I assume this patch is the last update from test, so it should include the Hamidon/LGTF green mito fix.
EDIT: Or not. The patch notes are up now, and no mention of the Green Mitos. -
Another possibilility is that after playing the same game for 5 years you are just bored. It could be that it doesn't matter what changes are made to the game content, you'd still be bored.

I don't care about the Cathedral of Pain. It doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

I'd like to see some similar data for other 6 year old MMOs so I have something to compare against. For all we know this is the best financial data for a 6 year old MMO in recorded history... or the worst.

Could it be that he was an accidental leak of Going Rogue stuff, so they removed him with the latest patch?

Quote:Things may be different than the last time you were here, but you should try out some new behaviors before you give up. I'm not sure how long you were gone, but one of the main changes is that much more of the teaming activity happens on global channels now than ever before.Ok I have return to CoH but have found it very empty with few people on or willing to team up.
So here's my question what's the best time to play, what lvl character should I use, ( I have a wide ish range to choose)
Or have I wasted my time and money returning to CoH and should maybe find another MMORGP?
You should have down to the specific server forum for your server (or just give your server name here) and people will be able to tell you what the most popular global channels are for your server. Once you've joined the global channels you can decide whether you still think it's "dead".
Oh, and welcome back. -
They are still working on the markets on test, they just took them down (on test) for more work. Once they are working on test, we should see a patch to the main servers the next day (or the next maintenance).

The story arc limit was always confusing and bizarre, so if they got rid of it, good for them!

My mind/psi dom's flawed clone was a SS(I think)/Elec brute. He managed to distract Ajax quite nicely.
-
I've been a fan of the Hawks since they started up, and he's the best player I have ever seen play for them, just slightly ahead of Cortez Kennedy. He'll be missed.

The VEAT arc(s) pretty much avoid the lackey factor, in my opinion.

Quote:This. The Hero Arcs are great, but in my opinion the Villain arcs blow them out of the water. They are, by far, my favourite content in the game, ever.
Hero side arcs: thumbs up
Villain side arcs: two thumbs up
I especially like how in the villain arcs you really feel like a villain who's trying to make his own plans and work things to his advantage. Very nice writing. -
Oh, and as for i17, I found the new arcs to be quite interesting and full of new stuff, which makes me hopeful for the GR content.

Quote:I am going to operate under the assumption that it's a bug of some sort until someone says otherwise.Like the new graphics and they perform fine on my 9800+ GTX. Even did a RWZ raid tonight and it handled just fine.
Hate... hate... HATE the way they screwed up how enhancements look, especially in the enhancement/respec screen on a widescreen monitor. Everything is smashed into ovals with really tiny numbers. For absolutely no good reason or benefit that I can discern. -
I also predict a price spike due to lowered supply because of increased hoarding.

I don't run a lot of TFs or anything, so I don't earn all that many merits. I am basically indifferent to them.
Awhile back, I decided I wanted to be able to play around with IOs, so I learned how to use the market to make money. Now, with a little patience, I can buy most anything I want. I don't really feel any need for merits. -
In my opinion, the red side content is generally better organized, written and put together, so I am willing to tolerate fewer merits.

All my favorite women are villains at heart.

Quote:Just because something is popular doesn't make it bad either. As mentioned above, a person who is not doing something because it's popular is being driven by the crowd just as much as a person who is doing something because it is popular.Just because something is popular does not make it good. It just speaks to the moment . When I was a kid I found the 3 Stooges funny , now not so much . But there popularity is proably about the same . As for not following the crowd I think it's smart , remember lemmings.
Also, I wish people would get off the sheeple bandwagon. It's the sort of word that makes me immediately think that the person using it is going to be an annoying putz. -
Quote:Tartikoss can be run at under 45 minutes with minimal effort. We've done it in 20 minutes before, admittedly with stealthing and teleporting.Excepting Posi and Synapse, my experience has quite firmly been with SFs not being noticeably shorter than TFs - certainly not to the extent their merit rewards would suggest. I've done the LRSF a half dozen times, and not once have I even come close to the slightly-more-than-an-hour that its 25 merits suggests. Three hours is much more typical.
My Tarkoss runs have been around 90 minutes, Barracuda tends to be around 3 hours, and the last Mistral I did was about two. The only SF I've seen that even comes close to the right length for merits is Silver Mantis, which is probably why I'm sick of running it because we've done it so much.
While we're an RP VG, we're not slouches in play - at least two of my main characters can solo AVs and x8 content, and we've got similar power builds running with us too - and I simply cannot fathom how these merit rewards got set; SFs just aren't that much faster.
Their only bonus is being far less annoying than TFs in that they're pretty much in the same zone, but that can be said in general for all redside content. -
I almost never drop missions unless they are bugged. I like challenges, so I enjoy the occasional hard mission. If I am short on time, I will drop the Wincott mission or similar missions with a lot of travel time and no payoff. Other than that, I can go weeks without dropping a mission.

For me, it's a combination of a concept in my head and picking a power set that I haven't used before. Once I get both a concept and a power set, I am ready to go.
