    Where to now?

I am going to Lord of the Rings Online. It's biggest strength is the community. They are dedicated to the game and the community is similar to CoH in its spirit.

Good luck to you all, wherever you end up.
  2. Thank you Paladin. I have intermittently done instances, missions and trials with you for -years-. It has always been a pleasure. Any time I saw Paladin recruiting, I tried to join. Good luck and thank you for everything.
  3. Ode to Joy, my dark/dark/dark defender. She has by far the most time spent on her. Ode to Joy Beaumont is a ton of fun to play. I cannot get enough of dark. I have several dark miasma and dark blast characters.

Joy has a special place in my heart though. I will miss her the most. Her mama was not a nice woman. She made a deal to have a demon's child for an increase in magic ability. Ode to Joy was born. Joy had a great childhood. Her mama protected her from "bad" stuff. She decided to search for her papa once she hit 18 and spent the rest of her time tracking the demonic prince she called papa. She finally completed that search just as she hit 50. Now she has been a complete superhero, happy in her identity and happy in her hero-ness.

It was -all- good with Ode to Joy. I will miss you Joy.
  4. Thank you for the stories. All of you at Paragon will be missed. Good luck to you all. I will watch for you in the future. I expect great things from you all in the future.

    -This-.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

    Good luck.
  6. Pretty much what the title says...I am returning to the game after some time and I would like to find teams. Not just LV 35 actually ( I have altitis ) but advice on all levels on where to find a team.

    Thank you in advance.

    New pet choices

Welcome to the forums. Glad to have you. Feel free to ask any questions you want. Most of the people that respond will be a little nicer.
  8. My favorite on this was Shenaniguns. Great name.

I have an alt named Pistolier on Virtue.
  9. Try the corruptor side. I do not have a dark/dark corruptor but I have a dark/dark defender, a dark/archery defender, a cold dom/dark defender and a fire/dark corruptor at lv 50 ( as well as storm/dark at a lower level ). The dark/dark is still my favorite character of all to play and is the only one I routinely play once they hit 50. I think that combo may work even better as a corruptor. It is not the fastest leveling character I have ever taken to 50 ( my masterminds are ), but if you are not in a hurry it's wonderful. Try it, you'll like it.
  10. And -you- have no excuse for rudeness.

Welcome to the forums new guy. Most people here will be happy to just answer your questions without editorializing on what you should or should not know. That is why we have question and answer areas. Ignore the jerk and enjoy the game. It's wonderfully fun to play.

I certainly don't like to value people over what they chose at the powerset selection screen.
I completely agree. Thank you for the eloquence.
  12. I just have to say that I find the OP's thought process impressive. Sometimes, I find myself amazed at the abilities of a poster. Many many kudos to you.

    What Bank?

You can't really complain about someone leveling in the AE only when he is trying to do a bank mission in Faultline. You have to have done a certain number of newspaper missions -in Faultline- to get offered the mission. You cannot be lv 50 and get it ( I think technically you can if you use Oro but that takes a -lot- of knowledge to do that ). Come on guys, just help the new guy who wants to learn the game.

The mission you want is behind the wall. I hate those missions and rarely do Faultline because of them. There is a door to get you behind it, but know how to describe how to get there easily. Perhaps one of the other vets can help you if they can get of the AE-complaint bandwagon.
  14. I recently received an e-mail that offered me ( anyone else who wanted to do it ) the chance to be entered in the closed beta for I16 if I stayed subscribed from August 15 through November 15. From this, I understood that closed beta would not start until after November 15. I no longer have that e-mail. Did anyone else get that and did you understand it to mean something else?
  15. So, taking Dave's suggestion, how does this build look to someone who plays fire/fire? Thanks in advance for any help.

  16. I am about to start outfitting my lv 42 fire/fire scrapper. I am really enjoying him. What set types should I emphasize---recharge, defense ( if so, to what? ), resistance ( if so, to what? ), regeneration, damage, something else?

Thanks in advance for any help.
  17. 32 looks, no replies. Bumping, in hopes of an answer.

    Thanks in advance.
  18. Has anyone tried the defender version of World of Confusion with Contagious Confusion? I am curious if the contagiousness makes the World of Confusion more useful? I am considering respec'ing my dark/dark/elec into dark/dark/mind. The final answer will depend on whether this proc makes the power itself more useful.

Thanks in advance for any help.
  19. Does this combo give you invisibility?

    Thank you for any anwers.
  20. WillO'Wisp

    I am convinced

Well, I just spent the 200 merits I had saved up to buy a LotG +7.5% recharge on 10 random rolls in the lv 40-45 range instead.

I got the following: LotG +7.5% recharge, Miracle +recovery, Numina's Convalescence +recovery/regeneration, Posi Chance for Energy, Glimpse of the Abyss Chance for Psionic, Mako's Bite Damage/Recharge, Devastation Chance for Hold, Devastation Acc/Dam/Recharge, Gaussian's Rech/End and Call of the Sandman Acc/Sleep/Recharge.

    I am pleased.

I have no idea how it would work, but it sure would be nice to have some mechanism to allow newer customers to "catch up".

    [/ QUOTE ]

That mechanism is already present...pay for and play the game for 63 months and 66 months. You will never catch up to being here the entire time...because you haven't. You can however earn the rewards the same way every other 63 and 66 months vet has if you stay here, support the game and help the community. Get to work!

*shrug* Color me disappointed, but they certainly aren't in any way game-changing. Just fun bonuses.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm mostly disappointed because I was hoping that vet rewards would eventually stop at some point. 5 years seemed the best place. As it is, there's no way I can ever catch up to get the new rewards. I've been around since release, but I had no way of knowing at the time that if I stayed subscribed I'd be able to get stuff.

Makes it worse when new stuff comes out and there are rewards I actually WANT, but I can't get, and will NEVER be able to catch up to.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This statement makes absolutely no sense. You will ABSOLUTELY be able to get those rewards when you have -paid- to play the game for 63 and 66 months...just like all the rest of us have. Put in the money, put in the time and enjoy. Complaining you don't have something you haven't earned is not going to make the time go by any faster.
  23. This is an excellent guide for almost everyone. I learned a couple things myself despite having a 60 month badge. With a slight change in wording, it could serve as an instruction guide to any new player. Cheers!
  24. I believe I have seen it stated in the past that they will not allow turning off the power effects. Having them display is important to allow your opponents to see what you are doing. Since I don't play PvP, this seems rather pointless, but if you play PvP, I can see where it would be vital.

I will be at least somewhat happier if I can at least tint them.
  25. Yes, this is a serious question.

I read frequently about various players spending 100's of millions of influence for io sets and purple sets. I am wondering why.

I tend to buy some of the cheaper sets on my characters that reach 50 if I think there is any chance I may want to keep playing them. With the modest amount of time and influence I spend on this, I can do every task force, Hamidon and typical mission assignments. Thus my question...what am I missing?

I can think of only two reasons. The first is PvP. I have never done PvP and do not intend to do so. If this is a reason, I am not really missing anything.

The second reason is just to be the best you can possibly be. I understand this but just don't really care that much for my characters. I want them to be playable and able to contribute but that is all I need.

    Am I missing something else?

Thanks for taking this seriously. No offense is meant, no trolling is meant.
