Boys and girls

There are male and female characters in game... I noticed
Really...

Usually I have some clue, who is really girl behind female character and who is dude. Not all the time but mostly. I'm noticed that boys makes more female characters than girls male characters. Actually Im never heard any girl who plays male character. Sometimes I'm asked for that and they not feel comfortable to play males. Still it works other ways.

Usually I make only males or some creatures like robots or monsters. I have a few female and actually I could play females, but still almost every new character is male. I have couple of friends who makes mostly females.

What you think about it?
Do you like to play more female or male and why?

I play male only characters. Though one time, for a laugh me and this girl i know ingame both made toons of the opposite sex to see how many people we could convince that we were that gender [we were bored and it was for a laugh].

I play both, although the ratio is leaning towards boys. But I've a lot of 4 foot high Huge characters, they amuse me. Most of them tend to be robots though, so I dunno if they count as boys or girls. However my two 50s are both female (and titchy as well).

My newest alt (well second newest as I made a Sea Urchin yesterday to join a themed team. Yes, he's a tiny Huge again...) is a female ex-Freakshow Claws/Elec. For once she's a normal height!

I play only females. I just cannot feel a connetion to male characters in the same way i do for female ones. And if i cannot connect with the character i don't enjoy it so much.

For singleplayer games tho, like Prince of Persia etc it doesn't matter cause the character is part of the story and not mine. But for MMOs i will always make a female char, and the appearance of the char is very important. I could for examle not play horde in WoW until they released blood elves.

I never thought that the Euro crowd would be so uptight about toon gender

my toons run about 75% male and 25% female, and I feel a connection to both

must be a side effect of wanting to write superhero comics as a lad

All male toons, I've tried female characters but it didn't feel right.
A lot of people say, 'would you rather look at a mans backside all day or a woman's?'
I couldn't care less, as its not real. And at the end of the day, I'm looking at what I'm doing with that character (attacking, what enemy to attack next,
etc) not the actual character itself.

Oh Sapphic Neco tauren girls are so big and gentle
Never trust person without tail. But I understand your point.

Usually I want something humourous aspect to my characters and for some reason males feels more comical.

The only thing i liked with tauren girls were their voice. Which actually was enough to manage to play one to 60.

Over two accounts I play roughly 45% male, 50% female and 5% huge. I do know of one female gamer that occasionally re- subs in between uni, who plays a mix of toon genders.

I play both, with the current roster having more females. (Although as alts get deleted and new ones made, that changes over time.)

50s are an even split...but due to chronic altitis that only means 2 male and 2 female

I have more females than males on both accounts, plus one char that's actually two people, a bloke and the female heroine trapped inside him (Yay Science Pack). o.O

[EDIT] Yes, I'm a guy.

All my toons start out as a concept idea, mostly that concept has a gender attached to it. To this date they have been fairly even devided between both sexes.

WHOOOOOOOSSSHHH!!!

I like sweeping generalisations, they make the most awesome sound effect as they rush by.

I don't think we're uptight in the slightest. Some prefer male, some prefer female. Each players' reasoning is their own. If a character pops into mind and a gender fits, that's what I go with. Male, female, android, gynoid, animal, mineral, robot or vegetable, it's all part of the fun of creating the character. I hit about a 50/50 split on mine.

I have three female characters, the other countless are male/robots/creatures. Like TrueMetal it depends on the concept, and the costume pieces.

Much like Mereman I too swing both ways (game-wise that is): 60%-30% male to female ratio.

Strangely, people always seem to think I'm a girl... go figure.

PS - the reminder 10% are asexual... silly me, forgot to factor those in.

Some of females are so clearly guys. Well... you know why

Sometimes its easy to say, who is really girl player. They have cute animegirls or good sense of colours of costumes.

If you Blue Rabbit make female characters with good sense of style, perhaps that explains why they think you are girl.

A mix of both, tis all about the concept of the character for me.

Most of mine are female. Except the one for my Forum Handle. Which was more a thing of he seemed like a good spokesperson at the time (I was in a rp mood then).

Couldn't say exactly what the ratio of male/female toons is on my account. It's all about the concept - I'll come up with a basic background to my toon and a powerset concept then the sex of the toon more or less writes itself.

I only play female toons, have made a few male toons but I am more comfy in playing a female toon. I do know a few ladys who play male toons though

I made a rather extensive study of this.

Yes, men are more likely to make female characters than women making male characters. There are a number of reasons for this. However, I know several women who do make male characters. The reason you don't think there are any women playing men is that they are generally better at it than men are at playing women.

A (female) friend of mine used to hate playing men, and now rather likes it. I think it's a matter of confidence. Women don't think they can play men well, so don't. Men think they can play women well, and usually can't.

I generally create a character with the sex that feels right for the character concept. I am pretty good at playing women (maybe better than I am at playing me ), so I don't have a problem either way. If I have no intention of roleplaying a character, it may well turn out female because the costume options are better.

I think I currently have more female CoX characters than male ones, but it does depend on what I've deleted and created at any given time. My first 50 was a male, the second one was female. Both have been extensively roleplayed. My LotRO character sheet is mostly male, the WoW list is fairly heavily female.
