/Psi still viable?
HELL YES!!!
PSW is still just a vicious as it ever was..and when i15 releases it'll be even more vicious

I've never had a /Psi Dom before, so I never experienced PSW at its fullest.
So, is it still viable?

sure. /psi is still the most effective aoe set for doms.
though if you are looking for some st damage too then /fire is what I'd go. It has aoe on par with /psi (both have to use their cone and pbaoe to do decent aoe now) and has single target damage that eclipses /psi.
A high recharge /fire with FE up a lot will probably mow through most spawns as quickly as /psi, but will leave /psi in the dust vs bosses. Just watch out for the end drain of /fire it is on par with stone melee now lol.
Psi isn't bad now. I was extremely reticent if not downright hostile to the updates to Psi. However, I've been converted. Also don't forget, since Doms are basically an AT with Two Primaries (control/damage) the control sets contribute quite a bit to AoE damage output. My Fire/Psi can still mow down mobs at an acceptable rate.
A few have expressed concern about the difficulty of positioning Psychic Scream's cone, but I hardly bother. I just fire off at it seems to be hitting most of the mobs decently.
My level 50 Dominators:
Madame Mindbender 50 Mind/Energy
Fly Agaric 50 Plant/Thorn
Nate Nitro 50 Fire/Psi

Well combustion isn't quite on par with psy shockwave, it has a longer animation time and recharges a bit slower and also has a smaller radius. But does gain extra power from fiery embrace if you decide to take that, its pretty good. I would say the top dominator secondaries would be, fire, psi and thorny assault for farming, tf's, mishes or pvp. (Although psi isn't in pvp much)

Duel me.
I will work on my sig pic more when I have time.
Any advice on what you would take? I'm pairing it up with Mind, but the only thing that has me worried is the lack of a pet.

[/ QUOTE ]With the new uber damage we will be getting you wont need a pet or confuse. Only advice is to avoid carnies or gets tons of +tohit to fight them. Only use confuse for robots and taking down those vault doors.

both are 15 ft now (well combust always was).
Combust is slower and delivers its damage slower. I think firebreath and psyscream are about the same now except psy scream is on the melee table so hits harder and debuffs and instead of 3 ticks is upfront damage.
hmm, something isn't quite right in balancing land there lol.
At any rate FE fueled hotfeet and firecages adds a fair amount and the st damage is crazy for /fire.
They are both capable of mowing through things quickly. I'd proly still take /psi just because of DP and because psyscream+psw = 100% -rech, so between dp and the -rech "hard" control is much less necessary. Also because it will be a powerful AV build.
Thanks for the info guys, one more question,
Could I put off stamina for a bit? with DP and Domination, I could cycle between those and have my end full a good part of the time.
I would definitely say NO. With the increased Endurance... its very easy to outpace yourself and drain the blue, even with DP.
"Well, there's going to be some light music and a short note of apology saying, 'The universe ended last week, we're really sorry, we don't know what you're doing here, didn't you get the message?'"- Steve Moffat
Even on test my Fire/Psi has no issues with endurance even without Stamina (but I've got permahasten, which means like a 3-second downtime on Drain Psyche and 75-second recharge on Domination).
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
I didnt have any problems at all with my fire//psi on test. In fact? I cleared my comparative missions faster on test than live. Endurance still isnt an issue with enough recharge. Iunno, maybe if I ran her slotted with so's and no perma I'd be huffin and puffin hard.
Okies... I'll do that tommorrow..... respec her into so's with no io bonuses and see how she fairs. I already know the answer. I am pretty sure most of the "revamp" advocates do too.

if any set can deal with high end costs it is /psi. People just might have to make sure they hit more than one target with DP.
Young /psi doms should be fine alternating domination and DP.
The tiny radius on Drain Psyche becomes very apparent when you pair it with PSW (even the new version) and Soul Drain. It's nice to hit like 8 targets with Soul Drain but not so nice to only hit 3 or 4 with DP when you're standing in the same spot.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
Whats the range for DP?
10 feet.
EDIT: Odd. Corruptor Soul Drain is also 10 feet, but all other versions are 15 feet. Bugging that now.

You're not the first to bug it.
I've been using powersink for a long time on my fire/elec and ice/elec blasters so DP is ok for me. I agree though that mixed ranges for cones/pbaoes in the same set can be annoying (hence why so many put a range or two in teny tenticles for dark).
I'm also feeling a lot of pressure to pick Mu patron for my doms now to handle the burn.
Don't listen to the naysayers, dude. I leveled my Ice/Psi to 50 with just drain psyche and domination and never really had end problems while running arctic air and leadership toggles. I only ever ended up taking stamina for PvP. If you're on a big team it's not hard to get enough into the radius if you have hover. Just slot it for a little end mod.
Not having to worry about stamina is fun, I also had three travel powers.
Active (Freedom): Setna (Ice/Psi Dom), Arram (WP/KM Tank), Tesmiel (Elec/SS Tank), Astredax (Robot/Dark Mastermind), Operative Vidali (melee fortunata)
Retired (Virtue): Gaav (Inv/EM Tank), Baqra (Fire/SS Tank)

Problem with bugging things like that is they might take it the wrong way. I kinda feel bad for all the people that bugged Soul Drain's 240-second recharge when only Corruptors had that version, and then Defenders and Dominators had theirs increased as well. Apparently the radius on the Dark Melee version of Soul Drain is also 10 feet - I'd like to see all versions at 15 feet but I know more than likely they'll bump all of them down to 10 feet. Corruptor version also has a lower target cap (7 vs 10).

Is arguably much easier to amputate than it is to increase the length of a limb
Hence why we see so many things cut off at the knees.
I'll probably end up skipping stamina till the late 20s. I already did it with my other Dom, which didn't have access to DP. Just got a bunch of recovery bonuses and max End as well.
Thanks for the help guys.
