I am convinced

Well, I just spent the 200 merits I had saved up to buy a LotG +7.5% recharge on 10 random rolls in the lv 40-45 range instead.

I got the following: LotG +7.5% recharge, Miracle +recovery, Numina's Convalescence +recovery/regeneration, Posi Chance for Energy, Glimpse of the Abyss Chance for Psionic, Mako's Bite Damage/Recharge, Devastation Chance for Hold, Devastation Acc/Dam/Recharge, Gaussian's Rech/End and Call of the Sandman Acc/Sleep/Recharge.

I am pleased.

Gratz !

Gratz. Also, I hate your luck.

But it is amusing that all the people saving up for LotG, and then saying [censored] it and doing a random roll, actually get it. Luck of the gambler indeed!

Another example of actual per item merit costs needing to be reduced.

Thank you, City of Heroes, for giving me a superhero social network combined with amazingly smooth game play. Petitions signed with realistic expectations.

No, it's not.

I've done the same thing and gotten nothing worthwhile off 10-15 rolls.

200 tickets guarantees a LotG +rech. 200 tickets of random rolls does not.

Sighs. Come on, Lavitae! /puppyeyesface.

Pwwwwease.

And gratz Ode! Yeah... it's like the perfect golf shot with a day like that. You remember it always... even through your 10 crap roll days lol.

Well you got more of the big 3 than I have on 100+ 35-39 rolls blue side, on which I got a total of 1. Apologies to Fulmens who bought some of those rolls (and not the good one).

Red side, I've taken a total of 2 rolls, a miracle unique and a LOL sting of the manticore that somebody bought for 35M. The world is truly going mad

Random rolls are nice, but there's no way I'm gonna get a level 25 LotG: 7.5% Increased Recharge by random rolling on my level 50 chars. And that's usually what I want, for exemping purposes.

I rolled a LOTG +7.5% last night. And it's one of the things I needed too.

I love it when that happens.

This hits the nail on the head. I generally want to buy the recipe at a lower level. Especially procs that I'm slotting in low level powers.

However, if you have a lot of alts it's basically impossible to save up enough to get exactly what you want on each character. So on characters that you're never going to get 200 merits on, the random roll may be the way to go. Intending, of course, to sell whatever you get and then bid on what you really want.

I finally got tired of waiting on my lowball bids yesterday, and dropped 600M on 4 LotG +recharge.

I ran Renault later on. Guess what came up when I spent the tickets on a random roll?

Seems like yesterday was LotG day for the RNG.

I find just the opposite. I have a bajillion alts and random is good for me not because I sell and buy what I want, but rather because I almost always have someone who needs what I rolled.

When THAT happens, it's the most fun.

My current toon, an MM who's at 32 or so, finally built up enough merits from the odd DeathSurge team and whatnot to have enough merits to drop for a merit recipe-roll (no I don't ever chase merits by running mission arcs or by doing TFs, mainly due to the hour I'm on and my lack of a decent SG - which is all another story and don't get me bogged down in those details right now, ok?, I'm trying to tell a story here. So anyways).

I walk over to the merit vendor on Cap expecting trash as that's what I've gotten in the past the two times I've merit rolled on other toons, drop my twenty merits and -zing!- I get the Sovereign Right unique, which I will be using for her.

Now THAT was a seriously fun roll!

They're that high now? Yeesh. I think I figured IO'ing out my dom about 3 days before everything in her build doubled in price.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
