MA Ratings - Keep Blank Until X Votes

This might have been brought up elsewhere, but I was wondering if it might be a good idea to keep MA stories "unranked" - hide their rankings - until they have 5 or 10 votes. A couple of simple reasons why this might be good:

1. Spiteful rankings. There's a lengthy thread on how a first rating of 1 star could be detrimental in having others want to try the story. This could help prevent creating being immediately derailed. Maybe this solution was brought up in the thread, but I haven't waded through it all.

2. Willingness to play unranked arcs. Some players seem to be searching for unranked arcs to play in order to give them a fair chance. Of course, once they are played once and ranked...they're not unranked anymore!

Thoughts?

Yes. Make a new category called "Ratings Pending" and don't have the stars visible until it gets 5 ratings. Also, put "Ratings Pending" at the top of the list, under Dev's Choice and Hall of Fame.

...I forgot what experience means.

/signed, I like this idea a lot. It could help lower the impact of the first few votes. I think a number like 15 would be better though.

From what I remember Poshyb said it was like that origionaly and they got a lot of complaints.

Good idea, I'd also like for them to drop the bottom 10% and top 10% of the votes when calculating the average, as is currently done in some sporting events.

This should cut down on the impact of ratings snipers, as well as the guildies pumping up people's scores.
