Then I punched her face, now I'm a Believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind. -
Quote:They've already said no merger for GR.You do realise that thats going to be corrected next Update/I17?
Until GR releases, the only thing we can do is wait. Maybe they *will* merge the markets, and maybe they won't. Either way, they are in a better position to judge the potential for yay or nay than us.
As for better position to judge, not if their own personal agendas blind them. For example if certain of the devs like the villain market as a mini game, financial PvP if you will, then they are biased against anything that would stabilize the market or otherwise ruin the mini game.
The market in ANY MMO should be a tool for ALL the players who care to use it, not a mini game for a few to play. If you want that sort of a mini game then add a separate stock market type of affair and let crafters register their businesses with it for tradable stock or some such. -
-
Quote:This is another outstanding issue, caused solely by the devs unwillingness to merge the markets. Heroes can't give a villain a wakie in co-op zones, and vice versa.Vigiliantes trades with Wents. Rogues trade with the BM. Not sure about actually walking up to someone and hitting "trade" though.
Quote:It's not clear the markets will equalize. More players seem interested in playing heroes than villains, and I anticipate that many such players have wanted to play corruptors, brutes and dominators but just don't like the villain vibe.
I expect they will create those ATs in Praetoria and eventually become heroes. While there will be players who run back and forth between the markets, it's not certain that there will be enough of them to make a difference. They will certainly be market junkies, so any items they bring across will not be for sale cheap.
And, face it: the market is only a fabulous way to make money because so many people post things at far below their actual value
Also, there are still a lot of people who never use the market. Although I have IOs for absolutely everything, I was on a pickup team today where half the members had no IO bonuses at all (all level 50s or so).
Recently the market has been way up and down heroside. Common and uncommon salvage prices are totally irrational, with histories like 100,000, 1,234, 1, 11, 1,000,000 not at all out of the ordinary.
Given this kind of behavior, I don't think you can expect the market to ever make any sense. This is a game, and it doesn't really matter how much you pay for something as long as you have enough to get what you want. It's not like you have to save your money for a house payment or to buy food.
Bids are making less and less sense as time goes on. Is it manipulation, impatience or ignorance? I don't know. But when the markets are acting this nuts merging them would not have any kind of predictable outcome.
Merging the markets helps the casual villain player far more than anyone else, but everyone else (except the extreme profiteers) benefits. -
Quote:Who says heroes and villains trade with each other on purpose? Have you looked up the meaning of "black market" lately? And this is in addition to Evil Geko's refutation of your objection. What self respecting Hero would trade with a villain? Knowing full well that the item(s) you're selling are not only goning to be used for evil deeds BUT also the money you recieve for selling said item will be procured from evil, crime and corruption!
Quote:The reason they don't flat out merge the markets is the instant chaos it would cause in the sudden shift. GR gives us a nice gun runner meta game and will help even the playing field at a natural rate.
If it is as you suggest why can't Vigilantes access the market then? Will Vigilantes be able to trade with Villains or Rogues? -
... to do what you should have done from the very start.
Please merge the markets ok? There are constant shortages of certain items villain side, and the only reason NOT to merge them is because you are using them as a mini game rather than letting the general population use them for what they SHOULD have been intended for from the start.
Please, finally, just merge the markets. It's looooooong overdue. -
21 views and no comments? Guess it's not a very popular idea.
Or am I the only one in CoH who uses TP almost exclusively? -
So we've had several rounds of "adjustments" to Teleport, can we get /camdist set back to a larger distance now? I'm thinking 600 yds should be good.
I just want to be able to TP to a ledge or rooftop again without staring up my character's crotch to TP straight up, then whipping the camera back around to point downward to TP again to the desired location. -
Here is a link to the Ninja Runner Costume for download for your convenience. Right click and "Save Link As..." to download.
And remember that you must go back to the body type selection screen and set all sliders to their maximum values after you load the costume.
Bodytype is Huge.
Male and Female will be available shortly. -
Why is is that lame people keep trying to shove gambling into our faces?
You wanna go play some blackjack or something there are a bajillion sites that you can do that on. This trash has no place in CoH. -
I think part of the problem is that Guild Wars had a large free promotion going on during the Super Booster II launch as well.
This really bogged down the store, for them as well as us. -
We've all gone into the NCSoft store when the new Super Booster is released, or at least tried too. You know that when the word gets out the store gets hammered by way too many requests for it to handle, especially if another NCSoft game is having a promotion in the store at the same time.
So what I'd like to suggest is that 14-30 days before the release of a new Super Booster (or other new store item, e.g. if Going Rogue is released via the NCSoft store as well as retail outlets) these items should become available in the NCSoft store.
This should ease the strain on NCSoft store servers as well as on the nerves of eager City players. -
Personally I wanted (and outlined) an Insect Summoning MM at one point. Three ants at tier one, 2 beetles at tier two, and a 7' tall preying mantis for tier 3.
Sadly, not going to happen. Although there is merit to making it a Booster just to fund the extra head count to develop it.
Still, it'd only be for one AT. Probably not worth the dev time/cost. Even though I'd be more than willing to shell out my $10 for each set. -

We have too many servers for COH/V. Drop em to 5 so theres a real population in each one rather than 2 or 3.

In the name of Positron's Iron Underwear, HELL NO!
I despise Freedumb and the totally random inability to get into it. I don't like the crowds, nor the arrogance displayed by some of the least deserving members of the population there.
I do not want every server to be like Freedumb. I like my low population servers.
However, if you want to be on Freedumb, you can certainly spend $10 US to move the character of your choice over there. -

I've taken some advice from Catwhoorg that has reduced my aversion to the market greatly.
I still feel the markets, particularly the Villain market, would benefit greatly from a merger. -
Not what I expected when I started reading.
I like it. /signed, do it, make it so, so let it be written ~ so let it be done! -

Tie it to a badge: Lobbyist.

I was thinking the City Official day job badge myself. -
I am all over your combat TP suggestion. Just be sure both Dwarf forms get it, too.

It's not a cemetery, it's a public memorial park.

While that would explain why it doesn't give credit, it doesn't explain the ghosts that hang out there every night. -

Just had a friends account info hacked and they stripped all his toons of all IO's and Cash... he is a 3 year vet and very active..You talking 5-6 billion worth of stuff. Problem is that oh yeah NCSOFT cant do anything about verifying what you had.. Restore deleted Toons yes everything else he had to just take it up the rear.. This isnt the first time this has happened and wont be the last.

IT Security Tip #1
A password is like a toothbrush. Use it regularly, change it often, and don't share it with anyone.
Item 2 is probably the one to keep in mind here. -

Okay...Wait...Let me see if I understand this clearly...
You're asking for transparent bikinis? Am I reading this right?
Far be it from me to refuse pixelated mammories exposed for the world to see...But I have a sneaky suspicion that isn't gonna fly...

"Particularly for the legs and arms."
Yeah, lots of mammaries there. -
The Cemetery in Croatoa should give credit towards the Mortician Day Job Badge.
Just a thought. -

Aaand... as awesome as those are, they still ought to be free.
No more microtransactions.
Either that or get rid of the monthly fee. Both is unacceptable.
[/ QUOTE ]
Both are perfectly fine considering that they don't charge for actual expansions (Issues).
Since we get TONS of free content I don't begrudge a little extra from time to time (on both my accounts) to help them keep head count up. The game has been improved so much since the Wedding Pack came out (right up till the '09 Valentine's Event where everything went into the toilet) that I consider the microtransactions NCSoft is selling with CoH as a wonderful thing. You don't HAVE to by them to get the Power of Ultimate Uberosity and win the game, they are 120% optional.
