Animal Master Mind

I have heard this time and time again in-game and wanted to see what people had to say. Yes I have had discussion over something similar in the past about models and such. But they did A LOT in the last two issues. so maybe issue 16-17. It's somewhat surprising that they have not already done this or at least tried. though rumors where once going around that someone did have models for animals. i just think in a City of- there could be someone with animal control. And what i thought was-
Scratch
Summon Feline -Warrior Cats- -Demon Cats Secondary around lvl 20s-
Bite
-Upgrade-
Gnaw or Feed
Conjure Canine
Claw
Bring Beast- Mythical Creature-
Call on the wild -Upgrade-

What does anyone think?

I desperately want a Beastmaster type of MM. Give me a trio of wolves at tier one, a pair of tigers at tier two, and a bear at tier three plus a spear as a melee weapon and I am happy for like forever. Some more "savage" style costume options to go with it would please me as well.

Sadly, it is pretty much never going to happen, as animals require a completely different skeleton than anything else in the game.

LoL I thought lightly and I wanted a cat. but wolves where Tier 2 Or Dogs.
Ya' know if they made a powerpack that gave Heroes/Villains the Chance to choose an animal that you could buy for 5 bucks. That'd be GREAT. Give you the commands of a MM and you get to choose like 3-4 animals to summon.

It'd take way more than five bucks for the development team to design and build good looking animal skeletons and animate them, sadly. But yeah, maybe some day. maybe.

And then PETA will jump em lol.

LoL Yeah 10-15 bucks at most- though I just hope they'd add it in an issue in the future, who knows it may actually be a surprise for issue 15.

Not very likely to be in I15 or I16, unless they've had a full staff working on just that alone. The skeleton building process takes quite some work, and since they don't do motion capture, all the animations are pretty much hand-done eyeballed work. In order to make a 4 footed skeleton look good on a tiger, it'd be very different on a bear, they walk differently and don't have the same types of motion. Dogs and maybe rats or whatnot, also very different from one another. So... it wouldn't be "one" skeleton, it'd be "however many animals in the set".

Like I said it'd be a nice thing to want, but I don't see it any time in the near future.

I'd argue that if done as a power pack, it should be just one or two animals and the majority of the pack should be new costume pieces. I can only base it off the Cyborg pack but the power you gain is not slottable and lacks the ability to upgrade in any form. The sheer act of making it able to accept enhancements in addition to whatever your other powers are will be quite powerful.

So, a power pack would be really nice to augment pre established builds while a brand new Mastermind power could be far more flexible in it's own right. Something to keep in mind is that it doesn't have to be the exact same 3-2-1 minion unlock set as the rest of MM if they do a Beastmaster. They could mix things up like doing 4 wolves, 1 hawk, and 1 tiger with the hawk not being better or worse than the others but rather having entirely different uses/utility since it can fly.

Personally I wanted (and outlined) an Insect Summoning MM at one point. Three ants at tier one, 2 beetles at tier two, and a 7' tall preying mantis for tier 3.

Sadly, not going to happen. Although there is merit to making it a Booster just to fund the extra head count to develop it.

Still, it'd only be for one AT. Probably not worth the dev time/cost. Even though I'd be more than willing to shell out my $10 for each set.

Check out the Repeat Offenders network of SGs! You'll be glad you did.

I want a crustacean powerset, because no hero would ever admit to catching the crabs.

Hey did you here Manticore's really pissed off!
Why?
Sister Psyche caught the Crabs over the weekend from some Mastermind!

They could get modest mileage out of creating animal skeletons. An Animal MM set, a Survival Gear Blaster secondary (with wolf and eagle summons) and various strays in the city.

See? There's more to it than you think.

Not to mention cyborg Dobermans in the 5th, and a variety of other uses. Animal skeletons are long overdue. The game is in need of an overhaul in many graphical areas... they've hinted one is on it's way, and I only hope they've got the manpower to make it as significant as the game needs and deserves.

That is the only problem I can see is their skeletons. They have to make them move and attack just right. Lots of work but they have hinted things about animals in game and so on. I would really rather have a MM set for animals than a poweset, you would get much more out of it.

When you start seeing stray cats and dogs wandering around with the pedestrians, that would be a hint that they have started working on animal skeletons for the game and may have plans for bigger ideas like this one in the works. That would mean they have worked out the most basic of the animations for walking and/or running and have designed quadrupedal skeletons.

Unfortunately, I don't think this is coming in the short term, but maybe someday.

Please god. Though that would be quite a hint and I hope it happens soon!
