And let me be the first to rain on the parade: I hope there is an option in the graphics settings to turn off custom power FX and just show the standard ones.
Two reasons: I know I'm not the only one who won't care for pink dark melee and what not, and there are still a lot of people on slow connections who won't enjoy the increased lag from the extra data that will be sent to them when someone uses a customized power.

That's not raining on the parade Laz, that is a valid point for a lot of users, I wouldn'tbe surprised if they have worked up an option in graphics settings -
I find this page invaluable when I'm working out a build, it breaks down the sets in what gives what bonus and how much:
IO Set by category -
All i care about is if Defenders will get it as a Secondary!!
My "the Shadow" tribute is dying to be made. -
Personally I'd like to see AE shut down for.. ahem... Maintenance during double XP.. I'd get a laugh at all the "you mean I need to go OUTSIDE??" comments.
-
Also don't GET killed before 5 minutes is up- that will reset the timer as well. It's an assinine setup that makes NO sense.
I'm really tempted to rip out the full set of Gladiator's Fury I have in my tank and sell them, and be set money-wise till the servers close! -
Present designation: I
Future location: Will Be Back -
Immediately after a new release is always shaky on server stability. Give it a week or so and a few more patches and it should be fine- It's normal for any big patch like an issue to take a bit to stabilize.

I have a lvl 27 Stone/Stone right now. I was in the camp of "I hate playing in slow-motion" but I decided to try it. I actually started building an IO build for speed, and it's working out pretty well! Between Movement bonuses and Running Speed bonuses I have him pretty fast even with Rooted on, and a lot of the sets are cheap (KB sets like Kin Crash). His survivability is already damn tough.. so try it, you might like it. BTW, yeah, I broke down and chose TP as my travel power- word of advice.. turn Rooted OFF before TPing into mid-air. Otherwise you drop like a.. well..STONE

i'm surprised there aren't any bids on them yet

The reason is they haven't even created placeholder graphics for them, I left the market up for a good 30 minutes clicked on a salvage piece and it still said searching. So I guess just the names slipped through the net. -
Exactly. There hasn't been one "major" TF/SF that hasn't needed tweaking after it went live. Remember the RSF with the lvl 54 PF? Or how insane the new Hami was when it first rolled out? Give it a week to work out all the live bugs, and people will start formulating strategies to take him out. And NO, certain ATs aren't required- though just like everything else, some make it easier.

I figured this topic was in respect to going rogue.
As in...
What makes a dominator more preferable to a controller when you can pick?
[/ QUOTE ]
Best picture would be this- most controllers stay on the edge of a scrum, locking down threats either by direct control or debuffs from their secondary. On a team they aren't concerned with killing, (though they certainly can!) just locking down the threats so OTHERS can take them out.
A Dom will be standing shoulder to shoulder with scrappers dishing out damage galore. They toss out their controls just long enough to destroy their targets THEMSELVES on a team. Imagine a Dom as a Scrapper whose "armor" is their controls.
If you have a team that's low on damage.. a Dom might be better, also if you just like seeing an insane amount of damage being tossed around. -

How else are we going to craft the new Praetorian recipes that only work in Praetorian world?
[/ QUOTE ]
Makes sense. We will be living in a Praetorian world, and we are Praetorian girls!
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you trying to tempt me into making a full-version parody of that?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, Yes we are! You must make one. -
heres a pic of the choices.. looks like there are a lot of Androids in Tyrant-land Praetorian Salvage
-
I would imagine that at the LEAST infamy would be converted to Influence at a very FUBARed rate (like 100:1 or higher) and visa versa. accolades would only be a problem of switching titles. What I'm curious about is will there be a whole NEw form of currency for Praetoria? That would bring it to what, SIX different seperate currencies?

LR does not suppress hide.. so a good chain is BU+LR and then Thunderstrike. Caltrops WILL break Hide however.

While this is prime example of intolerance (sorry "wrong is wrong no matter what you say" IS intolerance when we are talking about subjects other then say murder)- I will answer in this game's Terms.
OP- this is a game based on Comics. Do you have any idea how often that medium blurs the gender line? Even ignoring shapeshifters etc. the concept of "cross-dressing" as defined by the OP has been around since 1940!!!!
The original Red Tornado was actually a woman dressed as a male hero. Ma Hunkel was created in 1939 in All American Comics and in 1940 donned the Red Tornado (as a MAN) to fight crime because her son adored Green Lantern. There were no mobs in the street demanding the characters removal then.
Jump to current day.. the 2 best comic examples is Sasquatch (who went from male to female and back to male) and the current incarnation of Loki in Thor was female now male. Would you punish your children for reading these issues?
By the OP's definition, all the games that allow you to play female characters should be rated M because young boys can play them and may get "confused" about their sexuality because games are SOO influential to a young person's sexual identity. What a joke.

Dig a little deper in the articles and you find one on InFamous.. but she also highlights CoH/CoV AND Going Rogue!
Good or Evil? -
Heard a new one last night during 1 of Tech Naylor's arcs- said by longbow to a Nemesis minion:
"You know, if you weren't so heavily armed, I couldn't possibly take you seriously!" -

The problem with proliferation is that in order to avoid the "waah waah" crew, you have to proliferate something to every AT out there. Last round Master Minds would not stop complaining that they didn't get a new primary. They sort of missed the point that proliferation was not making new stuff, but they didn't mind.
So until they find the time/theme to come up with the missing gaps, it would be wise to not do it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Whining will happen regardless. I believe it was Castle that said a while back that there isn't a lot more to proliferate so some AT's may not get a lot and the next round wouldn't be as big as the first. They really need something, I15 is a huge disappointment to a lot, and some proliferation would go a long way to placate people. -

Weren't we supposed to get more than just one round of proliferation? Seems like it's been quite a while since we heard anything about it.

Check the dev digest. There's a post by BABs on the subject. IIRC he says pretty much what people have been guessing, that they've just been too busy and it'll be a while before they can get back to it.

Which honestly.. is a crock. Several sets can be easily ported to different ATs, like Thermal/Fire Blast for Defenders, Sonic for MMS, Broadsword for Brutes and Energy Melee or the Electric sets for scrappers. These would probably require the least work. As much as I love the upcoming stuff.. we need something to make both sides fresh Now. -
Electric Armor is definitely HARD mode for stalkers. I love it, but definitely would not recommend it as a casual project.
If your concept is a malfunctioning robot.. go Brute. -
Super Strength or Electric Melee for your primary. SS is the quintessential Brute Primary.. you get Rage and also you get Knockout Blow at level 8!!!! Plus Footstomp is almost Too good.
Electric is decent AoE and is great for keeping Rage built with all the "splash" damage being tossed around.
For your Secondary, go either Invulnerability or Shield. Despite all the Willpower slaves around here Inv is a Great set. Very solid and dependable. The set has great layered protection- resists+Defense+major HP in Dull Pain.
Shield may look weak at first glance, a mixed bag of effects. But the power of the set IS that mixed bag. The set can be raised to sick levels of defense, Health and even decent resists VERY easily. -
I would definitely say NO. With the increased Endurance... its very easy to outpace yourself and drain the blue, even with DP.
-
Up till now I was boycotting Doms till we got Dark/Dark, but these changes are just too good. So I ressurected 2 old concepts that I deleted due to the suckage of the Assault sets, a Grav/Energy and a Mind/Psi and tempted to play an Earth/Ice
