Alrighty, I'll be forming these back up started Next tuesday (Sept 27th) now that things have calmed down a little. Same time frame though, forming up around 4:30pm EST and trying to get 2 runs in.

Eh, a brute only really needs like 10% fury to out damage a tanker. Maybe 20% when you factor in bruising (which may or may not have its full affect in PvP) 1 attack can pretty much put you in the 10-20% fury range, especially if the enemy hits you when you hit them.

I've played both WoW and CoH for quite a few years (i'll pay WoW when a new expansion comes out, hit the highest gear tier i can, then quit because i get bored that i can't raid) And i always come back to Coh.
Ways you can pitch things to him:
CoH literally throws mobs are you in droves. You can fight upwards of 15 mobs at at time, and with proper inspiration usage, or buffs/debuffs you can always come out ahead. WoW, your lucky if you can take on 4 even level mobs without them taking you out pretty quick like.
The stories in WoW you literally have to dig for. Hunting the undead of their legs doesn't really stop the lich king from killing everything in its path. The stories in city are thrown at you left and right. All you have to do is read a little bit, and your suddenly knee deep in rich story content.
Incarnate content is not just rich in story, but actually provides a way to increase your level to above the cap. level 53 players aren't all too uncommon anymore. And the next time he complains about the level cap, just point out that you don't have to replace your gear every time blizzard sneezes. Gear is static, and things like HOs and SOs don't scale very well. Makes things easier instead of constantly wasting your time getting new gear, just to have a new patch make it all useless again. -
Quote:While true that you would lose any set bonuses if your running sets, compared to pure DOs or SOs, even when exemplaring lowering the values down to compensate, you would still have higher enhancements values then you would have on just SOs and DOs. This is due to the dual- tri- and quad- aspect enhancements either taking less of a hit, or no hit at all when exemplared down. Plus you can enhance more aspects then you could on pure SOs/DOs.When you exemp, your enhancement values are reduced to compensate for the fact that you have more slots in the powers you're using (hypothetically, at least...some builds that may not be the case), and that you have access to more powerful enhancers as well. This can be pretty crippling if, for example, you slotted accuracy to be "sufficient" at your current, high level, you'll find yourself missing a whole lot more often. If you used and were relying Invention sets at a high level to cover certain bases, you may lose those as well. And that's not just when "building for 50". Personally speaking, I tend to start slotting IOs in the late 20s, but exemping down to the level of this month's arc would rob me of any bonuses as well.
For example 3 damage, 1 acc, 1 end, 1 rech is a pretty basic 6 slot damage power on +0 SOs. Which gives you about 94.93% damage, 33.3% acc/end/rech. Now, replace those same six slots with a full thunderstrike set, and your looking at 101.47% damage, and 68.9% acc/end/rech.. Thats what i'm really meaning about having higher enhancement values at lower levels, even when considering exemplaring. -
Eh, the power difference between a level 20, and a level 50 is oh... 10 powers. Due to the way Exemplaring works, you keep up to your level 24 power, and you keep all your slots that go into any powers from level 24 and below.
As a level 50 has access to 24 powers, your really only losing 42% of your powers. Keeping all your slots, and all your enhancement values (which with most sets, is still more then what you would have at level 20) means that your MUCH more powerful then you would've been at level 20.
Exemplaring isn't the end of the world, and even if your builds run better at level 50, with your alpha boosts, and incarnate powers, at level 20 you shouldn't have that many toggles, or extra powers sucking up endurance so its really not that bad. -

Quote:Economics does not work that way. The supply of common IOs will fall, while the demand will remain roughly constant (the number of players with the accolade is a tiny fraction of those who want common IOs). As a result, the prices will rise as people increase their bids to insure that they, rather than someone else, gets the few IOs that are on the market.
now, while i don't want the crafting table to be account wide, the negatives of common IOs going up in prices, especially when they really shouldn't ever get higher then 1 million per (500k recipes cost, 500k crafting costs, basically nothing for the common salvage) I'm not seeing it as that much of a big deal. -
-
But what IOs they are crafting will be at 1/2 the normal crafting price. As prices hover at about 75% the crafting costs now (about 350k will buy any level 50 common IO, and they take about 500k to craft) prices will go even lower then they are now...
-
So how would that 'increase' the cost of them? If they are listed at, or below the crafting costs, wouldn't that lower the cost of them overall?

Quote:Thats mainly due to the flood of newbies. Once everyone hits level 50 on their fresh alts, i forsee the UGT getting played to death as a means to unlock the slots early (75% XP for both sides a run, means only 3 runs needed to unlock everything) and then running lambda/baf for the easy componets (as they take less time to complete, but give less rewards) Give it about a month or 2 and the trials will get run more often.I guess experiences will vary - depending on the number of +3s I guess.
I've completed 2/5 successfully so far. Hopefully, the sucess rate will increase as people get used to the trial.
The only problem i've encountered is finding someone actually running the trial - which isn't often. -
Quote:But wouldn't you have to do that with ANY game that your playing where you don't want to use the default keybinds? WASD is pretty common throughout more games, as universal up, left, down, right movement keys, so going against norms, and then complaining that you have to spend time to change it, is kinda whats the word? Counter productive?Okay, for a newbie it'll be more like a minute -- find the menu, find the options, find the keymaps tab, find the keys to set right. And all the while you're thinking, "I should be in there fighting!!" Only not really because, as you will notice even in that tiny about of time, S.P. and B.A.B. totally have it covered.

Having the same issue here. Thought it was just me, Firefox remembers my username/password just fine, but the Coh forums won't keep me logged in once i close out the window.
-
Or ya know, spending 10 seconds hitting 'Load from file' on all the different load options (windows, chat, powers, etc) and boom. Done.
-
To be fair, flambeux is both the emo, and the angry one in later tip missions.. it just takes awhile for her to go that route.
-
Isn't there a contact near Miss Liberty that will tell you what the server trial is about, and how to join it? I coulda swore there was a new guy somewhere near her..
-
Why? wasn't it already inverterd? And can't you change it back? Changing the mouse to be inverted is the first thing i do in almost every game i play, as thats the perfered mouse setting for me. Having it default just means i don't have to click 'load from file' 6 different times to get all my settings just right.

uh... how exactly? Memorization crafting tables actually cuts the price of crafting in half, so the crafting costs is only about 250k for the big ones.. normal crafting costs is about 500k.. so how would making the memorization crafting tables account wide increase the cost of crafted generic IOs?
-
Whats the total number of Astral merits earned per successful run, not counting any badges you may get along the way?
I've been getting mixed reports of anywhere between 7 astral merits, and 13 astral merits a run.. -
First attempt at the underground Trial, and we won, with just 1 second to spare. Grats to everyone on the league, and the leader for leading an awesome league
-
I'm getting impatient on some of my rares, but at 1.5 million a pop at buy it now prices, its not too bad. The problem is i'm running outta uncommons salvage..
I think i'm up to 140 crafted enhancements from all my random rolls.. i'm thinking i'll have to junk a salvage storage bin, and get another enhancement bin in my little 2 room base.. -
Quote:Yes, i know, that is exactly what i'm saying. VIPs will always get more. so trying to say that the dev's idea is to make everyone premium is just flat out wrong (thats my point)And the devs have flat out stated many times that that is exactly what they intended to accomplish. The goal of Freedom is to reward subscribers and entice free and premium players to become subscribers, because VIP's get more.
If players don't want to subscribe well they can still stick around but they'll get less. Unlike before when they were cut off completely. -
