Non Mastermind Pet Names
I call Fluffy all sorts of names when he decides to go on an aggro rampage due to being uncontrollable, but most of them are unrepeatable here
I suppose someone would call him Candyfloss after changing his colour to pink

Well, it would be nice to have Fire Imps called Snap, Crackle and Pop, but I've never gotten a Dom or Controller to 32, so I can't really comment.
There's also voltaic sentinel in the untargetable category.
I shall name him, Pet With No Nam.
The Bacon Compels You.
On my Illusion controller, I set up macros to locally say the names of my phantom army, spectral terror, and phantasm while launching the appropriate power.
I'm surprised nobody's said they'd wanna name their imps Larry, Curly, and Moe yet.
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
People have asked to be able to name non-mastermind pets for a long time and I understand why it might be fun to be able to do that if you want. Fortunately, at least for me, that has never been a high priority concern for me.
For example I tend to RP my main Fire Controller having an elitist, condescending outlook to her Imps. To her they are semi-mindless cannon fodder that are summoned at random only to hurt her enemies and sacrifice themselves to spare her any harm. I doubt she'd ever lower herself enough to grant any of them a unique name. Obviously that's just a "RP explanation" to help me avoid worrying about naming them, but it works for me until something changes.

Fire Imps: Atient, Ossible and Otent.
My mind wanders so often you've probably seen its picture on milk cartons. - Me... the first person version of the third person Steelclaw
hehe, a pun.

I have a supergroup-mate who used to refer to her Earth Control pet as "Sir Finkelberg." No, I don't know why. But she has a macro on the character in question that announces the pet's name when she summons it.
My swamp-themed dominator often refers to his Earth Control pet as "the Muckman" in team chat, which looks about right, given the colors I used on it.
"Bombarding the CoH/V fora with verbosity since January, 2006"
Djinniman, level 50 inv/fire tanker, on Victory
-and 40 others on various servers
A CoH Comic: Kid Eros in "One Light"
Back when my drunken illusion controller, Djinn Rumi, could have two Phantasms, I referred to them as "Delirium" and "Tremens". I've also been known to call his Phantom Army "the ADD Brigade", but that's not character-specific; I use "Spooky" and "Fluffy" as general names for Spectral Terror and Dark Servant, too.
The Way of the Corruptor (Arc ID 49834): Hey villains! Do something for yourself for a change--like twisting the elements to your will. All that's standing in your way are a few secret societies...and Champions of the four elements.
I do this with my Earth Controller, Lord Richter. (Although he's really from Wisconsin, he insists to everyone he meets that he's British, complete with terrible accent.) He calls his animated stone 'Earl'.
On a couple teams with some friends, we all decided to name our veteran pets. I actually can't remember my own, but I know that someone had a wisp buff pet named 'Booger', and a non-combat Mek-Man named 'Mek-Pigeon'. (That one is owned by a character named Clay Pigeon, by the way. )
Proud member of Everyday Heroes (Infinity Heroes), Dream Stalkers (Infinity Villains), Devil Never Cry (Freedom Heroes), Enclave of EVIL (Pinnacle Villains), Phobia (Infinity Villains), Les Enfant Terribles (Freedom Villains), Gravy Train (Virtue Heroes), and more!

My time-traveling defender, who spent a lot of time in the 1930's, refers to his Oscillator as "Otto Gyro."

I call my Earth Controller's pet 'Kitty Litter', of course my Controller's name is Loam.

My Dark Servant on another character gets called 'Smudge'.
In the immortal words of Socrates, "I drank what?"

My soldiers mastermind used to use names of former squadmates from my various stations.
My thugs all have nicknames that're either sharks or jets (or both), in a subtle tribute to a certain musical.
My Mind Dom has a good name for her Mu pet, which I'd really like to enable in the game.
I dont see why being able to name non-MM pets wasn't made possible years ago, to be honest. Who would it hurt? What exploit would it create? Nobody and none, so make it happen yesterday sez I.
Never a fan of "fluffy", I've called my Dark Servant "Big Boned".

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!
If I became a red name, I would be all "and what would you mere mortals like to entertain me with today, mu hu ha ha ha!" ~Arcanaville
My Dark Servant on my Dark/Dark Defender (who happens to be a mutant lobster) is Sigmund (as in the Sea Monster).
My Fire/Dark Corruptor, who is part of a Fire/Dark Duo has Thing 1 and her partner has Thing 2 (actually, the names depend on who gets theirs summoned first).
My Ice/Rad Controller has Frosty the Snowpwn
If I ever get around to playing my Earth/Thermal Controller on one of my off servers, his pet will be Pwnhenge.
My Plants/Energy Dominator calls his Fortunata pet Kandi.
Black-Spy took the Clockwork non-combat pet and called it Jaffee.
And when my Warshade has her Extracted Essences out, they are Slurp and Blurp.
I'd call my Singularity "Gravitic Lens Effect" if I could. Of course, for the full effect, I'd have to be able to give the Grav/Rad troller in question a really fluffy black costume to match it, since the idea is that it'd just be a second perception of himself, because he's a black hole... literally a Singularity himself, behind the event horizon he visually shapes to be humanoid.
I really, really want to be able to do this... as well as minor color-changes like we can do with standard models in AE. That would make life so much easier for Patron pet owners and the people who run with them.
My favorite Stalker, Grey Kestrel, has an Adept companion that's been mistaken for an enemy more times than I care to count. It happens just about every time we go after Arachnos. Team-mates see him drift by out of the corner of their eye, don't notice the green name and try to target him because, hey, he looks exactly like those Mu who are trying so hard to zark the crap out of us... usually resulting in a "Dammit, Cardinal! Stop DOING that!" over team-chat.
If I could just alter the shade of poor Cardinal's outfit a little... add a contrasting color that standard Adepts don't have... SOMETHING to make him more distinct... But, alas.
Being able to use Edison and Oppenheimer's names (My gadgeteer trick arrow defender's clockwork pets-) would be fun, too. Likewise, Bloo (Khalanis' dark servant-).
@Brightfires - @Talisander
That chick what plays the bird-things...
I've always wanted to name my imps or other pets like Masterminds can. I constantly refer to them by the names I give them, and wondered if anyone else did this. Here are some examples.
Fire Imps - Sasha, Babbette, Francois
Dark Servant - Mr. Fuzzykins
Animated Stone - Crapface
Jack Frost - Well...Jack...
I even refer to pet type things that can't be targetted, like
Lightning Storm - Nimbus
Tornado - Swirly
Spirit Shark/Spirit Shark Jaws - Bruce
School of Sharks - School of Bruces (or Bruci)
My whole supergroup has started to use these terms, and we're even considering making Bruce our mascot. Just an example of how I keep the game personalized, even if it's only in my own mind.
