  1. I went with Claws/Elec myself. The extra recharge from Lightning Reflexes will be nice, especially on top of Hasten and the unlimited Blue Bar. Other than that there's not a lot of synergy really, Lightning Field gives you even more PBAOE damage which is nice and Shockwaves knockback won't much of an issue as it would be for WP or Invun (in fact it'll be a bit of a lifesaver I reckon).

I do have a Claws/WP scrapper and they're pretty excellent too. Again not a huge amount of real synergy, and you'll need to be a bit cleverer with your Knockback, but the lack of clickies in WP helps you focus on Slicing and Dicing without worrying about clicking a Heal or clicky mez protection, and Quick Recovery means you don't really worry about End (I did take the Fitness pool too, WP and the Fitness pool go very well together).

Hmmm, IE7 should be fine though. I was just wondering if you were stuck with IE6 in work and that was causing it (I have to allow for IE6 still when writing stuff, although I've now put my foot down when it comes to any bugs that are due to it rather than any sort of error on my end).

What browser are you using? Someone made a decent Firefox CSS file which improves the blue colours used on the site, which I then nicked and tweaked for my Opera browser. The actual, official colours are indeed horrible, and make it fairly difficult to read.

The forum software works like a dream for me though, I'd guess your work connection set-up might be causing problems with it.
  5. Dunno about Atlas but my Brutes had teams all weekend. Including the level 15 one in Cap Au yesterday morning which never saw the inside of the AE building at all (actually that's a lie. I ducked in there to load up on Purple Insps for a hard as nails Arachnos mission we were being slaughtered in repeatedly). That was on Union

Yep, our pond just got bigger is all. I quite like my new watery abode, the EU boards were getting fairly content-light and dull recently. Bigger pond means more questions and posts, which are a good thing.

(haven't had anyone offer me a one-night stand yet though. I dunno what sections of the boards you're inhabiting to get them Blue )

    Level 50 Snobs

See now im not sure whether i fall into the level 50 snobs bracket either since on my 50s im 99% certain i would say no to a random PUG asking me to exemp down. Not because of the fact that i would lose my powers, but when i play my level 50s i expect the chance to earn a higher rate of reward than my lower levels. Ok saying it like that does sound snobbish.
I don't tend to Exemp down with my 50s ever really. Why bother when it's pretty certain I'll have an alt around the actual level of the team I can switch to instead, that way they'll be progressing and gaining XP. Plus chances are if it's a PuG I'll make a few friends around his/her level for future team-ups.

Nothing to do with "snobbery". Just seems more practical to me to pick a char of about the same level instead.

What we need, and what you need to get it.

to get 100% xp you need groups of,

    Minions hard/hard
    Luitenants hard/hard
    Bosses hard/hard

I want the highest xp for my lowbie as possible, so I set my missions for +4's and 8man.

So this now leaves us with the question, what power sets would be the easiest to overcome.

I have tested, a few... most effective so far being

AssaultRifle / Fire Assult, no build up, no aim, no rage or extra accuracy.

Spec your toon for Ranged defense, and mobs with all ranged attacks miss the majority of the time, however getting tight groups is a pain in the bumski.

    Anyone got further than this?
Why not just use an SO slotted Spines/Elec scrapper with Fireball, make the enemies all Mu and just go to town?

Or a Claws/Fire/Mu or Fire/Fire/Mu Brute, choose standard Fire wielding enemies? Or make Custom Fire Blast/Fire Melee ones for each tier? No need to slot for Ranged Defense at all really.

Yep, I logged the same issue last night too, makes sense that it might be a server times issue too.
  10. I got this last night, sorta!

Actually the level 50 Thermal who healed & buffed my struggling level 11 Claws/Elec was fine, his buffs were great. That big n00b of a Mu Guardian pet had with him though. Damn killstealer. I tried to send it a tell and all but it just ignored me

I'd quite like a "Start at 20" option for alts as a Vet Reward, but that's about it. No further really.

Heat Death is coming. Repent now.

You can BUY a Raptor pack in-game for 10,000 inf off a vendor in Grandville.

I was only pointed in his direction a few weeks ago. He's basically between the ferry and Lord Reclueless's house.

Send a mail to CoHForums@ncsoft.com asking them to change it and it should disappear.

Carnifax was a pseudo-random name made up when I was staring at the Character Name screen for my Illusion/Stormie main. I say pseudo-random because I used to play Tyranids in Warhammer 40k and came within 1 vowel of unconciously infringing their copyright. It fits a tiny demon character pretty well though.

Truth: Portal Corporation stated that the "portals collapsed", and while Statesman was able to gather the manpower to assault the Rogue Isles, and Nemesis was able to assault the Rikti Homeworld, Portal Corporation was never able to find out the fate of Hero One, even though Rikti have defected. How is it that Nemesis can develop a portal to the Rikti Homeworld, but Portal Corp is unable to insert a few operatives to find out the fate of Hero One?
Wait, I know the fate of Hero One. Technically I suppose you could say he fell to "enemy action". Eventually.

Hmmm. Can't see that working. "Oh I seem to have contracted the Vashok Plague". *switches build* "Ah, that's better. No flies on me mate".

Dark isn't Kin. This is one of the best things about it. Kin is horrible to play. Dark is easily my favourite Support set to play. So many toys!

Storm ranks up there too, my main learned how to use it the hard way. Any time my Illusion/Stormie comes across a spawn in a small room it makes my heart sing! I'd be tempted to Go Rogue with her just for the fun of Illusion/Storm + Mayhem Missions. You want mayhem? You got it!

And no being forced to run an arc just to be able to use them.
It's true there's less choice. But you can get Gloom & Darkest Night, plus an AOE from Dark (yum), or an AOE immob (which stops knockback), an AOE and another cone power in Mu. Coupled with Shockwave & Spin those 3 should be pretty damn potent. Plus Mu means more End Draining which may be handy. Scrapper & Tank Pool Powers seem pretty unimpressive, or a bit late in coming compared to Brute ones.

Follow-Up seems skippable on a Brute to me. The small extra damage bonus doesn't seem worth it considering I'll have Fury up high most of the time. I don't see much of a need for Taunt either considering the AOEs I have.

For my Claws/ELA, I'm taking every power from both sets, and filling the gaps with Swift/Health/Stamina from Fitness, Combat Jumping from Leaping, and Hasten and Super Speed from Speed. The 10k Raptor Pack in Grandville will be my primary means of travel. That's nice, because it means I can grab Health at 14 now, and not have to worry about a travel power.
Good idea with the Raptor Pack. I'll be picking up SS, since Hasten is a given with this build anyway. I'll be doing the multiple respec trick to respec Stamina in at 22 and then getting rid of the Fitness Pool entirely at 37 (22 and 37 also let me get a refund on any DOs/SOs I may not want then). Energise & Power Sink should be enough to keep me going, hopefully.

I'll be bolstering my defenses with the Fighting Pool, speccing it in during the level 37 respec. Weave I'm not too worried about so I have that as my level 49 power, although I might take Mu Lightning instead for a second ranged attack. Do Boxing & Kick both cause redraw? I'm guessing they do, which is a bit of a nuisance.

Here's my planned SO build (hurrah for up to date Sucker Punch).

I'd consider that a pretty effective defense, compared to the way they used to be able to attack anywhere they chose during the war.
Yeah. I mean remember the bad old days when there was swarms of Rikti in Founders Falls, loitering around and robbing old ladies. Thank god those days are over! Nice to have them gone out of PI and Creys Folly too...

    Boys and girls

I play both, although the ratio is leaning towards boys. But I've a lot of 4 foot high Huge characters, they amuse me. Most of them tend to be robots though, so I dunno if they count as boys or girls. However my two 50s are both female (and titchy as well).

My newest alt (well second newest as I made a Sea Urchin yesterday to join a themed team. Yes, he's a tiny Huge again...) is a female ex-Freakshow Claws/Elec. For once she's a normal height!
  24. Looks like the RWZ Dummies need a bit of Taunting later to see if ones Fury & Damage Bonus goes up.

    I love those guys.

Given that the one you lists says "infected explosion" and the Parent Power description is "Suicide Special. Self-destruct Infected." I'm pretty sure that's the listing for the Temp Power from Dr Creeds mission. The Parent Power has a recharge of 10 seconds as well, so it's not the Cyber Self-destruct. Snake-B-Gone is listed in the same section. All Temp Powers seem to plop into here.

Can't find the Cyber self-destruct in that list at all though.

*Edit : Ah ha. I think this is it. In a different section for some reason. No idea why. Does 520 damage according to that. Hmmm. Almost tempting for my Stone/Fire Brute...
