PBAOEs as your level 32 and 38 powers both of which can put out serious damage, either directly or indirectly. Widows 32 and 38 powers are pretty much skippable. This is why SoA are so powerful. You can make it any way and it's still highly effective.
I see melee Fort as a melee Controller type. You've got decent melee and range attacks and one of the best control powers in the game in Dominate for damage and hold.
Dominate will cause redraw. One of my friends' Fort is a melee hybrid.
The main drawback is that you've more downtime on Mind Link and therefore less reliable defenses than a Widow, but that's where Set Bonuses come in. -
Quote:You only need to be near them when you trigger the power (when the animation starts). It doesn't matter if they then wander off before the green number hits, it'll still hit them. Most PBAOEs work like this, if an enemy is in range when the power starts to animate then they'll be checked to hit even if they run out of range while it's animating. While playing in Mid's today, I noticed something about the healing radii of different powers, as shared by different archetypes.

Take note of the radius on the MM's Twilight Grasp, reduced to half of that of the others. Now, this might have been done because the MM gets pets and is a mini-team unto themselves, and the dev's wanted to give them a challenge. However, I found this not to be the case. With TG's "windup" time, I can usually just hit my pet's passive mode key-bind, and they all come rushing in to get the heal by the time it hits. I then immediately put them back into guard mode or set them back to attacking whatever.
The only real problem I find with this is healing other team members, as the MM usually has to be standing almost on top of the person for it to work.
I guess the point I'm trying to make is this: In order to fix this the dev's should give Masterminds powers to control the rest of our teammates like our pets. -
Quote:I think the main reason it hasn't is simply that something has to be last. Also Fire has two pseudopets which do lots of damage, so there may be more work in porting it, or if they are going the Ice route there isn't any work but they just don't want to hand that much firepower to Defenders without thinking about it first and either making changes to other nukes, or to all the 'Rain of' blast powers first for Defenders.Probably because the thematic match of Fire Blast lacks any kind of mez power, which defender secondaries all have at least one of.
Most defender secondaries have some kind of useful debuffing side effect to leverage.
Archery is the only current defender secondary that lacks a secondary effect to speak of, and it at least gets a mez power (Stunning Shot, or Arrow, or whatever it's called, the stun)
Fire Blast has neither of those in it, it's secondary effect is more damage, which doesn't do a defender much good when they get chain mezzed because they couldn't mez the LT that's doing it first. For the AT that is most susceptible to mezzes, giving them a secondary with no way to prevent them is like saying "Here you go, have fun dying repeatedly because a mezzing enemy chain-held you"
Yes, I am aware that you can have a Fire/Thermal corruptor. I'm also aware that a mezzing enemy that you can't kill in 2 shots is a nightmare for them to fight. You get caught without a breakfree and you're pretty much screwed.
That's just my best guess at it, I have no real idea why it hasn't been proliferated yet.
As far as Sonic Resonance goes, I'm expecting either that or Cold Domination to be the next set MMs get in proliferation. -
Haven't had a look in the other 1-20 zones but I'd say Praetoria & Atlas/Kings/Steel are pretty close now. Talos is pretty full now, for obvious reasons. Haven't checked Sharks since GR launched, both of the Praetorians I've got to 20 have taken the portal to Talos.
One of my main gripes with GR and the way the zones are laid out is that the last zone is just 15-20 (16-19.999 typically in fact) so it's easily the most empty feeling zone of the three. -
I used to play on Union and Defiant, but got fed up soloing Brutes red-side and decided to mothball all the characters I'd made in 4 years playing EU side and come US side instead. Now I play pretty much exclusively on Virtue.
I'd love to be able to play on both sides of the ponds with any of the characters I've invested time in, but that's unlikely to happen any time soon given the general apathy towards resolving the issue and merging the server lists into one big happy family (it's only worthwhile if NCSoft can save money by merging the support staff and community tools it seems). -
Quote:I miss the epic crevices as well, but I do remember getting horribly confused down there as well and getting rightly stuck, back in i5 or so. Would have been a right pain of a zone for Superspeeders to be doing missions in if they hadn't flooded it.I still don't get why they had to flood Faultline. The bridges and elevators would have been enough.
Pity there wasn't some way to keep it or part of it somewhere, maybe as an "extended section" off the main flooded areas. -
Quote:Earth/Earth is a bit at odds with itself. Earth control is almost purely ranged, you don't really need to be in melee at all. You'd be better off standing back and blasting things to kingdom come as they flounder in your mez patches. Quick animating ranged attacks work well with it, as do Cones. So Fire and Ice are two good choices to go with it (Fire being the strongest damage wise by a considerable amount).looking for advice on one set over the other, just cant make up my mind.
earth/earth just feels clunky to me by the time i get all my aoe's down i could have just ran up and smashed em all already but i can also manage multiple groups at once if need be, gets more out of power boost from what i read, and well lumpy
elec/earth seems to have a setup done while rushing into combat and during, also has all the sapping benefits but seems the pets are lacking from what i read also less benefit from power boost.
i appreciate any advice in advance, thank you.
Earth Assault is possibly one of the best pairings with Elec. You can be knocking things down whilest draining them, and PB (unlike Domination) will apparently work with most of the powers, most notably Conductive Aura. I've just asked the Power Boost question myself and apparently it will also carry over to your chained confuse and Static Field, as well as Paralyzing Blast. Just make sure you fire PB off first and then the AOE mez. Then stand in amongst the mezzed enemies clobbering away and watch the blue bars drain away.
