Since it's been asked, and it's usually opinion based!
Cold Domination!
Those Ice Shields just help protect your team, that much.
Then add in your debuffs, and go!
Radiation is nice, but I find with a lot of teams, they don't keep all the enemies in the toggle ranges, which is what keeps the team as a whole safer.
Cold by passes that by saying "Shield Up".
Cold just as good at debuffing (if not better) AVs.
RAD does has a few tricks Cold doesn't. +RCH for one, but in general, I find Cold Domination to be the best (And one of the most underused) Corr Sets (or buff/debuff sets period). -

'That Fantasy MMO'
And yes, it is an absolutely evil placeĀ
As for the character being royalty, I have decided to drop that from my main (currently main) character. Instead, I think the characters that I will create (that are related to this story) are really that planet's surviving super heroes. -
Quote:Not easy to softcap, or just not cheap? There is a difference. I don't find it that hard to softcap. It doesn't suck, but it certainly isn't the best contender due to it being relatively difficult to soft cap (not impossible, though) and it having no +Regen, +Dam, +Rech or a quickly recharging heal.
I think Invuln is great in the damage mitigation department, but it could be slightly better in either damage recovery or offense. I have no idea how I'd do this, though... Maybe slight +Regen in Dull Pain like Energize has? Or then plug unenhanceable +Regen into the passives, but that might make them too powerful.
Then again, I think Invuln is pretty much fine as it is, but who wouldn't love some more power?
It's additional offense is the +ToHit with Invincibility. You miss less, that means more offense. -
Maybe it's just that I'm so much of a Scrapper player but...tab, follow, attack

Truthfully, with GR around the corner, or if you really don't care what side you play on now...for Radiation Emission, I'd say go Corruptor anyways.
Why?
Radiate Aura, Radiation Infection, Accelerate Metabolism, Evervating Field, and Lingering Radiation are really all the powers you need from Radiation Emission. the other powers are just not needed or cool to have.
Radiation Emission gets all those powers pretty early in the career. So, this allows you to have Blasts, and your wanted Debuffs/Buffs at good times.
With defenders using Radiation Emission, you can feel the crunch when exemped on the lack of attacks. At least this is how it is in my experience, when I was taking almost every attack on my RAD/DP Defender, and feeling like I have no attacks when I exemp for Posi TF for example.
Different feeling on /RAD Corrs.
Now, for something like Cold Domination (which I consider the best team BUFF AND DEBUFF set), going the Defender route and getting those nice debuffs is a different story (in my opinion). -
Have no travel power, as Ninja Run has fullfilled the rooftop runner concept perfectly (I used to use Super Jump for that part, but it always felt to Hulk/Pitt style of jumping instead of the Nightwing/DareDevil style of running rooftop to rooftop).
So currently, have Leadership (is the leadership type), Fitness, Fighting, and my goal is to grab 2 Epic powers, all of WP (Resurgence just goes with the immortal feel/reboot of systems feel)...so able to take an extreme beating.
Hasten I like, as it gives off a quick reflexes feeling as well (not a super speedster, but quick enough reflexes to deal with one), but I can always do without Hasten.
So that leaves 1-2 powers (2 if I forgo Hasten). And you need 2 powers to get ahold of a single target blast.
I'm basically still fiddling with the concept, trying to fit in all needed powers. On my DB/WP I wasn't above just grabbing a power, and leaving it 1 slotted, just so I could have it (Typhoon's Edge, has that twisty, jumpy, agile feel to it, so I grabbed it just for that reason) and I've used slotted Fire Blast on a DBer, who was able to BF-AV, when in normal missions, just because it fit the concept.
But on this one...hmmm...it's been a little tougher...so was seeing if I could do all I like to do and get by without BU. -
Just people trying to cause problems, likely because Shield Charge is getting it's damage lowered, so it doesn't outshine every nuke in the game.
-
Well, lets be fair, Sam.
Yes, Hurdle + SS + CJ = 3 Power Picks, but you were likely to pick 2 of them to begin with, when you decided you wanted to go SS as a travel power (ie Speed Pool and Fitness Pool).
Personally, I'd still rather see Ninja Run stack with (and thusly not de-toggle) Combat Jumping. -
Quote:This is true. I guess it's just in my playstyle that I prefered to keep it on auto and goThere's no law saying you have to put it on autofire. If you hit it when it's recharged and you have a second to spare (like before the fight) it'll never interrupt a combo, and if you forgot to hit it there's a ten-second warning with the flashing icon, plenty of time to finish your combo.
SR is about as clicky as Invul. Less so, if you're using Dull Pain as a heal rather than preemptively.

Quote:This. I'd prefere to just seem them become even more of a ST killer. Yes, this would help the AOE sets as well, but put them up there! Give em Scrapper DMG mod and Scrapper DMG Buff Mods...then let them get on a team and crit like mad!As for the deal with the AoE-centric nature of the game, that's not something I'm even trying to address with this thread - it's far beyond the scope of anything short of COH2. Instead, I was leaning towards making their single-target specialist nature of such an absurd degree that it stands out above the alternatives and provides rapid enough killing of those single targets that they can move on and get several in quick succession to simulate AoE damage.
-
Well, I was thinking this in more of a PvE stance, as I know it's good in PvP. But I was looking to drop a power for a concept build and thinking that may be the power to drop.
-
Well, if you want to build a blaster, I was actually quite fond of my DP/MM blaster. The problem was, that I found the only Epic to make it feel tough was the Ice Epic, and the Ice Epic just didn't go well with my concept. :/
That said, you want to go with a Scrapper, they're all good. Want lots of AOE with some punch? Fire Melee! ST and AOE punch, then IO out the defense set for better defenses, my suggestion...Willpower! But then, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Willpower. -
Quote:Regen = lots of redraw for a primary that redraw can cost you on the combo.Hi all,
What would work best with Dual Blades? I haven't played hero-side since CoV came out so I'm absolutely in the dark as to how scrapper secondaries perform and what meshes with what.
Inv = 1 clickie that isn't to bad.
DA = 1 clickie that can be used a little to often, but not to bad.
FA = 1 clickie that will be used alot.
SR = 1 click that like FA will be used quite a bit. You want that mez protection, and in end builds, it tends to have a pretty fast recharge, but not as bad as say Regen or FA, or even DA.
WP = 1 clickie, you'll usually want to use before the fight.
Elec = 2 clickies that you'll likely want to use often.
My suggestion...WP or INV.
And this doesn't count the end crashing tier 9s. -
The new Robin outfit, with the leggings, is just better looking. All there is to it.
-
...how much does it increase one's DPS?
My AV soloer has been a Dual Blades/WP, so of course, I don't have access to Build Up.
In normal missioning, I've found Build Up to be nice, but hardly mandatory, usually holding off to level 30 to pick it up, and even then I've never clicked it as soon as it was recharged to keep the damage at peak.
So, how much of a difference does it make for things like AV and Pylon soloing? -
Quote:Heh, see, I love them allYeah, that would be silly. You can't really do a "simple" set of animations with the current animation times. Ah well...
I don't mind some movement, but the spinning around annoys me. I never got the obsession with Equilibrium. To me, the epitome of dual pistols is Chow Yun Fat in John Woo films (A Better Tomorrow etc). And while there is a lot of movement in those films, it's not so much "on the spot" in the way the current DP animations are. Unfortunately, there's not really any other way to have movement in game, leaping to the side guns blazing doesn't work with the way CoH does powers.
Oh, and don't get me started on Bullet Rain aka Attack of the Killer Bees....
And once I figure out how to replicate WP for a Blaster, Defender or Corr (and be happy with the build). I'll be set!

I'd have to know more about your concept to help. Looking at your build, are you not using Teleport for travel?
Wraith, I'd generally think take Hover as well. But you have Hurdle. -
Quote:Well could be along the lines of I want to use a sword...Back in those days we also didn't realize that animation time has a substantial effect on your overall damage dealing capabilities so people only really looked at the big fancy numbers flying over their enemies' heads. BS's only real niche has, and likely always will be, burst damage, though it's only burst from individual hits: you can actually get more damage in roughly the same short time period with other sets thanks to having higher DPA variance amongst attacks. What's worse is that Kat actually maintains higher AoE damage (that free DoT in Lotus Drops isn't in Whirling Sword, Flashing Steel's lower cycle time and animation time consumption allows it to completely outshine Slice) along with better ST damage. I can't really think of a numerical reason to play BS rather than Kat unless you're specifically going for a Shield build (and "can be used with Shield" shouldn't be a reason for a set to be weaker).
PvP = Broadsword
PvE = Katana -
Quote:Buffing will only really be bad, when on a team. Buffing all those pets and the players (which should get priority over the pets), just feels like you're just buffing and that's it.I'll look at FF if I do Thugs for sure. See how transparent I can get them to look. I hate buffing tho but I'm a slave to concept.

I'd also for sure take some of the attacks to feel like you're doing more than just that as well. -
Quote:Last I knew, was if you slotted a performance shifter +END proc in one of the electrical powers, it gave the enemy back end, not you.I've been tinkering with the idea of an elec/nin stalker. Figured I'd ask these questions here because elec/ is a shared set and the scrapper forums are more active. Mainly I'm wondering how procs function when slotted in the various powers.
1. The melee attacks can all take recovery set IOs. Does the performance shifter proc function properly in melee attacks? Does it have a chance to grant you endurance, or is it borked and it gives end to mobs?
2. If a proc is slotted into Chain Induction does it only go off on the initial target, or does it have a chance to proc on successful jumps? -
Quote:Force Fields. It's all about probability. And of course, you using IOs to stack the probability in your favor.Looking at all of the awesome (but old) Probability Manipulation powerset ideas in the Suggestion forms makes me sad. I'd love to see one of those some day. I know you can get away with some current powers and I plan to, but I'd love to see a dedicated powerset at some point. Somewhere between Empathy/Rad Debuffs/SR Buffs. /swoon
I guess I'm in between DP/Rad Corr or Mace (or DB)/SR Brute. He's based on a playing card theme. I'd strongly consider Thugs if there were some /rad or another decent probability feeling power for MMs.

Will GR break CoX? Nope. I don't see GR killing off much of CoX's current player base.
The question really is, will GR bring in a sizeable new chunk of players. That will be wait and see time. -
Quote:I'd say for many players, just standing in place, and pointing the pistol, would be boring. My problem is that it look stupid. I want to shoot people, not dance...
Though with that said, I'm perfectly okay with BABs adding in an animation that has you stand their, lift both pistols and look as if you're taking your time to aim, and then firing. I just think it would get little use, because people who say stuff like "I'm doing nothing for that whole animation".
I love the animations. It's a blast set I dont feel like I'm just standing around repeating the same animation for many of the attacks. It looks like you're dodging alot of the times.
